Absolute Beast Dominion
Chapter 531: Massacre
Chapter 531: Massacre
"F-father, you cannot—" a Peak 3-star Wyvern started to speak, but Hidimba cast him a cold glance.
"Survive if you have the capability. Don’t you have that hot blood that makes you pursue my woman? Show me if that hot blood is worth anything."
Saying that, Hidimba walked over near the lava column and sat down.
Zerathra had already opened the secret place’s door as many Wyverns started running.
But waiting at the door were Pyrotrax and Ignivorax, sitting in ambush, while Vulcarion remained in the secret place to kill any Wyvern that entered his sight.
Hunting by the adolescent dragons was easy. Not only were they stronger than every Wyvern present, they also possessed superior bloodlines.
Just a glance from them was enough to freeze most Wyverns stiff.
Some stronger Wyverns formed groups and forcefully resisted the bloodline suppression, breaking through Pyro and Igni’s ambush and escaping into the open areas of the Secret Realm.
Afterward, Vulcarion ordered Ignivorax to hunt down all the Wyverns that escaped into the Secret Realm. It was easy for dragons to sense other draconic species, so eventually every single Wyvern would be hunted down unless they managed to flee outside. But outside, the City Lord was eagerly waiting to capture a Flame Wyvern.
Meanwhile, Leo was frantically looking for a good bloodline Wyvern.
His target was a specific type of Wyvern—young, weak, and possessing a Super Bloodline. After all, Super Bloodline seemed to be their limit, as even their father, Hidimba himself, was a Super Bloodline Beast.
Many possessed Mortal Bloodlines, while many had Super Bloodlines. Leo immediately disregarded the former and locked onto a younger-looking Super Bloodline Wyvern.
The reason he was looking for a younger one was that—
Flame Wyvern (Peak 2-star) — Super Bloodline [Intelligence: Juvenile]
Juvenile intelligence.
That was the minimum level of intelligence where a beast could be tamed.
Though Zerathra had already told him the methods of taming intelligent beasts, he was still very apprehensive about the fact that such beasts were capable of breaking the contract of their own accord.
Intelligent beings were never to be trusted; they always acted in their own interests.
The best example was humans.
Who knew if a Wyvern would allow itself to be tamed just to escape this dragon’s massacre, only to break the contract after Leo brought it out of the Secret Realm?
There was also the fact that Leo didn’t know what sort of absolute necessity these Wyverns required before they would willingly submit.
"Right now, it’s survival... but if I form a contract on that basis, they’ll simply break it the moment I bring them out of the Secret Realm, and I’ll suffer the backlash," Leo muttered before delivering a charged punch straight through a Peak 2-star Wyvern, killing it.
Ten minutes of thorough beating, and the beast still refused to submit. It even rejected taming with its last breath.
"Damn human, even if it means dying, I won’t be disgraced by being tamed by you."
That was what it said before its brain matter became nothing more than squashed mush.
By now, Leo had already killed around 10 Wyverns like that, ranging from Low 2-star to Peak 3-star. Yet not a single one yielded willingly, even when their brothers and sisters were being sucked dry by the dragons right before their eyes.
"Hmph! Dying by my scum of a father’s ruthlessness and a noble dragon is far more honorable than being tame—"
The Wyvern didn’t even get to finish before Leo blasted its head apart with the full force of his Pseudo 5-star strength.
Yes, he was getting annoyed.
Those who refused after two attempts were simply smashed apart because he was running low on time. The dragons were continuously killing, and he couldn’t afford to waste time on a single stubborn Wyvern.
20 Wyverns.
30 Wyverns.
50 Wyverns.
"Damn that human!" Vulcarion cursed upon seeing Leo killing and storing away the Wyvern corpses so quickly.
By now, about 4 hours had passed, and the 3 adolescent dragons had collectively absorbed only around 30 Wyvern blood essences.
Even Zerathra clicked her tongue in annoyance. Those corpses were supposed to fatten up her nephews, but she hadn’t expected Leo to be so efficient.
"You really got yourself a good student, human. Never thought a small human kid would have so much stamina to keep hunting more than 25 Wyverns in a row," she remarked while running her hand over a couple of Wyvern eggs, feeling their smooth shells.
"Well, historically, humans have the best stamina," Gunther said while curiously examining the eggs.
These eggs were meant to be souvenirs for the City Lord as part of the agreement Zerathra had made to enter the secret realm.
"Do we live in the same world? Since when did humans start having the best stamina?" Zerathra joked with a snort.
"Well, we are indeed from different worlds... and the human stamina fact was specifically true before mana and creatures like you invaded our world," Gunther replied nonchalantly while keeping one eye on Leo and the other on Zerathra and Hidimba.
"Meh, who cares about those pathetic old worlds?" Zerathra waved dismissively before eyeing Gunther.
"You seem awfully calm for standing in front of a greater and stronger being."
Gunther didn’t even look at Zerathra. He simply waved his hand as green mist gathered above it. He examined his palm, gauging how limited his powers were and whether there were loopholes he could exploit in this secret realm to exercise them.
"Greater being? Are you talking about your so-called pathetic old world?" Gunther shot back, using her own words.
"Let’s talk about the new world, where your standing is defined by how hard you work and how much talent and luck you possess. As for being stronger than me... I suppose you have yet to fight a proper beast master."
Gunther cast Zerathra a glance that clearly conveyed he possessed a beast stronger than her.
Zerathra nodded in understanding.
"So you’re a beast master who took an interest in the soul department. Seeing how good you are in soul-related fields, you’d have been miles ahead if you possessed a proper soul-related talent. But then again, more than 2 centuries ago, I doubt humans had even discovered what the soul was."
"Kuku, you’d have died like a dog somewhere without anyone realising your true worth."
Gunther was amused by her words.
"That’s true, my lady, but Beast Taming is also a soul-related talent that possesses the power to bind beasts like you. Don’t forget that."
Gunther never missed an opportunity to settle things equally. For comparing him to a dog, he called Zerathra a beast. The only difference was that one was metaphorical, while the other was true in a sense.
And that seemed to affect Zerathra.
She went quiet and silently examined the eggs after that.
