Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion
Chapter 329 - 328: A Gift
"And if I am?" Void said.
"Good, good, good…" Ariya said the word good three times as her eyes burned with rage. Not only because they wanted to use this realm as a base, but also because billions upon billions of lives had been lost because of this being.
Ariya felt memories of the past surface. Her world had been in the middle of a war, but when she woke up, everything was gone, taken from her.
"Even though you are above them, does that mean you can just kill beings? They are still living, breathing creatures. In no way have they offended you. Just earlier, you even came to the auction and sat beside them. So you killed the kid with you too? How cold-hearted are you, you—" Ariya gritted her teeth, anger swirling inside her. But Void was still a being potentially above Rank 3. She needed to contain it.
Beside her, Chu Su's eyes were cold and locked onto Void.
Although no killing intent was released, one would still feel a chill run down their spine.
Her hands wrapped tightly around her sword handle.
"Say, are you all clueless? Did you reach Rank 3 under a being? Did you go out and explore?" Void said calmly, observing the two girls, his so-called potential enemies. "These beings, over my life, are just not worth it. How many die every second? What's the use of adding another million, another billion? It won't even tickle all of existence."
"What do you mean all of existence? You just erased a world! Billions, quintillions of lives or more and you're saying existence won't feel it?" Ariya shouted, her voice strained.
"Really, shouting isn't helping," Void said lazily as he used his pinky to rub his ear.
"But that's the difference between you and me. I see from the view of existence. You see from below.
"You might call it the gap of life between us, and that's exactly what it is. Some people are good, some are evil, some are creation, while some are… destruction."
"I belong to the latter," Void said, and immediately the girls felt cold.
Their blood force stagnated, their nerves felt severed, as a terrifying aura covered them both.
Void would never say no to this, free kills? Maybe if they were inside the auction house, he would find it difficult, but they were outside. Void wouldn't make the same mistake twice.
But was it a mistake?
Well, I'll leave that to you guys to answer.
"You see, maybe because I attended your auction house, or even dwelled in this wretched place among these ants, it gave you the wrong idea."
"WHO ARE YOU TO EVEN QUESTION ME?" VOID'S VOICE BLOOMED AS THE FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD LAYERS OF SPACE SHATTERED.
"A mere high-level Rank 3 being dares question me?" Void laughed as his aura spread outward.
Choking space itself, the fourth layer of space shattered.
Now, in the fifth layer, both Chu Su and Ariya felt frozen.
It seemed they had bitten off more than they could chew.
Standing before them was a Quasi Rank 4 being.
"Ariya, enough. We can't challenge him," Chu Su gritted her teeth as she took a deep breath. She placed a hand on Ariya's shoulder as a cold, calming, soothing energy flowed into her.
Void was right. There were levels to this, bars so high they couldn't cross. The gap of life was there, present and ever looming.
Maybe a Peak Rank 3 being could try battling Void, but even then it would die, let alone a high-level Rank 3. Perhaps just a wave of Void's hand would make them disappear.
"But…" Ariya looked back at Chu Su as Chu Su shook her head. Then she looked at the fifth layer of space. Just by releasing his aura, Void had shattered the first through fourth layers. How strong was he?
Above Rank 3? Quasi Rank 4 was really that strong.
"I'm sorry. We apologize for challenging you," Ariya bowed her head as she looked down.
Chu Su also bowed.
In existence, you bow to higher power, that's the rule.
Or else, you lose everything.
Void grinned as he spoke.
"What if I say I don't accept?" Void asked.
Ariya and Chu Su paused, thoughts swirling in their minds.
But it seemed reasonable. Void was a Quasi Rank 4 being. What they had done was disrespectful. Any being would be offended.
"Then… we will compensate you with the blood you gave us," Ariya said as she gritted her teeth. That drop of blood, she truly wanted to know what race owned it. More than that, she was curious: what kind of being was Void? He was so dismissive, as if those lives meant nothing, as if there was no reason needed to kill them.
"Also, we will give you everything we have in the auction house. We apologize once again," Ariya bowed even deeper.
They had hit a hard wall. They had no choice but to bow.
Hearing this, Void laughed, and Ariya clenched her fists.
Of course, Void could easily see through their viels hiding their face. They were beautiful indeed, and with the way Void was laughing, it seemed it wasn't enough. They wanted more.
Did Void want their bodies? If so, she would have to refuse but their master wasn't here. Who would protect them?
Ariya's anger slowly turned into fear.
She didn't know that the auction house itself could protect her.
For the first time in a long while, they had met someone this strong.
Even in their original world, they had been the strongest, so reality had never hit them, until now.
Ariya's mind felt like it had cracked open.
Void was dangerous.
Why did their master leave them like this?
Of course, these young ones didn't know the limit of
the first layer of space was seeing Rank 3 beings. Even those were rare, and high-level Rank 3 beings were practically invincible in the first layer of space.
Who would have thought they would meet Void?
Maybe they were lucky… or unlucky.
"That… I will have to decline. I don't want this. But let's say, before I leave, I have a gift for you," Void's voice bloomed.
Ariya looked back at Chu Su, and Chu Su let out a sigh of relief.
Void didn't want anything from them?
Are strong people really this weird?
Then again… what kind of "gift" did Void want to give them?
"What if… I told you two that I am the one you are looking for?"
