"Everyone! Get back!" Nicholas yelled, his voice echoing through the entire street.

But it almost seemed as though no one was listening.

The police were busy holding back the civilians, while the civilians had their phones out, recording everything that was happening.

Nicholas gritted his teeth and grabbed Selena.

"What are you—"

Before she could finish her sentence, the three disappeared.

In a flash, they teleported to several places until Nicholas finally stopped several meters away from the scene.

"What were you trying to warn us about?" Selena turned her gaze to Nicholas as they reappeared some meters away.

But Nicholas wasn’t looking at her, his gaze was fixed ahead.

His expression had gone stiff.

Selena noticed the eerie silence. the sirens from the police cars were no longer heard.

The chatter of the crowd was gone. She couldn’t hear. even the sounds of cars moving in the street away from them.

Everything had gone silent.

The only noticeable sound was the sound of the cool breeze whistling past them.

As though they were in a desolate land.

’It can’t be....’

Selena slowly turned her gaze fear filling her eyes ass he turned to look in the direction of the Raystar building.

Everything within a thousand-meter radius had been flattened. The police cars pressed to the floor like sheets of paper pressed flat.

The people disappeared, the only signs of them ever being there were the red imprints of their blood on the ground.

The buildings had collapsed. Compared to the people on the streets, they fared slightly better, but even they had been reduced to rubble.

And standing at the centre of all the chaos was the transformed Ronald, saliva dripping down his mouth as he stared at the three, unperturbed by the massacre he’d done around him.

Selena couldn’t believe her eyes.

’This scene...’

’It’s just like Dr. Bane...’ a tear slipped from her eyes as she saw the disaster that had been caused in an instant.

Several streets away, people had already begun running for their lives afraid that the tragedy that befell the other street could be theirs next, and while everyone was running coming in the opposite direction was Julie.

’Why’s everyone suddenly running, what’s going on.. no one’s explaining anything today’ Julie thought as she continued moving mindlessly, in a haste to catch up to Nicholas and Selena who had left her, but suddenly, she reached the end of the road.

’Huh? Isn’t there meant to be a road here?’ she thought as she stared up, her eyes went wide as she did the scene before her eyes making a cold shiver run down her spine.

An entire street had suddenly disappeared from the face of the city.

The residents were all dead, looking everywhere all they could see was blood and bodies scattered all over the place.

If they didn’t die from the force of gravity itself, then the force of the falling buildings ended their stories.

Nicholas eyes never left the Raystar building, he could feel his chest tighten.

Nicholas barely spared the ruined street a glance.

Thousands were dead, but his thoughts were elsewhere.

’Marina... Katie...’ Nicholas gaze was fixed on the rubble of whatever was left of the Raystar building behind Ronald.

His chest tightening as he looked at the building the anger in his chest slowly swelling,

But just then, the rubble moved, Nicholas eyes narrowed, his heart beating as he watched.

From the rubble a large hulking figure broke out from the metal bars and shards of glass that covered him.

From his massive frame even from the distance, Selena could make out his form.

"Sir Eric!"

Eric stood tall and mighty, all his muscles budged, shards of glass hanging off of them, gritting his teeth as he used his body to protect those below him, his blood dripping on them.

The two heroes he’d brought along with Marina and Katie, all lying below him. He smiled at them while holding up the metal rods.

"It’s alright.... Might man is here," He said with laboured breath.

Katie who had just woken up burst into tears seeing the bloodied hero say such words.

Even the two heroes beneath couldn’t help but frown as they rushed to support him, "Manager Eric, you shouldn’t have done that..." one of them said guilt filling his eyes as he watched Eric’s form barely able to stand.

"I was the one who brought the two of you out. I can’t let you die under my watch, besides, these two were there as well." He said his soft gaze landed on Marina and Katie., a reassuring smilecutting across his face.

Marina hugged Katie tightly in her arms, not wanting to let the little girl go, while the little girl let out a stream of tears on her sister’s shoulders.

Eric nudged off the last rod resting on his back as he stood tall, "Besides, that wasn’t enough to take me down" he said, his eyes shifting to the scenery and as it did, he paused in shock seeing the flattened street.

’Who did this?’ his gaze moved slowly, landing on Selena who looked terrified and then at Nicholas who didn’t seem to have any expression on his face, only a slight hint of relief, then the secretary who had already fainted and finally, his gaze landed on the figure closest to him.

’Councilor Ronald?’ he thought, but seeing the crazed look and seeing the pulsing black veins, his expression hardened.

’An impure’ he slowly walked out of the rubble, staring at Ronald who had turned his gaze to him after hearing the noise from his back.

"Look what you’ve done, you’ve killed thousands of people... All for what?" Eric gritted his teeth, his hands curling into a tight fist as rage filled his eyes.

"... It’s my fault, I was the one who decided to listen to the ambassador, I should’ve cleared out the reckless council when I had the chance!" Eric roared staring at Ronald who stared back at him without any expression, only the sleeking saliva falling from his mouth and his wide eyes staring at him.

Eric took a deep breath, "I’ll take responsibility for my mistake and I’ll end this mess" Eric took a step forward.

"Sir Eric!" The two heroes behind him yelled as they came in to support.

Eric raised a hand telling them to stop, "Take those two girls and get out of here. Everyone should leave! call all the heroes in the city for support. I’ll hold him down until the others come" Eric said shifting his gaze to Selena and Nicholas who stood in the distance.

"Sir Eric—!"

"Do as I said!" He yelled, throwing a sharp glance at the heroes and causing them to flinch, they urged Marina and Katie to stand, still reluctant to leave as they stared at Eric.

"Leave." Eric said once more and with hesitation the two heroes left with the siblings.

Eric turned his gaze back to Selena and Nicholas, "You two should leave too, I’ll hold him down till the other heroes come" Eric said firmly as he began moving towards Ronald.

Sensing the incoming threat, Ronald started muttering words again, this time his words weren’t anything human and sounded more like growls.

As Eric neared him, the crushing gravitational force bore down on him, causing his feet to sink into the earth.

But Eric didn’t stop, he kept moving, his body growing larger with each second.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Every step he took made the earth below his feet shudder as the gravity pressing on him increased, blood trickled down his nose.

His eyes went white, but Eric kept moving forward, his body soon forming into a metallic sheen.

Several spatial slashes shot at him screeching harmlessly across his metallic skin.

In a few steps, Eric now stood towering over Ronald.

"Today I will correct the mistakes I made over the past few years!" Eric muttered as he raised his fist, the gravity pulling down on him with everything.

The Crazed Ronald stared at Eric’s massive frame that had almost tripped his, the gravity increased with every passing second.

But Erics fist didn’t stop.

Eric’s fist came crashing down.

And the world fell silent.
