A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire
Chapter 1145: Aggrieved!
In the infirmary, Mu Yan took off her shoes. Her right ankle was bruised, and her entire foot was swollen like a bear’s paw, the fair skin tinged with purple, looking quite unsightly.
Jiang Jingheng held some medicinal wine, applying it on her under the doctor’s guidance.
Mu Yan pressed her lips together. Though it hurt badly, she endured it, her gaze fixed on the man beside her.
Anyone could sense the low pressure around him; he was really angry.
It wasn’t long before the medicinal wine was applied, but there was no way she could wear shoes.
Jiang Jingheng carried her out of the hospital, heading straight to the parking lot.
On the way, everyone saw a handsome and dashing man carrying a woman in his arms. Unfortunately, the woman’s face was obscured by his suit, but just from her figure, one could vaguely tell she should be quite beautiful.
Throughout the journey, Jiang Jingheng didn’t utter a word. Mu Yan wanted to speak several times, but he completely ignored her, leaving her feeling quite frustrated.
Finally returning home, Yu Ma saw her swollen foot and asked, "Young Madam, what happened to your foot?"
"I accidentally twisted my ankle," Mu Yan replied.
"Did you apply medicine? Let me get some ice for you to apply a cold compress."
"No need. I’ve already applied medicinal wine at the hospital," Mu Yan replied.
"So, what would you like to eat? I’ll prepare it for you," Yu Ma said again.
"No trouble at all," she replied.
"It’s necessary. I’ll make some soup for you at noon. You’re too thin; you need to nourish yourself," Yu Ma said as she headed to the kitchen on her own.
Mu Yan wanted to stop her but couldn’t in time. Once Yu Ma left, Jiang Jingheng directly carried her upstairs.
In the bedroom, Jiang Jingheng laid her on the bed, covered her with a blanket, and was about to leave. Just as he turned, his sleeve was grabbed.
He turned back to look at the hand clutching his sleeve, then caught sight of her watery eyes.
She looked a bit aggrieved and said, "Don’t be angry. I know I was wrong."
"What was wrong," Jiang Jingheng’s voice was a bit hoarse.
Mu Yan pressed her lips together, "I shouldn’t have kept it from you. I won’t do it again. Please don’t ignore me."
"You worried too?" Jiang Jingheng asked.
Mu Yan looked at his indifferent expression, feeling a bit wronged.
She didn’t want to be a burden to him at that time. Was that wrong?
Besides, when he left with his brother, he didn’t have her in his eyes at all.
She knew she shouldn’t blame him, but he couldn’t be angry with her over this.
Suddenly, she let go of him, covered her head with the blanket, and didn’t want to talk to him anymore, but tears of grievance couldn’t help but fall.
Before she met him, she wasn’t one to cry easily. But whenever she felt the slightest grievance, she would break down in front of him because of how good he was to her.
What she didn’t see was the deep guilt in Jiang Jingheng’s eyes at that moment, blaming himself for neglecting her.
He’d rather she yelled at him than see her swallowing her grievances.
Seemingly hearing her sobs, Jiang Jingheng felt a pang in his heart. He immediately pulled the blanket back and saw her covering her face, tears streaming down her cheeks, her makeup smeared, and her hair sticking to her face. The more wronged she looked, the more wronged she felt.
Seeing him looking at her, Mu Yan felt a bit annoyed, turned over, wanting to turn her back to him, but accidentally touched her sprained foot. She gasped in pain, her face turning pale.
Suddenly, she felt herself being lifted. Looking up, she met his light brown eyes.
He kissed her cheek, his voice tense and frantic, "I’m sorry. It’s all my fault. I didn’t protect you well. My darling, Little Sunflower, I’m sorry. There won’t be a next time. Please don’t be angry with me."
