A Sorcerer’s Journey
Chapter 1170 - 1171: Exploration
Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch...
With footsteps on Skeleton Land, Green’s solitary figure followed the guidance of the Hope Light Shroud within the Robe of Appearances, proceeding slowly through the World of Retrogressive Luminance, and confirmed the surrounding invisible Temporal Fault hazards through the echoed "crunch, crunch".
Nonetheless, the danger of the Temporal Faults still existed, some tiny faults wouldn’t produce echoes.
However, correspondingly, they wouldn’t pose threats to Green, who had superb regenerative abilities.
"Hmm?"
After a light query from Green, he brushed aside the floating Scepter of Hope which was pointing in another direction, raised his hand, and after a wave of Gravity, collected a piece of bone that was completely different from those he had stepped on before.
Rather than calling this a bone, it was more accurate to say it was the shell remains of some large insect, black, red, and green intermingling, starkly visible in the endless white and pale golden Skeleton Land.
Only, unfortunately, it was impossible to know how many years it had been silent here, and it had weathered to this state.
"Could it be the remnants of another biological group?"
Thinking this, Green started from this fragmented large insect shell, searching all around for potential traces of black, red, and green shells.
After searching for several sandglass time units, regrettably, Green couldn’t find any.
At this moment, Green couldn’t help but consider some terrifying possibilities: that they were lives like his own, either strayed or sealed in the World of Retrogressive Luminance.
Picking up a piece of shell fragment, the three-colored light eyes under the Face of Truth flickered; the too distant years had drained this shell essence entirely, rendering it extremely fragile. However, through detailed observations via the Face of Truth, by connecting residual evidence across the river of time, and employing the Wisdom of the Wizard, Green gradually hypothesized and reconstructed the general demeanor of the creature to which this shell fragment belonged.
"Indeed, this was a Level Six Creature, and even among Level Six Creatures, it was by no means weak. This defense-focused shell, when the creature was alive, could grant it terrifying defenses against any attacks below ten thousand degrees."
Throwing away the shell in hand, the three-colored light eyes under the Green Truth Mask gazed into the distance; deep inside, he grew increasingly cautious of this Illusory World.
...
Unconsciously, two months had passed.
Seemingly, Green’s former worries were purely redundant. During these two months, the bones beneath his feet had changed from pale golden to boundless gray-white, clearly left by different biological groups, for now, Green hadn’t encountered any living creatures.
Is this Illusory World too vast?
Or is... the interaction among the lives here so infrequent that an encounter between two lives becomes a highly improbable event?
Layers of Elemental Wave Patterns wound into Green’s body; one of the perks of being an Elemental Wizard was achieving the status of an Official Sorcerer, comprehending the Force of Nature, able to subsist on elements, thus not worrying about starving in extreme conditions.
"Hmm, more biological remnants again?"
Green noticed the bones beneath his feet had transformed again, into some semi-transparent crystal stone structure of biological remains, blocks and chunks, grains and granules, and upon picking up a piece, found it remarkably heavy.
With a "thump," the semi-transparent crystal stone fragment fell to the ground, sounding like metal collision friction.
Green’s wizardly sensitivity to energy detected a faint energy fluctuation underground. With cautious curiosity, Green quickly excavated; shortly, a crystal ball-like crystal stone appeared in Green’s hand, dazzlingly radiant and beautiful.
"What astonishing density and hardness! Unfortunately, the energy it once contained has completely drained away; otherwise, if the energy remained, its value would undoubtedly be above the extreme cold crystal of the extreme abyss magic staff."
With some regret, such precious divine artifact resources sadly lost their value in the river of history, indeed a sigh-inducing reality.
...
Unconsciously, another month had passed.
The bones and remnants beneath his feet had swapped twice already, and Green had been harmed by untraceable tiny Temporal Faults dozens of times; for the current Green, being injured by these undetectable tiny Temporal Faults and potentially rampant Temporal Storms had become part of everyday life, not worth being startled about.
With steadfast footsteps, Green came to this world’s purpose, searching for the Sovereign of the Light of Hope’s corpse, while treating the mysterious item guided by the Scepter of Hope as a secondary goal.
Simultaneously, Green’s hand held a bracelet made from dozens of peculiar teeth, possessing some temporal powers, though only superficial like that ancient hanging clock, yet enough to purify the Deceiver’s Trick Crystal Terminator Sage’s Stone.
Treasures preserved in this Illusory World generally possess some ability to resist temporal erosion.
Crunch, crunch, crunch...
Multi-tasking, Green advanced slowly in the direction guided by the Hope Light Shroud, while silently studying the Life Key Genetic Domain knowledge, distracting himself from the uncertain "exile" time duration.
In such a deep Illusory World, time holds no significance to the Material World; here lies on the periphery of the Endless World, the Balance Rules barely impacting.
Precisely due to such unpredictability, Green would arrange temporal treasures and collaborate with the Hope Light Shroud for a retreat plan when executing the radiation grand world task; previously bidding farewell by arranging affairs for his three disciples in Wizard World.
The strength of the Space-Time Sealing Technique lies precisely here.
Perhaps after spending a few eras in deep spectral space-time, it equates merely to a daze for the Material World, or perhaps after a mere moment in deep Illusory World, thousands of years, a few eras might have passed for the Material Worlds, results in drastic change and civilization’s downfall.
Even if those sealed by the Space-Time Sealing Technique miraculously escape the Illusory World, they might emerge hundreds of world clusters away within the Endless World, so distant even for the Endless Dominators.
Such considerations render the Space-Time Sealing Technique formidable for the sealed; unless the Caster actively releases them, wherein there is only one scenario: preparation for thorough precautions, as returning from deep Illusory World to the Material World would still be inevitable death.
"Huh!?"
While progressing with head down, seeking echo orientations, Green was suddenly disturbed by miscellaneous sound waves and looked up in amazement.
Indeed...
Indeed, there were massive heaps and seas of enormous metallic Mecha remnants, some even remained standing in original design forms; although time had decayed them, they were not reduced to fragments like biological bones, indicating these Mechas’ combat capabilities!
The tall reaching thousands of meters, while the small being only one or two meters, boast diverse shapes, yet they embodied elementary design principles distinct from Metal Destroyer civilization’s war art pieces, rather resembling those of Wizard World, merely conceived for primordial iron and fire war collisions.
"Roar... food..."
An incredibly swift life energy fluctuation roared out from the metal forest, startling Green who hadn’t seen a real-life entity for months.
