"What... What is happening..." Gu Ling choked out, with her body trembling uncontrollably as her limbs went entirely numb. She looked up at Gu Chen with her eyes filled with desperate panic, expecting him to jump up, grab some antidote, and save her like the hero he always was.

But Gu Chen didn’t move an inch.

He simply sat in his chair, looking down at her as the warm, righteous smile filled up his face.

"Don’t struggle, Sister Ling," Gu Chen said, his voice filled with the usual warmth as he stared at her helpless struggle, "The poison will just make your meridians lock up tighter if you try to fight it, so just accept it."

Gu Ling stared at him in absolute shock as the realization hit her. Her trusted, noble brother had just poisoned her.

"Why...?" she wheezed as her beautiful eyes turned teary.

Gu Chen stood up and walked around the table before kneeling beside her paralyzed body. He reached out and gently pulled up her chin to make her look up at him.

"Because the clan needs someone strong to lead it."

"The Patriarch is a useless full who cannot be trusted."

"For the sake of the clan, I need to breakthrough to the Origin Realm, and for that, I desperately need your Yin essence," Gu Chen stated coldly, his eyes tracing the curves of her body.

"Don’t blame me, Ling’er," Gu Chen affectionately looked at her, a bit of remorse visible in her eyes.

"I can’t wait longer. I can’t wait for opportunities to fall in my lap."

"But brother Gu Fan..." The icy facade on her face began to break.

Meanwhile across the town somewhere in the the heavily guarded Heavenly Treasure Pavilion, Gu Fan was completely relaxed and enjoying his recent conquest.

He was lying flat on his back on the massive, plush sofa in the VIP chamber, while Su Mei was straddling his muscular thigh, completely naked except for the heavy King-Grade ’Absolute Submission Collar’ secured tightly around her elegant neck.

Gu Fan stopped squeezing Su Mei’s breast as his green eyes narrowed sharply while he read the floating red text hovering in the air.

An utterly amused grin spread across his face because he knew exactly what this meant.

Gu Fan stood up and quickly pulled on his dark combat trousers, fastening his heavy leather belt tightly around his waist.

Calculating the distance between them, he had enough time to save Gu Ling. And saving the damsel at the very last minute would get him more points.

"Rest up, Sister Mei," Gu Fan ordered, looking back at the naked, stunning woman posing obediently on the sofa, "I will be back soon to collect those spirit stones."

"Yes, Master," Su Mei bowed her head respectfully, with her eyes completely filled with love as she watched her powerful man prepare for battle, "Please be careful, and return to me soon."

"Hold on, Ling’er," Gu Fan chuckled to himself as he leaped out of a top-floor window.

"Your brother is coming to crash the party."
