Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion
Chapter 511 - 510: Lies to Truth
"Hehehe..." Void laughed slightly as Din clenched his fists.
What was so funny that Void had to laugh?
"You could have said so earlier," Void teased as Din felt like finding something and smashing his head in.
"What the hell..." Din spoke.
"Alright, alright, relax, kid," Void said.
"The thing is, basically, your luck isn’t so good. The only reason you are still alive is because the gods took a fancy to you and changed your fate.
You were supposed to stay dead in your world. Anyways, that is gone now. The issue now is , you lack personal strength..." Void paused.
"Everything you have is artificial. Your strength, position, everything was given to you by the gods. You became a martial warrior so you could contain more of their strength. They need you for their plans."
"What plans?" Din asked.
"It isn’t hard to guess. The gods want to come back to this world, but the entrance has been tightly sealed by the immortals."
"Immortals?"
"Yeah, fucking catch up, dude."..,void spoke
"Really?".., Din questioned
Void chuckled when he heard this.
"Alright, chill. Let me tell you the history of this world," Void began as he stretched his body inside Din’s consciousness.
Having come back from checking the Azar World of Magi, Void had lost interest. To him, the only interesting thing was how Linkir’s clone had fallen in love with his clone.
That was something worth looking into.
For entertainment, of course... cough, cough.
Anyways, things were more interesting over here, and actually leading a young cub like Din, changing his fate and future path, was so exciting that Void felt he might really become addicted to it.
"I should properly roleplay as a grandfather to those chosen ones," Void thought with a chuckle as he looked at the waiting Din.
"So, this history spans thousands of years. Back then, this world was flourishing, filled with rare and life-saving herbs, flowers that could make one ascend in a single step," Void began narrating bullshit with complete seriousness.
"This world was filled with mythical beasts. Dragons, phoenixes, and the like roamed the land.
Everything seemed peaceful as people studied the path of martial warriors. They ascended and became immortals. Together, the twelve strongest immortals created the Immortal Realm, where the other ascended immortals would grow to love as their home."
"Wait, what? Immortals? Dragons?" Din’s eyes widened.
"Yes, kid. The olden days were flourishing, filled with rare treasures and terrifying weapons," Void nodded, testing the believable parts of his story.
"So what happened?" Din asked.
Void paused.
"I’m about to get there, damn it. Wait."
Void spoke as Din coughed.
"Sorry, continue, Elder," Din said.
"Then the birth of the gods came. These beings fed on faith. People had grown tired. The path to ascension wasn’t easy, with most getting stuck, unable to improve and not strong enough to search for resources.
Like all common problems, it ended with the strongest taking all the resources, and immortal families were born.
With the birth of the first god, people discovered another path. One where, just by believing in someone, one could grow stronger. No need for talent and such."
"And of course, like a free meal, the people ate it up. More and more believers appeared, and it became worse when another god appeared, then another."
"These gods were weak at first. The immortals didn’t understand them. They didn’t know how much of a threat they were. After all, immortal spots were limited, as each and every one of them held power connected to the world.
When they moved, they attacked, and the world moved with them."
"Ah... what insane power," Din commented.
"It was," Void replied.
"But did the two clash? And if so, why?" Din asked.
"That is a very good question. And yes.
The two clashed. And why?" Void began.
"The gods were a race that grew through belief. They harvested faith and used it to strengthen not only themselves but also their followers. They gained a lot and split the world, also known as the Mortal Realm, among themselves."
"All this was something the immortals didn’t like. But the war truly began when the gods were accepted by the world, meaning they gained access to the power of the world and merged with it."
"Like you could imagine, this was something the immortals were against, and so the War of Twilight between the God Race and the Immortal Race began. Only, what happens when one fights a race that can’t die as long as their faith is alive?"
"An unending war," Din answered.
"Correct."..,Void said with a smile
"Yes, the immortals were stronger. After all, they had been alive longer than the gods. But at the same time, the gods were unkillable. So the war never ended. Only the mortals suffered their wrath."
"In the end, they had to do something drastic.
Sacrifice themselves," Void stated.
"Wait, what?" Din asked, stunned.
"The immortals sealed the gods and themselves. Basically, they changed this planet’s laws. Both they and the gods can no longer descend to this world. And with the gods gone, faith began flickering. Generation after generation, the gods became history, then tales, and finally myths."
Void finished as Din felt shaken.
He hadn’t expected the world’s history to be like this.
His breathing became ragged.
"Now do you understand your role?" Void asked.
Din took a deep breath.
"Yes. They will use me to break the seal that will allow the gods to come back to this world," Din said.
Void nodded.
"Yes, yes."
Void chuckled.
Man, his storytelling skills were truly up to par.
Only if Void knew what he was.
As a Rank 4 entity, his words were not just spoken; they carried laws within them.
The story he thought he had fabricated slowly seeped into the world and merged with it, becoming its history.
"So... how?" Din asked, the question that opened the path forward.
"I have a way for you, but it won’t be easy. Worse still, you will become the enemy of not only the gods but also the immortals.
And eventually, the whole world."
"In exchange, you will have your freedom."
Void spoke as Din lowered his head, his mind filled with thoughts.
