Clara Grant’s face scrunched into a frown. He was a dangerous man in her eyes, and she was afraid to be with him tonight.

"It’s so late tonight. How about you meet my mom tomorrow instead?"

"It’s fine, I don’t mind the time," Seth Quinn said, gesturing for her to get in the car again.

"But..." Clara Grant held the car door with her hand, refusing to get in.

"Do I need to carry you in?" Seth Quinn raised an eyebrow and bent over, making a show of preparing to lift her.

Clara Grant’s face flushed red again. She subconsciously glanced at Chase Childs, who was standing to the side. Realizing Seth Quinn was determined to come along, she could only surrender in resignation. "No, that’s okay. I’ll get in myself."

With that, she shot Seth Quinn a resentful glare.

’Fine, if he wants to come, let him. I’ll just figure out a way to send him home once we get there.’

Seth Quinn pretended not to notice. A slight smile touched his lips as he got into the car after her.

The car soon arrived at the foot of Clara Grant’s apartment building. They both got out, and Seth Quinn trailed right behind her. Clara Grant looked back at him, her mouth opening to speak, but she ultimately said nothing.

Upstairs, Clara Grant used her key to open the door. Skylar Hayes was in the kitchen cooking. When she heard the door open, she immediately came out. Seeing her daughter, she called out happily, "Clara, what brings you back?"

The words were barely out of her mouth when she saw Seth Quinn behind her daughter. She froze for a second, then her expression grew even more joyful. ’Clara is willing to bring Seth home! Does this mean she’s finally accepted him and is ready to announce their marriage?’

Seeing that her mother’s first words had given her away, Clara Grant coughed awkwardly and shot Skylar Hayes a meaningful look. "Mom, didn’t I call and tell you I was coming? How could you forget?"

Although Skylar Hayes didn’t know what her daughter was up to, she played along. "Oh, right! Look at me, you did call. It completely slipped my mind."

Then, she greeted Seth Quinn. "Seth, you’re here too. Please, have a seat."

Clara Grant sensed something was off. "Seth? Mom, since when are you two so close?"

Skylar Hayes remembered that Seth Quinn had told her and his parents about the marriage behind Clara’s back. Afraid she would let it slip and Clara would blame him, she quickly came up with an excuse. "It’s because of Cherie. I go to see her, and Seth is sometimes there too. We just got to know each other over time."

"Oh," Clara Grant said, understanding. Then, as if remembering something, she shyly linked her arm with his and said to Skylar Hayes, "Mom, let me give you a proper introduction. This is my... boyfriend, Seth Quinn."

’She had originally planned on telling Skylar Hayes that they were already married, but she was afraid it would be too sudden and shock her. Skylar Hayes froze. ’Boyfriend? Aren’t they already married? What is she talking about, ’boyfriend’?’

’*Sigh.* Oh well. The fact that Clara is willing to admit Seth is her boyfriend means she’s starting to accept him.’

After making the introduction, Clara Grant turned to Seth Quinn. "Seth, this is my mom."

They already knew each other, of course, but their relationship was different now, so she felt a formal reintroduction was necessary.
