A Beauty In An All-Male Alpha Academy
Chapter 327: Who The Fuck Is She?
The stares kept her eyes down the entire time. She did not want anyone to recognise her because all her effort to stay undercover would be ruined.
Angela kept glancing around, hoping Alex would return soon after getting a coat for her. She wished she had followed him, but it was too late now and crying about it would change nothing.
Suddenly, without warning, a familiar pair of hands wrapped around her waist and pulled her back against a hard chest. She froze for a second. Even without turning around, she already knew who it was. Her body reacted before her mind did and that alone annoyed her.
"I am not in the mood, Renn," she said, her voice tight as she tried hard to keep the frown on her face.
"Do not say that, baby," Renn murmured with his eyes closed. He kissed her cheeks slowly, and the simple touch almost made her turn around and kiss his lips, which only made her more upset.
"Are you bossing me around?" Angela’s eyes widened when she realised what she had just said. "Let go of me."
"I am sorry, babe. I did not mean it like that," Renn apologised quickly, but he still did not release her. He knew she was angry, and he also knew exactly how to calm her down.
Without giving her time to react, he swept her off her feet and carried her in his arms as he moved away. The shocked looks from the others made her bury her face in his chest, her heart racing from too many emotions at once.
"What the hell are you doing?" she asked, her arms tightening around his neck. Angela knew he would not let her fall, yet she still held on as if she needed him to keep her steady.
"Taking you somewhere they will not stare at you so much," Renn replied as he moved through the crowd. He kissed her forehead softly, then asked, "Are you mad at me? I felt it. Did I do something wrong? If I did, forgive me, babe."
"Stop acting like a saint, Renn," Angela rolled her eyes as she looked over his shoulder. He stopped near the oak tree where there were not many people around, and she finally felt her chest loosen a little.
She relaxed when she realised they were not students from the Alpha Academy. "Put me down, Renn."
"As you wish, my queen," Renn said gently as he placed her back on her feet. She stood there, trying to steady herself, but when he reached out to fix her hair, she slapped his fingers away.
"Woah, baby," he said softly. "Calm down."
"Calm down?" Angela snapped angrily as she ran her hands through her hair, trying to fix it even though her fingers were shaking. "You guys have been lying to me."
Renn’s heart skipped hard in his chest, but he forced himself to stay calm so she would not notice. Fear crept into him because Angela would not be this angry unless she had sensed something.
His mind went straight to Eliza, and the thought alone made his chest tighten. When he looked at her eyes, he saw fire burning in those beautiful hazel depths, the kind that came from deep hurt.
"Y you cannot even say anything," she said, her voice breaking as she crossed her arms and swallowed painfully. She nodded slowly as if accepting something bitter. "You guys are a bunch of disappointment."
"Oh my love, forgive us," Renn said softly as he stepped closer to her. "What did we do?"
"Who the fuck is Kaine?" Angela demanded, her face twisted with anger as she stared at him. She was not ready to hear excuses or lies this time.
"W what?" Renn frowned in real confusion because that name meant nothing to him. He truly had not expected that question, and it showed on his face. Who was that person and why was she bringing him up now?
"Do not act like you are shocked," she hissed as she looked straight into his eyes, daring him to lie.
Renn let out a small laugh as he moved closer and slid his hands around her waist. He was surprised when she did not pull away, and that gave him a little courage. "If you think I would cheat on you with any girl in this world, then you really have no idea how much I love you."
"It is not you, Renn," Angela said quietly.
"My brothers?" he asked, his voice turning serious.
"Yes. Kaito to be precise," Angela replied. The image of the photo flashed in her mind again, and she decided to push him further. "I found a photo of him with a girl in your form four. Do you know anyone with that name?"
"No, baby," Renn answered honestly. "I was not close to him in form four, but Kaito did not have a girlfriend."
"You think so?" Angela asked softly, her eyes never leaving his face.
"Yes, that is what Taros said, and I believe him because he was close to Kaito," Renn told her calmly. "Kaito was always secretive. People hardly know anything about the West Pack. We only know what they choose to tell us and nothing more."
"So there is a chance he never told you about this girl," Angela nodded slowly as the thought settled in her mind. If anyone would give her the truth, it would be Kaito himself. It had to be him.
"He said he never had a girlfriend," Renn added firmly. "I believe him because he would not lie about that."
Angela rolled her eyes because she refused to accept that answer. "Where are your brothers?"
"They are with the council," Renn replied as he gently squeezed her waist and pulled her closer to him. "Do you want me to do something?"
"No, Renn. I am already tired of your brothers’ lies," Angela said sharply. Then a memory flashed through her mind, the look on his face earlier when she accused them of lying. If there was nothing to hide, then why had he looked scared?
She was about to ask him when a strange feeling washed over her body. It felt like a pull, not strong enough to drag her away from Renn’s arms, but strong enough to make her pause. She frowned as she looked around, yet nothing seemed different. "Did you feel that?"
"What?" Renn asked softly as he lowered his face closer to hers. "Did something happen?"
"I felt a strange energy," Angela replied, confusion clear on her face. For a moment, she wondered if she was just tired and needed to go home.
"If you are not comfortable, then we could," Renn started, but he stopped when she suddenly spoke.
"Alex," Angela called out in surprise when she saw him. He was holding the coat, and relief filled her chest because he had finally returned. "I think he has been looking for me."
But Alex did not come to her. Instead, he handed the coat to one of the boys, pulled out his phone, and pressed it to his ear as he walked away.
Angela watched him leave, her heart sinking slightly, while the boy stepped forward and handed her the coat.
"Thank you," Angela said as she took the coat, still confused about why Alex had not come to her himself. Her eyes followed him for a moment before worry crept in. What could be so urgent that he could not even walk over to her? "Do you think he is avoiding me?"
"No, dear," Renn replied calmly as he looked toward the stage where the council members stood. "He is Kaito’s beta, and this is their pack. He probably has a lot of work to handle today."
Angela noticed his gaze linger on the stage before he leaned closer to her. His voice dropped into a whisper. "They are out."
"Yes," she said slowly, her eyes shifting back to Kaito. He was speaking with one of the council members and looked serious, too serious. "Do you think Kaito has been avoiding me?"
"No, baby," Renn frowned before kissing her neck softly. He took the coat from her hands and helped her put it on, settling it over her shoulders. "Stop thinking too much and enjoy the night."
She did not argue. Together, they moved through the crowd toward the area near the stage, but Renn was soon called away by his father and had no choice but to leave her there.
Standing among the gathering, Angela wished she had her phone. It was either with Seraphina or Hailey, and there was no way to reach them for now. The feeling of being alone made her chest tight.
She looked up at the stage, and her eyes met Kaito’s. Without thinking, she rolled her eyes and let out a small hiss, which only made him look confused. He quickly excused himself from the council member and walked toward her.
"Amor, are you mad at me?" he asked gently, but she did not answer. He sighed and nodded as if he already understood. "I guess that is my answer. I am sorry about earlier, but I had to speak with my father. Before I was done, the council summoned us. My brothers were not around, and I had to delay the meeting until"
"Who is Kaine?" Angela cut in as she crossed her arms over her chest. She watched his eyes widen in shock, and that only fueled her anger. "Who the fuck is she, Kaito?"
