A Sorcerer’s Journey
Chapter 1174 - 1175: Ant Swarm
"Roar, push harder, we’re almost through!"
Simba shouted as he transformed into a massive golden lion hundreds of meters tall after opening his true body. Together with Green, who had transformed into the Barbarian Giant Sun Chaser, they relentlessly dragged the endlessly terrified and struggling Level Five giant monster into the World of Retrogressive Luminance.
No matter how desperately the fearsome giant monster, which had wreaked havoc among the Leaf Sprites, roared in terror and struggled desperately, it was useless. Instead, it fueled an unusual sense of fervor within Green and Simba, akin to a giant python tightening around its prey, continuously unleashing their greater strength.
The Level Five giant monster was quite strong, yet it paled in comparison to Green and Simba, who wielded the retrogressive luminance rules that aided in pulling and sealing.
"What are we to them now?"
Unlike Simba, Green was contemplating more deeply. Through the rift, he gazed into the real world, separated like a crystal ball’s light curtain, seeing the Leaf Sprites shouting, praying, hoping devoutly, and even some holding hands, singing.
That image of the whole world united as one, resisting the invasion of the Foreign Evil God, etched itself into Green’s eyes.
To defend the Mother Realm from being trampled mercilessly by the Foreign Evil God, over twenty Level-3 Peak Leaf Sprite Kings sacrificed their worldly treasures for purification and their lives, summoning powerful sealers like Green and Simba through Retrogression of Flowing Light and Dimensional Esophagus.
It’s certain that in these casters’ eyes, Green and Simba are no longer the forms they once were but appear in another form, perhaps even as some rule phenomenon akin to the Forgotten Sweat Monster summoned by Green.
"Roar!"
With one final roar, the Level Five giant monster was wholly dragged into the World of Retrogressive Luminance by Green and Simba, into this hopeless Deep Illusionary World.
As the giant monster entered the illusory world, "pop," it was instantly enveloped by gray mist from all directions, and amidst helpless yet futile struggles in fear, it gradually vanished. It transformed from a real creature into an illusory creature in a way beyond Green’s comprehension, ascending to a higher dimension, a side of the Dimensional Esophagus unknown to exiles like Green and Simba.
Huff, huff, huff...
Simba breathed heavily; prolonged hunger left him destitute, and with only a moment’s stalemate, he seemed exhausted, whereas Green was just beginning to exert his strength.
Although possessing the foundation of a Level Six creature, Simba’s capabilities were only at Level Five, far lesser than Green.
"Are all wizards like you, enjoying pondering intensely? Isn’t it enough knowing catching it offers benefits?"
After a brief rest, Simba’s breath gradually steadied, as he asked Green.
"Tired? No, no, no, it’s the joy of perceiving the interconnections between phenomena, guiding directly to the secrets of truth — the source from which wizards seek to gain greater strength. How could it be tiring?"
Green, documenting the shifting realities and phantom rules in the healing fracture with his Crystal Ball, observed everything from the perspective of the illusory. He spoke deeply, "If a wizard feels tired while seeking knowledge, he will gradually be eliminated and extinct under the rules of evolution, unable to become a wizard. Therefore, you say all wizards are like this, it’s theoretically correct."
Simba shook his majestic mane, his physical strength having mostly recovered.
"In the Alliance of Thousand Beasts, the strongest Beast King is often the one who thinks the least, the most fearless, and who unleashes his hunting instincts best. Overthinking would only cause timidity."
Simba unexpectedly imparted a lesson that left Green astounded; instinctively, Green thought of the most fitting existence to Simba’s depiction — the Purgatory Giant King Abaddon.
...
Two years later.
With Simba leading the way, aided by his powerful adaptability and instinctual danger sensitivity in this world, distinguishing hidden temporal faults.
Compared to Green’s slow traversal, identifying resonance through toe friction against the debris, he proceeded immeasurably faster.
The debris beneath shifted continuously in shape, and during this time, they had brief encounters with a few strong-willed creatures. Indeed, as Simba mentioned, without sufficient level, neither voluntary nor sealed entrants possessed the qualification to reach this illusory world.
The two traveling companions significantly deterred these lurking powers, preventing any from provoking confrontation.
In hand, a pearly gemstone appeared, also infused with Chrono Effects, yet in Green’s Three-Colored Light Eyes filled with joy, it no longer felt the same as before.
Having seen too much, passion waned.
Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz...
"Hmm!?"
The acute insight brought by the Face of Truth allowed Green to first sense the infrasonic wave vibrations. This wasn’t the infrasonic wave vibration induced by a temporal storm. After halting abruptly, Green wore a grave expression.
"What is it?"
Simba turned toward Green.
"I think we’re in trouble."
Traversing this Deep Illusionary World felt to Green like a little mouse venturing through the Dark Forest, pervaded by crisis, where inconceivable disasters might arise, even bizarre and absurd occurrences per the rules beyond reality.
Directing his gaze as Simba followed Green’s eyes, Simba vaguely perceived a black line rushing in like a tidal wave far on the horizon, eliciting an involuntary low growl.
"What are you standing still for, run already!"
Both Simba and Green recognized that the surging wave-like black line was formed by an endless and terrifying swarm of ants. That overwhelming magnitude that shadows the sky left Green no doubt; even exposing his true form against it would lead to instant engulfment and devastation.
Clearly, those sealed and banished into this illusory world are evidently not solely the mighty World Masters!
Exceedingly evolved mutated monsters, posing potential threats to balance in some worlds, may at any moment be sealed into such an illusory world to disappear within the Balance Rules of the Endless World.
This is simply a dimensional landfill!
Whoosh, whoosh!
Behind them was the endless swarm of ants pursuing, engulfing everything.
With the Face of Truth, Green discerned that the ants constituting this frightening ant swarm were a kind of black-red winged ants palm-sized, forming a disaster that devours and floods everything in their path. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
However, Green and Simba were not alone in fleeing from this infinite sea of insects; several powerful entities also fled behind them.
A fortnight passed.
Amid the prolonged escape, those chased by this terrifying ant swarm increased, totaling several figures, among them two Level Six entities!
These wildly varying form masters of worlds are chased by the nearly all-consuming ant extremist swarming behind.
