100X Returns System: I Dominate the Age of Gods
Chapter 326. A Distant Memory of the Past - 3
The green-eyed figure tilted its head slightly before speaking again through Samantha’s body.
"Tell me about this hermit."
Rudra looked toward Anna for a brief moment before answering.
"She called herself keeper of fate; we only know that much. She was a simple black-haired lady."
The entity possessing Samantha remained silent for several seconds after hearing that description. Samantha’s green eyes narrowed faintly, as though she were searching through distant memories or piecing together fragments of knowledge she had forgotten over eons.
The room gradually fell into silence.
The floating green particles still drifted through the air like suspended starlight, bathing the chamber in an ethereal glow. Neither Rudra nor Anna dared interrupt the entity’s thoughts; by now, Rudra understood this much: whoever she was, she was definitely a goddess or a stronger being.
After a few minutes, Samantha finally raised her head again and looked directly at the couple.
"You two carry powerful physiques belonging to outer gods," she said calmly.
Rudra frowned slightly. "What is an outer god??"
Samantha shook her head.
"It’s not your place to know; I will just fulfill the word of the hermit, though I don’t know her, I still will because you are here for a blessing, and I don’t refuse anyone who asks for my blessing."
In truth, she could refuse, but she had her personal agenda. While blessing the couple, she wanted to spread her influence and start her own religion in this world, while not revealing traces of her presence.
As soon as she finished speaking, Samantha slowly raised one hand.
The countless green particles scattered throughout the room immediately reacted. They began circling her palm before forming a spinning vortex of emerald energy. The entire room trembled faintly under the pressure released by the phenomenon.
Then, in an instant, the vortex shot forward and entered Anna’s womb.
Anna gasped sharply.
Her breathing became uneven for several moments as a strange warmth spread through her body. Rudra immediately moved closer to support her, but after a few tense seconds, her condition stabilized, and her breathing slowly returned to normal.
The possessed Samantha lowered her hand.
"Your child was supposed to lose his life during his mana awakening," she said.
The moment those words reached them, both Rudra and Anna froze completely.
Anne’s hands instinctively moved to her womb as fear flooded her face. Her fingers trembled uncontrollably while Rudra forced himself to remain calm enough to speak.
"Why do you say so?" Rudra asked carefully.
The entity answered without hesitation.
"As I said, both of you carry outer god physiques that are powerful on their own; normally, such people are not supposed to marry or have a child together, but oh well, what can we do about the love of fledglings who think love is absolute?"
Despite the casual tone, the words carried an undeniable weight. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"Well, I suppose your marriage was definitely not supported by your two clans, am I not right?"
Rudra’s expression stiffened slightly while Anna unconsciously tightened her grip around his hand.
The entity had spoken the truth.
Back then, the Luneia Clan had already begun searching for a suitable groom for Annasthasia. Yet strangely enough, despite being one of the most talented and influential young rulers in the world, Rudra Solaris had never once appeared among the proposed candidates.
At the time, neither of them had understood why. But it had never mattered to them.
Their feelings for one another had already taken root long before that, during their years together at the World Academy.
Anastasia still remembered those days vividly. Their stolen meetings. Their secret conversations and exchange of letters.
The understanding they shared, even when the entire world seemed determined to keep them apart.
Eventually, the pressure from their clans became unbearable.
So one night, Rudra secretly brought Anna away from the Luneia Clan under everyone’s noses. Together, they traveled to the Drakemor Empire, where Elder Minglong and Yun Long personally blessed their union and oversaw their vows of marriage.
Then, by the very next morning, Rudra publicly declared Annasthasia both the Empress of the Solaris Empire and the woman who held his heart.
The aftermath of this was chaotic.
The old ancestors from both clans had fiercely opposed the marriage. They constantly spoke of incompatibility, using strange phrases such as "day and night never go together," "sun and moon are forbidden to meet," and "yin and yang are destined opposites."
