Chapter 206: Chapter 206: Calling You a Good Girl, But Hoping You’ll Be Naughty

Zoe Pierce felt her pulse skyrocket at his murmur of "good girl."

His voice, somewhere between that of a mature man and a young one, was laced with an urgent desire.

Miles Sherman was savoring her boldness.

Her chest was pressed against his as her kneeling legs gave way, and she sank down onto his lap.

A large hand wrapped tightly around her spine. Her neatly tied hair had come loose and was threatening to fall completely undone.

His slender fingers slid forward and pulled the tie from her hair. Inky black locks cascaded down, blanketing Zoe Pierce’s delicate back. He wove his fingers through her hair, cupping the back of her head.

They were like two snakes, necks entwined, bodies coiled together and inseparable as they slowly rubbed against one another.

Suddenly, Erin Xavier’s voice crackled over the mecha’s comms channel. "What are you two doing in there?"

"Miles. Zoe Pierce."

Hearing her name, Zoe jolted upright in alarm, but Miles Sherman held her firmly in place. "He’s doing it on purpose," he whispered to her.

Erin might not have guessed exactly what they were doing in the cockpit, but he knew they weren’t just sitting idle. He was deliberately interrupting them.

Seeing that Zoe was trying to sit up properly, Miles slid his hand from her hair but didn’t let her go. "Tell him we’re watching the snow."

His finger pressed the communications button. For security, he’d bypassed the voice-activation setting and manually switched to the most primitive, old-fashioned method: a backup button located overhead, where it couldn’t be accidentally triggered.

Seeing the comms light blink on, Zoe forced herself to remain calm, her tone even. "We’re watching the snow."

She watched as Miles instantly cut the connection, then bit the corner of her lip, grinding against it.

Erin’s voice, tinged with static, came back over the comms. "What’s so great about the snow? It’s just a sea of white. Careful you don’t get snow blindness."

Just as he finished speaking, Miles released the corner of her lip and pulled back.

He hit the button again and replied to Erin, "I’ll be careful. I’ll make sure she doesn’t stare at it."

He cut the comms.

This time, his kisses fell on her long, pale neck.

Zoe had never imagined Miles could be this wild, performing such intimate acts on her while simultaneously carrying on a conversation with someone else.

’What’s the difference between this and those people who take calls while they’re in bed with someone?’

’The only difference is we haven’t gone all the way yet.’

’But we’re doing this under the watchful eyes of all the Interstellans. In some ways, that’s even more outrageous.’

"How come you’re not worried about me?" Nathan Lockwood’s voice, a rare occurrence on the channel, chimed in.

Zoe suddenly felt that the cockpit was getting too hot. She could even feel a flush of heat through her climate-controlled training suit.

His lips brushed against the concealed zipper. The Alpha caught the tab with his teeth and tugged it slowly, steadily downward.

Zoe’s back was pressed flush against the mecha’s control console. Miles had already activated standby mode; no commands would register unless a specific sequence was pressed.

The Alpha leaned in, his body folding over her as he drew the zipper down to her waist.

Skin as white as milk was exposed to the air.

Her specialized sports bra was the last barrier, but ultimately, it didn’t serve its purpose for long.

"So, Nathan, what are you up to?" To Erin, showing concern for Nathan or Chase Shaw was all the same.

"Listening to you talk," he said.

Erin rolled his eyes. "..."

A pink flush bloomed across her snow-white skin, spreading from her cheeks to her neck and even further down.

All in silence.

Zoe’s fingers clenched tightly on Miles’s sleeve.

Chase Shaw chose that moment to key his mic. "Erin, you’re being really loud."

Erin was left completely speechless. ’So, what, they’re all saints?’

’They just want to quietly admire the snow that’s about to bury them all?’ 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

’So boring.’

’He just wanted to tease those two.’

’But the two of them were putting on a good act. Their tones were perfectly normal.’

’Then again, if everything was so normal, why had they been so quiet for so long?’

Inside the cramped cockpit.

The sporadic chatter between Nathan and Erin on the comms drifted in and out of Zoe’s hearing.

Miles was the ocean.

And she was but a small boat, unable to resist its surging waves.

The kisses were punctuated by his low murmur of "good girl."

The endearment made her flush red from head to toe.

They were in a mecha, after all. Miles had to admit he wasn’t quite that daring, and he didn’t want to leave Zoe with a bad memory of this place.

He put everything back in its proper place.

But all Zoe had to do was look down to see the red, plum-blossom-like marks dotting her pale skin.

Every visible inch of her had been claimed.

Zoe settled back into Miles’s arms.

The Alpha opened the comms channel. "Let’s rest for a bit. According to the mech’s sensors, this snowstorm will last at least two more hours."

"None of us have gotten more than six hours of sleep these past few days."

We’ve been pushing it to make good time.

It was obvious, however, who he was really saying this for.

He shifted his position, letting Zoe lie more comfortably against him. Miles leaned back in the pilot’s seat, his arm still wrapped securely around her waist.

His physical reaction was impossible to hide, not that Miles had any intention of doing so.

They could both feel it.

Now, they both needed to cool down.

*

Zoe was surprised she’d actually managed to fall asleep.

When she woke up, she realized Miles hadn’t moved an inch. A glance at the time showed that two hours had passed.

The moment she stirred, Miles woke up as well.

His arm, which had been pinned beneath her, was long past sore and numb; he could barely lift it now.

Zoe immediately noticed his awkward movement.

Her brow furrowed, and she began to gently massage his arm. "Why didn’t you move?"

Miles’s usually stern, hard features were soft now. "I wanted you to get some more sleep."

"The snow has lightened up," he said. He had only been resting his eyes for the past two hours, not truly sleeping like Zoe. He had even been keeping an eye on the conditions outside.

Someone had to stay alert. When he’d told everyone to rest, he had intended to take on that duty himself.

The soreness and numbness in his arm gradually faded under her massage, and feeling returned to it.

His gaze was intense, prompting Zoe to ask, "Why are you still looking at me like that?"

A smile touched Miles’s eyes. "I was just thinking, so this is what it feels like to have a girlfriend."

No wonder everyone is so desperate to have one.

His arms were still wrapped around her, and for once, Miles felt that staying cooped up in a mecha wasn’t so bad after all.

"It feels like... I can finally, officially protect you now."

He caressed her waist. "Zoe, you’re always so good it makes my heart ache."

"I call you ’good girl,’ but I hope you won’t always be so good."

"Am I weird?"

Zoe leaned against him. "Not at all."

Coming from Miles, the endearment made her feel cherished.

She wasn’t a conventionally well-behaved Omega to begin with.

The tender yet contradictory endearment, paired with his tone and explanation, made Zoe realize she didn’t just not mind it—she actually liked it.
