Chapter 332: Never The Same

"Did you really think I would never find out?" Angela asked, her voice rising until it echoed through the space and made them tremble. She no longer cared who heard her. Her chest ached as the truth settled in. This was real. It was not some fake video or twisted lie. "Why am I even asking you?" she laughed bitterly. "This is stupid. I was stupid. When Miss Valois told me earlier, I doubted her. I should have listened."

Hiro opened his mouth but no words came out. He turned away and walked to the verandah stairs before sitting down heavily, his hands gripping his head as tears streamed down his face. His mind was full, too full, and the weight of it finally broke him.

"We were going to tell you everything," Taros said, but his voice shook and his words came out broken, like he was not even sure she could understand him.

"I can’t believe you hid the truth about Eliza from me," Angela cried as she stepped closer to them. Her sobs tore through her chest. "Why? Did I not deserve to know?"

"It was my decision," Kaito said calmly. There was no regret on his face now. He looked at Hiro and gave a small nod, as if telling him to stay back. "They did it against their wishes. This is on me."

"No, Kaito," Renn said sharply, shock clear in his voice. He could not believe Kaito was taking the blame again. They had all been involved, all of them had agreed to lie to her, and if there was blame or punishment waiting, then they would face it together.

"I killed Eliza," Kaito said, his eyes fixed on Angela. "My brothers only covered it up for me." His jaw tightened as he paused, swallowing hard before continuing. "They are not guilty. If anyone deserves punishment, it should be me."

Angela laughed, but there was nothing happy about the sound. Her chest ached from everything crashing down at once. She pressed her hand against her chest as if it could ease the pain. "So you want me to forgive them?" she asked bitterly. "What makes you think I will? They helped you. They are your accomplices."

"Did you not hear my explanation, Amor..."

"Do not call me that, Kaito," Angela cut in, her voice cold and steady. "You lost that right today." He showed no reaction, and that hurt her even more, making her want to scream, but she forced herself to stay calm. "You will call me by my real name. Do you understand?"

His left brow lifted slightly, as if he wanted to argue, but then he nodded without delay. The quick acceptance left everyone stunned. "Angela," he said softly. "I am the one at fault. You should forgive them. They cannot live without you. Taking you away from them is like killing them while asking if they should still breathe."

Angela bit down on her lower lip. A question burned inside her, one she wanted to ask so badly. Could he live without her too? But it was already too late for that. The man standing before her felt like a stranger. He spoke differently, carried himself differently. This was not the Kaito who had loved her since the day she woke up.

"Stop this," Renn snapped as he grabbed Kaito’s arm and pulled him back. Rage filled his face, stronger than what the others showed.

Angela watched them, her heart twisting in confusion. Was Kaito lying for them? Was he taking the blame for something he had not done, even now, even after everything?

"I will not accept it, Kaito," Hiro said as he stood up from the verandah and walked toward her. He glanced briefly at him before turning fully to Angela. "I am sorry for hurting you. I never meant for any of this to happen."

"It is already done, Hiro," Angela said as she stepped back from him. "There is no need to apologize anymore."

"They only lied because I asked them to," Kaito said, his voice filled with desperation as he tried to defend his brothers. "You cannot just push them away like this."

"I do not care," Angela said with a weak shrug, tears spilling from her hazel eyes. "It is better if we keep our distance. I wish I could reject you and stay away, but it is not possible, so I am leaving you all."

"What?" Taros and Renn shouted at the same time, panic clear in their voices.

"Are you sure, Angela?" Seraphina asked carefully, wondering if things had gone too far.

"Yes," Angela replied as she wiped her tears with her palm. "I would rather be alone than spend the rest of my life with people who will keep lying to me again and again." Her voice trembled as doubt crept into her heart. "Stay away from me, alphas. From today, Angela, your mate is dead. I am nobody to you."

"No," Renn rushed to her side, reaching for her hand, but she shot him a cold stare that made him stop. "You cannot do this to us... to you."

"Well, I am doing it," she said quietly, her shoulders lifting in a weak shrug.

"We will do whatever you want, just do not punish yourself like this," Taros began, but the words failed him before he could finish.

"Bye," Angela said as she turned and walked away, acting like none of it mattered anymore. Inside, her heart felt like it had been ripped out. She did not know if she would survive this pain, but she knew it was better than staying and being hurt over and over again.

"They are coming after you," Seraphina warned her.

"I will make sure they do not catch me," Angela replied. Using her primal speed, she raced through the pack houses, her breath uneven as she hoped her father would find her soon.

She sent him her location, trusting that even while she moved, he would still find her and take her away from this place that felt like hell.

Angela knew nothing would ever be the same after tonight. How was she supposed to leave without her mates? And what would her uncle do to them when he found out they had killed the mother of his child?
