Chapter 79: End Of Apocalypse

While the effects of Void were active, all abilities had been turned off, and Julie’s ability was no exception.

The connection to the outside world had been severed. None of the viewers outside the veil had witnessed what happened.

"What?! None of that was recorded?! No!!" Julie’s voice echoed throughout the town.

PA!

A loud slap followed her scream, "Should that really be your concern right now?!" Selena scolded.

Julie clutched her camera as tears streamed down her face.

Nicholas let out a sigh as he glanced toward the two women in the distance.

’How did I end up surrounded by such noisy people?’ He shook his head before looking back at the dragon’s corpse.

{-400 CP}

{Plague Touch cost}

Nicholas nearly coughed up blood as he saw the notification, astonished by the amount of Charm points he’d lost in an instant.

’Yeah there’s no way I’m using that skill again!’ he thought feeling slightly reaped by the system, how come it never told him cost before he’d used the ability.

’But its quite the helpful ability’ He thought looking at he thought as he glanced at the newly formed blade in his hands.

[But even in the apocalypse, humanity always found a way to survive.]

The heroes immediately frowned.

The voice echoed through the town once more.

Melody suddenly pointed toward a building in the distance.

Strangely, it remained untouched despite being close to the battlefield, almost as though the dragon had subconsciously avoided destroying it.

"She’s there!"

Melody’s voice rang out, "The Impure is inside that building!"

Nicholas instantly turned toward the structure.

Space warped around him and he disappeared in an instant.

[But what if there was something more... something dangerous enough to wipe out humanity entirely?]

[What could it be?]

[A new civilization?]

Everyone’s face lit up in horror, "This bitch!" One of the heroes clenched his fists as he glared at the building.

Nicholas appeared inside the room. A Thick miasma instantly surged toward him.

He ignored it completely.

His eyes fell upon the young girl sitting against the wall.

Joan appeared absent-minded.

Her eyes remained fixed on the book resting in her lap.

[I want a new—]

"Shut the fuck up."

Nicholas appeared beside her and slammed the hilt of his sword against the side of her head.

THUD.

Joan’s eyes rolled backward, she collapsed onto the floor unconscious.

Looking outside, the effects came instantly, the veil was lifted.

The warm sunlight flooded Denvi Town once more.

The sharp air that filled the entire space became lighter, The scent of decay lingering throughout the streets disappeared with it.

The corpses of zombies, orcs, lizardmen, and countless other monsters broke apart into glowing particles before fading into nothingness.

Only the stain of blood and the broken structures remained as a testament to the catastrophe that happened within the town.

With Apocalypse gone, Denvi Town lived to see the light of day once more.

Nicholas bathed in the warmth of the sun that came through the open window before turning his gaze back to the little girl.

"I wonder if all readers are crazy like she is... just what could be going on in their minds" He muttered as he lifted her effortlessly by the collar and then disappeared.

Reappearing right outside where all the others were.

"I believe this is the impure" Without ceremony, he dropped Joan onto the ground.

Everyone let out a sigh of relief as he dropped the girl to the ground.

[Yasrly: What the fuck happened! Where’s the dragon?]

[LordTee: How could they be action without me??!]

[Nobody1000: Hey! Give us a replay, no way we missed out on all that what the fuck happened]

Julie broke down into tears seeing the flood of comments, ’Why?! I was so close to crossing a five hundred thousand subscribers! An epic scene like that would’ve gotten me there for sure’ Julie thought, a tear slipping from her eyes as she fell to her knees dramatically.

Selena merely glanced at her before turning her gaze back to Nicholas.

None of the heroes took their eyes off him, after a long moment, Vixen let out a sigh, "Thank you for saving our lives" She said, she could still feel the cold sweat from the battle running down her face.

"Thank you" Pyron said from the side.

"You’re a true hero" Stelar witch said.

Nectron looked at the others as they spoke, he turned his gaze to Nicholas before letting out a sigh of defeat, "You’ve saved our lives, in a time when we had no hope. Thank you Phantom" Nectron said looking at him.

Nicholas ran his gaze through the group of heroes who all looked at him with thankful gazes, then he turned back to Selena, "Supervisor Selena, so how much will I be paid"

Selena felt a vein on her neck pop, "You—!" She struggled with the words, trying to lock up the horrendous words she was about to spit out.

Suddenly a loud laughter burst from the side, "Haha! You truly haven’t changed from the last time I met you. Still as unheroic as ever" Eric said as he walked into the scenery.

"Manager Eric!" All the heroes turned seeing him in his super costume, their gaze wide with surprise.

Eric coughed awkwardly hearing their words, "It’s Mightman" he muttered.

They collectively sighed, some slapping their faces in disappointment.

Eric didn’t mind them as he shifted his gaze to Nicholas.

"Well, it seems money is still the top of your priority here. But it’s alright, I’ll give you the evaluation" Eric said with a light chuckle.

"It’s a good thing the incident remained confined to Denvi Town." His expression became serious as he looked through the entire town structure.

"Because the Impure responsible for this possessed the potential for country-level destruction."

Everyone immediately froze.

Even Nicholas raised an eyebrow.

Eric continued.

"With minimal support, you neutralized the threat and captured the Impure." He paused.

"The valuation for a mission of this scale amounts to..."

Every pair of eyes focused on him, waiting for the final valuation.