Yet none of them had ever explained the true reason behind their objections. Most likely, even they themselves did not fully understand the matter of physiques and childbirth.
Rudra silently clenched his jaw.
Truthfully, even if he had known about this complication beforehand, he doubted he would have given up on Anna. At worst, he would have simply accepted a childless future or adopted a child from the orphanage without much worry.
And by the way, Anna looked at him now; she was feeling the same. If necessary, she thought that she probably would have searched for a second wife for him, and rather than leave his side, she would have been okay to become a concubine.
To both of them, their love had always felt stronger than everything else.
The entity suddenly coughed lightly, breaking them out of their thoughts.
"You see the problem, right!! Your child is rare; he has somehow inherited both of your physiques, but that is a problem more than a good trait."
Rudra and Anna immediately focused on her again.
"When your child awakens, both of these dormant physiques will wake up and clash for supremacy over each other, and until one wins and the other’s physique is destroyed, they won’t stop, and in the process, they will destroy your child; either he will lose his mind or die from strain."
The explanation caused Anna’s face to lose all color.
Her lips trembled violently as tears gathered once more in her eyes. Both she and Rudra instinctively placed their hands over her womb as though trying to protect the unborn child from fate itself.
Seeing their reaction, the entity continued more calmly.
"But now it will be alright."
Those words immediately made both of them look up.
"I have planted the seed of dormancy inside the budding heart of the child; every physique in this cosmos roots from the heart. The seed will prevent the clash of physiques by keeping one of the physiques dormant, saving your child from pain and death. It can’t be undone now anyway."
Relief instantly appeared on Anna’s face, though Rudra still looked concerned.
"Which physique did you suppress?" he asked.
"The mother’s physique," Samantha replied.
Rudra frowned immediately.
"Why not mine? Why did you suppress Anne’s? Mine is very destructive, and I am sure it will try to eat the seed of dormancy itself soon enough."
Samantha suddenly chuckled softly.
"For the problem you mentioned, if such a scenario happens, then just bring your boy to me; I will reinforce the seed every few years."
"And as for why I chose to suppress Mother’s inherited physique? You see, if that boy fails to awaken powers and traits from the father’s side, then some wretches in society will question his mother’s fidelity to her husband. Rudra, Anne has left her home for you; at least grant her some peace of mind."
Rudra immediately fell silent after hearing that. The conversation had turned in a direction he had not even considered.
He slowly turned toward Anna and held her hands firmly before speaking with complete seriousness.
"I don’t want my son to have no traits of his mother at all; that is not fair."
His eyes carried absolute certainty.
"He wouldn’t need to prove he is my son through looks or physique alone. The day he begins to shine, no one will dare question his origin. When he walks a path as high as mine and leaves his mark upon this world, everyone will know that only someone carrying the blood of Rudra could reach such heights."
A faint smile slowly appeared on Rudra’s face.
"I bet when people witness his deed, they would say, "Like father, like son."
Samantha clicked her tongue in amusement.
"You are a good man, Rudra, much better than many. Ok, I can do something about your concern. I can make his hair and eyes go after his mother despite having your physique that grants black hair and eyes. Is that okay with you?"
Rudra immediately nodded with a smile.
The moment Anna heard that, tears finally spilled from her eyes completely. Her gaze softened as she looked at Rudra with overwhelming affection.
She suddenly hugged him tightly.
"I would never regret having made that choice. I am so thankful for the past self that I ran away from my home for you!!!"
As soon as she finished speaking, she leaned forward and planted a deep kiss on Rudra’s lips.
"Urgh!!! Fledglings! I’ll take my leave."
The entity spoke in obvious annoyance before immediately relinquishing control over Samantha’s body.
The green particles filling the room gradually faded away.
A moment later, Samantha herself regained control.
Her head felt dizzy as she slowly opened her eyes.
The very first thing she saw was the couple in front of her sharing an extremely passionate kiss.
Her brows twitched instantly.
"Ugh!! What are you two doing?" she asked, completely out of context with everything that had just happened.
