Abandoned Woman Busy Farming
Chapter 2672 - 2673: Back on the Boat
Wasn’t its dragon blood supposed to cure all poisons? And with a body that huge, how could that tiny bit of poison from Bai Ruozhu torment it this badly?
"It should be the restriction here that’s torturing it, draining its strength." Jiang Yichun’s expression was grim. He was afraid the white dragon wouldn’t last until he found the Dragon Ball, and he feared that even if the white dragon died, the Curse wouldn’t disappear, leaving them with no solution at all.
"Why did you come back? Get out of here, I might lose control!" the white dragon roared in pain.
Bai Ruozhu’s heart stirred. This white dragon looked fierce and terribly arrogant, but at least, deep down, it cared about others, or it wouldn’t be worried about losing control and hurting them.
"We don’t know how to get out of here," Jiang Yichun said.
"I’ll send you out, now go." The white dragon flicked its tail, and the two humans and one Demon were swept up by a gust of wind. Before Bai Ruozhu could even see clearly what happened, she was already in the sea.
Jiang Yichun wrapped his legs in Water Vapor without turning into a fishtail. He grabbed Bai Ruozhu and quickly rose to the surface.
"It’s Master and the others!" Teng Liu was just leading people into the water. Seeing Bai Ruozhu and the others come up, he shouted excitedly.
On the Boat, Gao Zhou jumped straight down, used his inner strength to lift the two of them, and carried them back onto the deck.
Their clothes were soaking wet. Teng Ya’s mother hurriedly brought blankets and draped them over the two, and only then did everyone notice the Little Demon Sibao in Bai Ruozhu’s arms.
"Where did you go? And who is this child?" Gao Zhou asked anxiously.
Worried that his legs would turn into a fishtail, Jiang Yichun quickly said, "Let us change clothes first, then we’ll explain everything properly."
Sibao was already awake, staring alertly at everything around with big round eyes.
Bai Ruozhu handed it to Teng Ya’s mother, asking her to take care of Sibao and get it into some dry clothes.
As soon as the two entered the Room, Bai Ruozhu hurried to dry Jiang Yichun’s legs, but Jiang Yichun suddenly pulled her tightly into his arms.
"You actually jumped into the Undersea Vortex for me. That was way too reckless!" Jiang Yichun sounded angry, but more than that, he was guilty and heartbroken. He had been careless and walked right into the ambush.
Bai Ruozhu, however, laughed. "This is what they call a blessing in disguise. Otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten such an important clue. All right, hurry and tidy up, everyone’s waiting. Look, your dad is worried sick."
Jiang Yichun let her go and quickly changed into dry clothes. Now that he could control the Water Vapor to shield himself, he wouldn’t turn into a fishtail so easily just by getting wet, but he still had to watch the time and couldn’t stay in the water too long.
Once they were ready and went to the Assembly Hall for the meeting, they found everyone staring at them with eager eyes, making the two of them feel a bit embarrassed.
"Duannian and I were repairing the ship and didn’t want to be ambushed. I chased after the attacker, but soon realized the Shuriken that injured me was poisoned. I lost consciousness and fell into a Whirlpool at the bottom of the sea, and ended up in a very special place." Jiang Yichun began.
"I couldn’t find him and was really anxious. Then Furball said it could feel his presence beneath the Whirlpool, so I thought I’d try. I didn’t expect to actually find him there, and that place used to be where the Merfolk lived," Bai Ruozhu continued.
"Merfolk!" Gao Zhou cried out excitedly.
Duannian’s eyes went wide as well, but he quickly shook his head. "Impossible. I may not be able to find Merfolk Island anymore, but Merfolk Island definitely isn’t near here."
"That wasn’t the Merfolk Island you lived on. It should be the Palace where the Merfolk lived before Merfolk Island, called the Gold Palace." Mentioning the Palace’s name, Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but purse her lips. "The Merfolk seem to really like golden things, but a lot of the materials used inside are extremely valuable. They’re golden, but not actually Gold, and far more expensive than Gold."
"Later Achun used his blood to pass through the restriction, and we entered the Main Hall, where we ran into a white dragon trapped inside."
Bai Ruozhu relayed to everyone what the white dragon had said. The dragon hadn’t spoken much, mostly angry complaints, but the general meaning was clear enough.
Gao Zhou listened, dumbfounded. "So you’re saying that many years ago—maybe several hundred or even a thousand years ago—the Merfolk could only live in the sea, and they were like Duannian, fishtail with human torso, with no legs to walk on land?"
"I don’t think the white dragon lied to us. It should be like that," Bai Ruozhu said.
"Later, somehow, the Merfolk tricked the white dragon out of its Dragon Ball and finally grew legs so they could live on land. But then greed took over, they kept the Dragon Ball for themselves, and even set up restrictions to trap the white dragon in the Palace. Judging from the Palace alone, the Merfolk really went all out," Bai Ruozhu said.
"You’re wrong on that point. Once they had legs and could live on land, they didn’t want to stay in the cold sea anymore, so that Palace no longer mattered to them," Jiang Yichun said coldly.
Duannian couldn’t accept this information. In agony, he asked, "If they were born with fishtails, then why was there a prophecy saying I would bring disaster to the clan? Why did they exile me?"
"Duannian..." Wa Wei’s heart ached as she grabbed his hand. "You still have me, and everyone here. We’re all your family."
Duannian’s reddened eyes slowly closed, and he finally calmed down. "You’re right. I don’t need to care about those Merfolk. Having you all is enough."
Everyone patted his shoulder in encouragement, but this matter left many of them deeply shaken.
In other words, the Merfolk didn’t know gratitude and schemed against the white dragon who first helped them, and ended up being cursed by the white dragon. Although no Merfolk lived past thirty and their fate was miserable, on second thought, this was a debt they owed the white dragon.
"We have to find Merfolk Island as soon as possible. No matter what the Merfolk think now, we must get the Dragon Ball. I’m really afraid the white dragon can’t hold on much longer," Bai Ruozhu said worriedly.
Gao Zhou nodded. "With the white dragon pointing the way, we should be able to find Merfolk Island very soon. Once we find a place to properly repair the ship, we sail south immediately."
Everyone voiced their agreement. After all that chaos, plus needing to check everyone on the Boat, they all dispersed.
Teng Ya waited with Sibao outside Bai Ruozhu’s Room. Sibao happily scooted over when it saw Bai Ruozhu.
"You didn’t ask that dragon if it had a Venus Gemstone? I mean, I can’t use it now, but maybe I’ll be able to someday." Sibao said with a look of regret.
Jiang Yichun shot it a glare. "An ordinary man is innocent, but having a treasure makes him guilty. That thing is extremely precious. Even if you got it, it would only bring you disaster."
Sibao seemed really afraid of Jiang Yichun and tried desperately to hide behind Bai Ruozhu. "I was just asking. I don’t want it, okay?"
"Right, everyone’s busy today. Tomorrow we’ll have the Astrologer take a look at you," Bai Ruozhu said.
"Okay, thank you," Sibao said with a sweet smile. Just looking at the face, it really did resemble a little girl. Bai Ruozhu suddenly felt a bit dazed as a certain figure surfaced in her mind...
