Chapter 2669: Chapter 2670: The Four Sibao Dream Demons

"What’s your name? Why are you here?" Bai Ruozhu asked.

The little demon creature was being held so tightly that it couldn’t breathe, its face flushed as it said, "Loosen up a little, how can I speak like this?"

"Just be honest, and you won’t have to suffer," Bai Ruozhu said, easing her grip slightly, though still making it impossible for it to escape.

"My name is Sibao, I’m a Dream Demon. I’ve been here for about half a month. I need to find the Venus Gemstone to enhance my demon powers, I heard there might be one here," the little demon replied, uncertain if it was speaking the truth.

"You’ve got some skills. Haven’t you encountered any danger here?" Bai Ruozhu asked again.

Sibao tugged at her hand, "Can you let go? Is this really good for a child?"

Bai Ruozhu raised an eyebrow, "You’ve lived for decades as a demon creature, so you’re not really a child in my eyes."

Sibao suddenly wrinkled its nose and started crying loudly, "You’re bullying demons! How could you bully a child!"

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth twitched. Just now it sounded like an elderly person, calm and steady, but now it cried like a little rascal. Does it have to change so quickly?

"Enough nonsense, follow me out!" Bai Ruozhu suddenly raised her hand and tapped Sibao’s forehead, pulling it out of the dreamland.

Jiang Yichun saw Bai Ruozhu wake up and quickly took her hand, asking, "What happened just now? You suddenly fell asleep."

Bai Ruozhu grabbed Sibao and held it up for Jiang Yichun to see, "It’s this little demon creature causing trouble, wants me to help find a Venus Gemstone."

Jiang Yichun took Sibao but, like Bai Ruozhu, gripped Sibao’s neck tightly.

"Ah, it’s a Dream Demon! So small yet able to instantly make you fall asleep, quite special," Jiang Yichun said, staring at Sibao.

Sibao puffed up proudly, "I could put people into dreams since birth, I’m the most talented Dream Demon. Also, I really am a child."

Bai Ruozhu played with the little horns on its head, "So, are you a boy or a girl?"

Sibao looked disdainful, "See, you don’t understand. We Dream Demons are born without gender; we choose when we grow up. Most choose based on the demon creature they like."

This was something that rouge and Gong Feng hadn’t mentioned, probably because there was no time to talk about it amidst the urgency.

"Of course, some choose to be male as adults for stronger powers to become the most powerful Dream Demon. I’m going to be a man," Sibao said resolutely, clenching its fist.

Bai Ruozhu flicked its head, "What man? It should be male demon."

Sibao wrinkled its nose and rubbed its head, "Male demon then, as long as it’s male."

"Who told you there were Venus Gemstones here?" Jiang Yichun frowned and asked.

Sibao seemed a little afraid of him, shrinking behind Bai Ruozhu, saying, "I was born recently, very talented but with a defect, fainting every few days. A powerful demon said it’s because my demon powers are too strong while my body is too weak, suggested I find Venus Gemstones in Donghai to absorb the energy, or I won’t live past three years."

"How long have you been born?" Bai Ruozhu asked.

Sibao scratched its head, "About a month or two, I think. My home is on an island to the east. I was originally searching underwater, but fell into a whirlpool and ended up here."

"And you couldn’t find a way out?" Jiang Yichun asked.

"I feel there should be Venus Gemstones here, everything is gold. I didn’t want to leave quickly, so I was searching everywhere, but found nothing," Sibao said, frustrated.

"Did you discover anything?" Bai Ruozhu asked.

Sibao glanced cautiously at Jiang Yichun, "You two came from outside together?"

"He’s my husband, what’s up?" Bai Ruozhu replied.

Sibao pouted, "His aura is similar to here. Isn’t he one of those pretending to be something else?"

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun exchanged a glance; Sibao was talking about the Merfolk aura.

"Don’t worry, I’m sure he is my husband, not something pretending," Bai Ruozhu said, seeing Sibao’s unhappy face, and couldn’t help but pinch it.

Sibao sighed in relief, "This place is really strange, I’ve been here almost half a month without seeing anyone, the main hall is clearly ahead but I can’t get close, let alone enter."

"Let’s go check," Jiang Yichun stood up, vaguely feeling like something in the main hall was calling him, confident of reaching it soon.

"Maybe you can actually get there; I’ll follow you. If there’s a Venus Gemstone, divide a bit with me, I’m still young, don’t want to just live three years," Sibao pouted, "If I can only live three years, I’d be called Sanbao, if I live four years then Sibao. I named myself Sibao to survive."

"Why not aim to live a long life and call yourself Bao Bao?" Bai Ruozhu asked.

Sibao choked, "Yeah, why not call Bao Bao?"

It scratched its head vigorously, "I was too young to know much, only counted to four. If not, I’ll rename myself Bao Bao now, no, I want to live a thousand years, I’ll be Qian Bao instead."

Sibao rambled on behind them, and Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun couldn’t help but laugh helplessly. This child was a chatterbox.

On the way there were no incidents, and they got closer to the palace with a demon. They soon reached the palace entrance.

Sibao was very excited, saying, "I never got this close, following you was right. By the way, are you sure this uncle isn’t from around here?"

Jiang Yichun’s face turned black; earlier it called his wife sister, now calling him uncle—did he look old?

"No!" he replied, not in a good mood.

Right after speaking, he suddenly bumped into something, bounced back, and Bai Ruozhu caught him, allowing him to steady himself.

Rubbing his head where he hit it, Jiang Yichun said, "There’s a barrier."

Bai Ruozhu reached forward, indeed touching an invisible barrier; she exerted force but was repelled with even greater strength.

"This barrier is strong, hard to enter," she said.

Sibao was excited, "Let me try!"

Before Bai Ruozhu could warn, its little hand reached forward, and fine currents entered through its hand, crackling over it. It screamed in pain, tumbling away.

Bai Ruozhu ran to help, her hand going numb from a jolt, and Sibao’s horn braids curled up from the shock.

"Wuwuwu, is this biased against demons? Why did I get such a strong reaction?" Sibao cried, aggrieved. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Jiang Yichun and Bai Ruozhu exchanged a look; it maybe had nothing to do with being human or demon.
