Chapter 317: Chapter 310: Until You No Longer Have the Strength to Mention It

Clara Grant thought he was about to get fresh with her again and tried to pull away, but his gaze landed on the backpack still slung over her shoulder.

Seth Quinn was amused. He had been in such a rush to explain things that he hadn’t even noticed her bag, and somehow, she hadn’t remembered to take it off either, wearing it this whole time.

Her bag looked pretty full, and Seth Quinn couldn’t help but ask, "Why did you bring a packed bag? Are you planning on staying for a while? Even if you were, you wouldn’t need to bring anything. This place has everything you need. If it’s not enough, we can always buy more."

Only then did Clara Grant realize she was still wearing her bag. She shrugged it off and tossed it aside, pouting as she said, "Who said anything about staying here?"

After saying that, she added in a quiet, grumbling mutter, "It’s only because I thought you called me over to divorce me!"

Her voice was quiet, but Seth Quinn was close enough to hear her. He arched an eyebrow and asked, "And so?"

Without waiting for her to answer, he continued, answering his own question, "So, you were thinking that after the divorce, you’d go stay with your mother for a few days?"

Clara Grant mimicked him, arching an eyebrow of her own and replying defiantly, "That’s right. You ruined my shoot anyway, so I figured I might as well go see my mom and spend a few days with her."

Seth Quinn didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ’Heh, this woman,’ he thought. ’Sometimes her mind is so simple, and other times she overthinks things to an incredible degree.’

"Divorce? Woman, you’ve really got some nerve! When have I ever given you the impression that I wanted to divorce you?"

"Well, you’re the one who wasn’t clear! You just said on the phone to come over so we could ’talk.’ You didn’t say what we were going to talk about. I... of course I assumed you wanted to discuss a divorce."

"Fine, it’s my fault. I wasn’t clear." Seth Quinn gave a resigned smile. ’Even if I wasn’t clear, she didn’t have to jump straight to divorce, did she?’

’If he didn’t know that she had feelings for him too, he might have actually thought she was still as eager to divorce him as she used to be.’

Seth Quinn took her by the shoulders and turned her to face him. His expression grew serious as he said, "Then let me make things crystal clear right now. Clara Grant, from now on, don’t you ever even think about divorce. I wasn’t joking when I said I would never divorce you. For the rest of your life, you can only be my wife. My woman! Got it?"

His tone was incredibly domineering and forceful. Clara Grant huffed, lifting her chin slightly as she said defiantly, "And we can’t get a divorce just because you say so? I’m not your property. A woman has the right to file for divorce, too."

Even as she said it, though, she felt a sliver of sweetness in her heart at his possessive words.

"You dare bring up divorce? Just you try it!" A smirk played on Seth Quinn’s lips. "I’ll punish you every single time, until you don’t have the strength left to even say the word!"

As he spoke, he leaned in closer. Clara Grant, of course, knew exactly what kind of "punishment" he meant. Blushing, she quickly pressed her hands against his chest and surrendered, "Okay, okay, okay! I won’t bring it up! I won’t!"

"That’s my good girl." Pleased, Seth Quinn reached out to ruffle her hair, then gave her two more quick pecks on the lips. "A reward for you."

Clara Grant: "..."

’Is he a chicken? Are there grains of rice on my lips? He just keeps pecking and pecking!’
