Though the voice sounded more unfamiliar than familiar, Clara Grant instantly knew who it belonged to.

Clara Grant instinctively peeked inside. When she saw the scene clearly, even though she had mentally prepared herself, it was as if a bomb had gone off in her head. She just stood there, stunned, forgetting how to react.

’Autumn Shelby... She really did stay the night with Seth Quinn! Why else would she be here so early in the morning?’

Not only had they spent the night together, but at this very moment, Autumn Shelby and Seth Quinn were locked in an intimate embrace.

They were both turned sideways to her. From her angle, it looked as if they were sharing a passionate kiss.

Clara Grant wanted to run, but her feet were frozen in place. She clutched the strap of her backpack so tightly it felt as if she might snap it in two at any second.

’Did they have to be so affectionate with the door wide open? Did they have to shove a scene like this right in my face?’

’Seth Quinn knew perfectly well I was coming over, yet he’s still so brazenly putting on this affectionate show with another woman. How little must he care about my feelings?!’

The two people inside seemed to stir. Panicked, Clara Grant ducked to the side and pressed herself against the wall.

She had been bracing herself all last night and the entire way here today. The whole reason she’d come was to finalize the divorce with Seth Quinn, after which they would go their separate ways.

’Besides, it was only natural to see Autumn Shelby and Seth Quinn being affectionate. They were a loving couple to begin with, and they hadn’t seen each other in so long. After reuniting and making up, it was only natural for sparks to fly. It would be strange if they *weren’t* all over each other.’

But no matter how well she had prepared herself, it all came crashing down at this moment.

She still couldn’t summon the courage to walk in and confront the intimate scene before her.

Clara Grant gritted her teeth and cursed herself under her breath. "Clara Grant, how can you be so pathetic? He’s just a man you’ve known for a few months. Is he really worth all this?"

But before she could think any further, Autumn Shelby’s voice drifted out again. "Seth, I came looking for you."

Autumn Shelby’s gaze swept around the living room. "It’s been a long time since I was last here," she continued. "I’ve really missed it."

As she spoke, her gaze fell upon Seth Quinn. Looking at his handsome, chiseled face, she thought he seemed even more captivating than he had over a year ago.

Autumn Shelby’s eyes were filled with affection. She parted her lips, her voice a soft, intimate whisper. "But the one I’ve missed more... is you, Seth."

’She had taken the initiative to embrace him just now, but he hadn’t reacted at all. In fact, the moment he registered what was happening, he had pushed her away.’

’But so what? She’d been gone for over a year. He had every right to be angry and resentful. His anger meant that she still held a place in his heart.’

’She used to always feel that he didn’t care about her, didn’t value her, didn’t love her. But she didn’t care about that anymore. His personality had always been aloof; he treated everyone with a kind of cool indifference.’

’So, it was perfectly normal for him not to be expressive about his feelings for her.’

’Now, all she wanted was for him to forgive her and take her back. If they could be together again, she would be completely satisfied.’
