"Besides, I got them for a really low price. Why would they sell me real bullets for so cheap?"

Faye Jennings paused for a moment before saying, "Maybe they were just desperate to offload their stock. Something is better than nothing. Selling them cheap is better than not selling them at all."

Faye Jennings’ words dispelled Sandra’s suspicion, and she became panicked once more. "Then... then what do I do? If President Quinn finds out it was me, I’m finished! Faye, you have to save me. You’re the only one on the whole crew I can turn to."

Faye Jennings nodded reassuringly. "Don’t worry, I’ll help you. After all, you didn’t mean to hurt anyone; you just wanted to pull a prank. The most important thing now is not to panic. Look at everyone else—they’re all calm. You’re the only one on edge. When the police arrive, they’ll definitely suspect you."

Sandra glanced at the people scattered in the distance, then nodded at Faye Jennings and forced herself to calm down. "Okay, I understand, Faye. I’ll be calm. I will."

"Good. Now, don’t think about any of this. Go talk to the others. You need to make everyone believe you’re just as innocent as they are." As she spoke, Faye Jennings patted Sandra’s shoulder and gave her an encouraging nod.

"Okay," Sandra replied. She straightened her posture, took a deep breath to compose herself, glanced back at Faye Jennings one last time, and then walked toward the others.

Faye Jennings watched Sandra walk away, a cold, sinister smile playing on her lips. Her mind drifted back to a scene from a few days earlier...

After they finished filming a scene, Sandra had run over to chat. The two of them spent a few minutes complaining about what a pain it was to shoot outdoor scenes in the middle of summer, especially having to wear so many layers in the heat.

After that, Sandra’s tone had turned jealous as she brought up Clara Grant. "Some people have it so easy, don’t they? Now that she’s latched onto someone powerful and has a backer, she can film when she feels like it and take time off when she doesn’t."

"Hmph. She’s just a rookie, but she acts like a bigger star than you, Faye. It really pisses me off. I’m pissed off for you! You’re Aegis’s top actress, a genuine, bona fide A-lister."

"Besides, you’ve known President Quinn for five or six years! You were by his side all that time, only to have him stolen away by a nobody like Clara Grant. Tell me that’s not a raw deal!"

Sandra had intended these words to curry favor with Faye Jennings, but this was the one topic Faye couldn’t stand anyone bringing up. Her expression darkened instantly.

She lowered her gaze, and when she looked up again, her expression was back to normal. She gave a faint smile. "Well, what can you do? She’s proactive and knows what she’s doing. No matter how much self-control a man has, he can’t resist a woman who repeatedly throws herself at him."

"Hmph. Don’t worry, Faye. I bet President Quinn is just playing around with her. You don’t think he’d actually marry her, do you?" Sandra chimed in. "Besides, look at her now, and they’re not even married. She’s already stealing my roles, taking days off whenever she wants without a thought for the production, and she doesn’t even show you any respect. Can you imagine what it would be like if she actually became the president’s wife? It would be a disaster!"

She sighed. "Ah, I just wish there was a way to make her suffer a little, to take her down a peg and teach her some manners!"

Faye Jennings mused aloud, "She’s President Quinn’s girlfriend now. How could we possibly get to her?"

Then she changed the subject. "Let’s not talk about this. By the way, we’re both in that gun scene with Clara Grant. You should study the script carefully so you’re not completely overshadowed by her when we film."

As she spoke, she covered her mouth with her hand as if she’d just thought of something hilarious. "Tell me," she said with a laugh, "what if, during filming, the gun fired something that couldn’t hurt anyone, but would give them a good scare? Do you think Clara Grant would be scared out of her wits? She’d be a complete laughingstock."
