70s Delicate Girl: A Guide to Being a Rich Woman
Chapter 595: Swimming
"Auntie, Dongdong’s grades are pretty good right now, and Nannan is only four years old; he hasn’t even started primary school yet. Aren’t you being a bit too anxious?" Xu Mumu said helplessly. Dongdong and Nannan are the names of Xu Qingxing’s two sons.
"I don’t come to your place often; give me some advice. In two years, Nannan will be starting primary school." Xu Qingxing said with a smile. She really doesn’t come often. Her family has divided, and she only returns for her parents’ birthdays and New Year’s. The rest of the time is busy with her husband’s family, and she has to take care of two kids, leaving no time to visit her parental home.
Xu Mumu chuckled and began to share some parenting tips she had learned.
As soon as Xu Mumu started talking, a few of her aunts gathered around; they wanted to know too.
Xu Mumu’s mouth twitched, but she started explaining anyway.
In this era, without her presence, having children in the Xu Family graduate from primary school was already quite good.
In some households, they couldn’t even fill their bellies. Raising children was just about keeping them from starving; as for education, that was out of the question. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
All of Xu Mumu’s aunts were raised this way, so they had no experience when it came to educating children.
Listening to Xu Mumu, they wished they had a pen to jot it all down.
While listening, Lin Juan mumbled to herself, "This should work, right?"
Her eyes fell on her still clueless young son, wishing he would become her pride and her siblings-in-laws would be as impressive.
As they ate, she shared what she’d seen online and how her parents educated her in her past life.
Noticing how seriously they listened, Xu Mumu felt quite satisfied. It was good that the large Xu Family had divided; the troublemakers couldn’t create chaos anymore, and it was much more harmonious.
After educating her aunts, seeing their thoughtful expressions, Xu Mumu felt that was enough and stopped speaking.
The Xu Family was already quite well off, with no worries about food or drink, which made them pursue education more fervently. Xu Mumu naturally agreed with this; only by reading more books could one have a good future, rather than doing exhausting labor that earns little.
After lunch, Doudou started to doze off again, and Yin Yang took Xu Mumu back to the villa, while the Xu Family went to the main house to discuss things.
By the time they returned to the villa, the little one was already asleep.
"Your son sleeps like a little piglet," Xu Mumu gently patted the little one’s backside, but he didn’t react at all.
"It’s normal for kids to be sleepy, Mom. Do you want to go anywhere this afternoon?" Yin Yang asked with a smile.
"I want to go swimming in the back, care to join?" Xu Mumu didn’t want to go right now; it was hot, so she swam in the pool out back every day.
"Of course, I’ll come along." Yin Yang nodded with a smile, instructed Madam Chun to keep an eye on Doudou, and then they headed to the pool.
After changing into her swimsuit, Xu Mumu couldn’t wait to jump in.
In her past life, her university had a swimming class, and she was quite good at swimming.
Watching his wife swim back and forth like a mermaid, Yin Yang immediately jumped in too.
He had learned swimming from a young age; it was one of the essential skills.
"The water is so refreshing," Xu Mumu said excitedly.
"Yeah, it’s really refreshing," Yin Yang agreed, following beside her.
Soon, Xu Mumu realized this guy wasn’t being honest.
"What are you doing?" Xu Mumu felt her face flush to the point of steaming. Although Madam Chun probably wouldn’t come over, she couldn’t be sure. The important thing was that it was broad daylight, geez, and this guy couldn’t get enough of the night’s antics.
"Wifey, I’m uncomfortable," Yin Yang said pitifully, hugging his wife. He hadn’t intended to, but she was swimming right in front of him, with that tiny swimsuit fluttering, and he couldn’t resist.
Under Yin Yang’s gaze, Xu Mumu’s heart softened, and she felt a bit anxious.
Eventually, she gave in.
When they emerged from the pool, Xu Mumu was being carried by Yin Yang to bathe and rest, and as Madam Chun glanced at her, Xu Mumu felt like Madam Chun’s gaze had another meaning, making her too embarrassed to talk to her.
Madam Chun was aware of what happened by the pool; she was an old-timer and knew exactly what it was, and she was contemplating when the young lady would be born.
Xu Mumu slept until evening, and when she woke up, all the kids were there.
Madam Chun was in the kitchen, making Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, which is what the kids wanted to eat the most. But it wouldn’t be ready tonight, so they’d have to wait till tomorrow.
"Big sis, you sure napped for a long time. We’ve been playing here for quite a while," Xu Tao complained. But it was fun at big sis’s place; Doudou’s toys were plenty, and he liked several of them.
Xu Mumu’s face turned red as she fiercely glared at the calm person playing with their son.
"I didn’t sleep well the past few days; that’s why I’m extra tired today," she tried to explain, her face flushed.
Xu Xue also came to hang out, and she brought Xia Chengyuan with her.
Seeing Xu Mumu’s look, anyone could tell what happened. Xu Xue glanced silently at Xia Chengyuan. With graduation approaching, both families were discussing wedding dates.
Xia Chengyuan treated her well, and she quite liked him, so she looked forward to marriage even more.
"Are you all staying here tonight?" Xu Mumu asked, changing the subject with a smile.
"Yeah, yeah, we’ve already told our parents they’ll return tomorrow." Xu Jiaojiao said excitedly, having bought a lot today, shopping was just so fun.
"That’s good, then. Have Third Uncle and Fourth Uncle found a place to stay? Want to stay at my place?" Xu Mumu asked with a smile.
"No need, no need. My parents are staying where you used to live, and Third Uncle and Third Aunt are staying at Second Uncle’s house for the night. Aunt had something to do at home, so she went back." Xu Jiaojiao quickly explained the family’s arrangement.
"I see, that works. As long as they have a place to stay," Xu Mumu nodded. She left a set of keys with Li Caixia for their parents’ house, and since they moved out, Madam Chen often cleaned it.
"For sure, they’re all settled. My dad bought so many things today, he’s overjoyed," Xu Jiaojiao said, shaking a rattle to amuse Doudou, feeling quite happy.
"What did they buy?" Xu Mumu asked curiously, nibbling on a small piece of apple. Ever since Xu Jiaojiao’s family planted all sorts of fruit trees, Xu Mumu and her family hadn’t had to buy any fruit.
