A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire
Chapter 1069: Quarrel!
Early in the morning, Zhuang Chujiao woke up feeling as if her body had been crushed by stones, sore and aching.
Recalling the scene from last night, a slight smile lifted the corners of her mouth, and a hint of pride gleamed in her eyes.
She glanced out the window; it was not too early. There should be some commotion by now.
Sure enough, soon there were sounds of a disturbance coming from outside.
Zhuang Chujiao ignored her body’s discomfort, put on her clothes, and went out the door.
Just then, Liang Rong came up and, seeing her daughter’s tired eyes, asked, "Why are you up so late? Didn’t sleep last night?"
Zhuang Chujiao had wanted to sleep last night, but someone wouldn’t allow it.
Sweetness lingered in her heart, but she maintained a serious facade and whispered, "Mom, given the situation yesterday, how could I sleep at all? What’s happening now?"
Liang Rong did not approve of her daughter framing Mu Yan at the Zhuang Family. But since it only involved Mu Yan, Jiang Jingheng, and Guan Chao, she didn’t insist on opposing it.
After all, even if she disagreed, would her daughter really listen?
It was better to let her act on her own intentions than to risk her doing something uncontrollable.
"They’re arguing. Nuannuan says she wants a divorce."
Upon hearing this, Zhuang Chujiao’s eyelids twitched. Divorce, huh? That was good.
As long as she divorced Jiang Jingheng, she could become Mrs. Jiang. As for Guan Chao and Jiang Yutai, she didn’t want any of them.
Liang Rong saw through her daughter’s thoughts and frowned, saying, "Don’t get any unrealistic ideas. When have two sisters ever married the same man?"
"Mom, what era are we in? Who cares about that stuff?" Zhuang Chujiao was a bit displeased.
"Shut your mouth. If you don’t want your father to kick you out, you’d better behave," Liang Rong warned.
Zhuang Chujiao pursed her lips and kept silent.
Anyway, she was determined to marry Brother Jingheng. After all, she was already his.
"I’m going to see what they’re arguing about." She said this and walked down the hallway.
Inside the room, Mu Yan sat on the bed, her face serious, but unable to hide her weariness.
Jiang Jingheng stood beside her, looking at her with a somewhat heavy expression. Neither of them spoke.
"Why are you acting so childish? Fighting like this?" Ruan Xinyu tried to mediate with Mu Yan, "It takes a hundred years of cultivation to cross the same river, a thousand years to sleep in the same bed. It’s not easy being a couple. How can you talk about divorce so lightly?"
Mu Yan turned her face away, tears streaming down.
"Nuannuan, don’t cry. Tell me, what’s really going on?" Ruan Xinyu, exasperated by the situation, had been listening to their loud arguments about divorce all morning, yet she couldn’t understand what they were fighting over.
One had a stern face, the other cried. Neither wanted to yield, which frustrated her.
Mu Yan sniffed and said, "Anyway, I won’t stay with him. Whoever wants to be with him can go ahead and do so."
She turned and glared stubbornly at Jiang Jingheng.
Zhuang Chujiao was at the door and happened to hear this, feeling quite delighted. She asked, "Nuannuan, what are you and Brother Jingheng fighting about?"
She looked towards Jiang Jingheng, her eyes filled with affection, "Brother Jingheng, what happened? Whatever it is, you should talk it over with Nuannuan."
Jiang Jingheng didn’t even glance at her, walked over to Mu Yan, and whispered, "Don’t talk nonsense. I don’t agree."
Zhuang Chujiao’s expression changed slightly, staring at Jiang Jingheng in disbelief.
What did he mean by that, forgiving Mu Yan? He... he could even tolerate being cuckolded? Is he still a man?
Mu Yan looked at him, gritting her teeth, "Fine, not divorcing is also fine. But what really happened last night? Just say it!"
Jiang Jingheng looked at her, remaining silent.
"What, feeling guilty, scared to talk?" Mu Yan sneered, "Do you want me to say it for you? Don’t blame me for being blunt then."
Zhuang Chujiao’s gaze shifted between the two. Clearly, Brother Jingheng should be the angry one, yet the reasoning seemed to lie with Mu Yan. He seemed like the guilty party, letting her scold him.
A sudden suspicion arose in her mind: could it be that Guan Chao slipped away this morning, and Brother Jingheng didn’t notice?
Instead, Mu Yan took the initiative to accuse him of staying out all night?
