Clara Grant clamped one hand over her eyes, pointing an accusing finger at Seth Quinn with the other. "You, you, you! Why are you taking your clothes off?"

Seth Quinn was unfazed by her overreaction. He even seemed to be teasing her on purpose, turning from his sideways stance to face her directly. "I’m changing. Of course I have to take off what I’m wearing first."

Clara had planned to peek through the gaps in her fingers to see if he’d gotten dressed or covered up. But she never expected that the moment she spread her fingers even slightly, she’d be met with the stunning sight of a gorgeous, half-naked man.

Startled, she quickly clamped her hand over her eyes again. "You... Hurry up and put your clothes on!"

’He must be doing this on purpose!’

’Why wouldn’t he change earlier or later? He just had to take his clothes off the moment I came out.’

’And he took... everything off!’

Seth Quinn raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "What are you so shy about? You’re my wife. Isn’t it normal for a wife to see her husband’s body? Besides, it’s not like you haven’t seen it before."

As he spoke, he calmly started to put on his clothes, then took two steps toward Clara Grant.

His footsteps were light, but Clara seemed to hear them anyway. She scrambled back two steps, holding out a hand to stop him. "Don’t come any closer! Get dressed first!"

’Even though they were husband and wife, and even though she’d already seen every last inch of him, this... this was different.’

Seth Quinn laughed out loud. "You were peeking!"

He took two more steps forward. "You can’t see clearly when you peek. If you really want to look, I can stand right here and let you admire me to your heart’s content."

Clara continued to back away, retorting with a hint of annoyance, "Who was peeking?! Your body is in such bad shape, what’s there to admire?"

"My body is in bad shape?" Seth Quinn kept walking forward. "If you call my body bad, then there aren’t any men with good bodies in this world."

"...That’s just your blind confidence!" ’Though she had to admit, his body really was good. So good that just now, she couldn’t help but want to peek a little longer through her fingers.’

"Is that so?" Seth Quinn flashed a wicked, playful grin. "Then I’ll just have to let you have a good, long look so you can see for yourself whether I’m being blindly confident!"

Clara was about to bite the bullet and drop her hand. ’Fine, I’ll look! Who’s afraid of who?’

But her body and mind weren’t in sync. Despite her thoughts, she kept her eyes squeezed shut and continued to back away.

What she didn’t realize, however, was that she had retreated all the way to the bathroom doorway. Her back suddenly hit the door.

Hitting the door wouldn’t have been a big deal. Her movements weren’t forceful, so it wouldn’t have hurt much.

The problem was, the bathroom door wasn’t properly closed. Her light bump pushed it open, and her body instantly started to fall backward.

"Ah!"

The scare made her instinctively throw her hands out to regain her balance, and her tightly shut eyes flew wide open.

The instant she started to fall, Seth Quinn cursed inwardly and shot forward in a single bound.

He caught her just before she could hit the ground.

Clara was tilted back at a forty-five-degree angle, her hands outstretched in mid-air, her mouth slightly agape, and her eyes fixed on the handsome face so close to hers, which was clearly etched with worry.

Seth Quinn stared back at her. For a moment, the two of them locked eyes, and time seemed to stand still.

Clara felt a soft, delicate sound echo deep in her heart. ’It was like the sound of a flower blooming.’

Seth Quinn was the first to snap out of it. He asked worriedly, "Clara, are you okay?"
