Chapter 301: Chapter 301: Aiden Gordon’s Scheme

Everyone around them thought they had misheard.

Aiden Gordon asked in surprise, "What did you say?"

"I said, either open the gate and let us leave now, or have all your people get the hell out here."

"You..."

Aiden Gordon pointed at Nina Jacobs, about to curse her out, but a tall man suddenly stepped in front of her.

The man’s aura made Aiden Gordon’s breath catch in his throat.

’This guy is not to be trifled with!’

Nina Jacobs’s lips curled into a smirk. Oceane Sutton wanted to stall them, but she was done waiting.

Because just a moment ago, Wayne Warner had successfully advanced.

"Y-Y-You... you just wait."

Aiden Gordon quickly ran off.

’Who is this man? We didn’t see him at all yesterday!’

When Shirley Lucas and the others saw Wayne Warner, they all gathered around him.

This time, however, he didn’t give Wayne Warner a friendly slap on the back. Instead, he just cautiously poked him with a finger.

Wayne Warner seemed to know Shirley Lucas was testing him, so he retracted his overwhelming aura to avoid hurting him again.

"Tough. A real tough guy."

Shirley Lucas praised him with a thumbs-up.

’With a body like iron walls, he’s probably immune to blades and bullets now, right?’

"Looks like we don’t have to hold back anymore."

At Adrian Shaw’s command, everyone returned to their positions.

When Oceane Sutton came out, heels clicking, this was the scene that greeted her.

The young woman had a slim and slender figure, but standing next to that tall man, she didn’t look meek or demure in the slightest.

Her eyes were calm and profound, and her presence felt more powerful than anyone else’s.

"I hear you were looking for me?"

Oceane Sutton asked.

She noticed that even Trevor and Aurelius Sterling were merely standing at this woman’s side.

’Who on earth is she?’

Nina Jacobs noticed that Aiden Gordon seemed to have disappeared. She looked at Oceane Sutton and said:

"We need to get back on the road today. If you don’t open the gate in half an hour, I will destroy this place."

Oceane Sutton laughed. "You’ve got a big mouth. I thought I made myself clear enough yesterday."

"That’s right. Oceane and I are very interested in your Bishop Clan," Edric Holden chimed in.

"We will not bring any unrelated people back to our clan, and we certainly won’t be staying here."

The moment Trevor finished speaking, they heard a commotion from a short distance away.

Greg Unger and Shawn were the first to rush out. "They’ve taken Eve!"

"Give Eve back!"

Shawn hurled a Fireball at the person in front of him, but it missed.

Although Nina Jacobs couldn’t see who it was, she could already hear Eve’s piercing cries.

Oceane Sutton, Edric Holden, and their group seemed to realize something was happening and immediately backed away.

Right after, Nina Jacobs and her group saw Aiden Gordon run out from behind a building, holding Eve.

"Nobody move! I’ve got this little brat, so don’t even think about it!"

Aiden Gordon held a dagger against Eve’s chest.

He quickly ran to Oceane Sutton’s side, and the two groups were instantly locked in a standoff.

"Eve, don’t cry! We’ll save you!"

Trevor called out to comfort the red-faced, crying Eve, worried she might hurt herself struggling.

Adrian Shaw also glared at Aiden Gordon.

"If you have a problem, come at us! What kind of person bullies a child!"

"A child?"

Aiden Gordon grinned.

"From the first time I saw them, I knew there was something special about this kid."

"Who would bring a child along on a plea for help? Unless there was no choice but to bring her."

Aiden Gordon’s words made Trevor and the others’ faces fall.

’Why would he say that? Does he know something?’

Just then, Elara Thorne ran over, carrying the injured Lana on her back. Behind them was a panicked Maya Warner.

"Aiden Gordon, what’s the meaning of this?!"

Elara Thorne demanded angrily.

Seeing Elara Thorne only made Aiden Gordon more smug. "Elara Thorne, don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been up to.

How many people that the captain wanted dead have you secretly let go?

Did you really think we didn’t touch Maya Warner because of you?"

Aiden Gordon then laid out his entire scheme from the past few weeks.

It turned out that his plan had started forming over twenty days ago when he first met Trevor’s group and heard their objective.

"You were going to seek help from a proper base, and a base would never just stand by and do nothing. They’d give you even more supplies than you asked for."

"And I was just waiting for you on the only road you could take. I was a little worried at first, but who would’ve thought Falken Base would send so few people?"

"We didn’t touch Maya Warner, all for the sake of today."

"All your supplies are on this little brat, aren’t they? She’s a Space Superpower User, and her space must be pretty big, right?"

Seeing that Trevor’s group didn’t deny it, Adrian Shaw and the others also showed expressions of surprise.

’The little girl, Eve, is a Space Superpower User?’

"I’m sorry, Teacher, and everyone else,

we didn’t mean to hide it..."

Trevor was very worried that hiding this fact would make Nina Jacobs and her group angry.

He had originally planned to confess this after they reached the clan’s territory.

"It’s fine. I already knew."

Nina Jacobs said calmly.

She had discovered that they were hiding Eve’s identity as a Space Superpower User back when she was selling supplies under the alias Claire Warner.

However, she didn’t think this kind of secret, one that didn’t harm anyone, was a big deal.

"Eve is so young. It’s understandable that you kept it a secret."

Shirley Lucas said, showing his understanding.

Even he was hiding the fact that he had an infinite space, and besides, Eve couldn’t even protect herself.

"Please, let Eve go! I’m a Space Superpower User too! I have supplies in my space. Let me take Eve’s place, please?"

Blood was still gushing from one of Lana’s arms. She couldn’t forgive herself for being so careless and letting Eve get snatched.

Seeing Eve trying her best not to cry out loud, Lana was heartbroken.

"Take her place? What makes you qualified to negotiate with us?

Ever heard the expression ’catching a turtle in a jar’? With your pathetic little group, you dare to bargain with us?

Since you refuse to cooperate, I’ll have to make the first move."

After Aiden Gordon finished, Edric Holden started clapping.

"Not bad. Oceane and I certainly didn’t misjudge you.

You always manage to surprise us."

Oceane Sutton also breathed a sigh of relief. "If you’d just agreed from the start, we could have avoided all this."

"Yesterday, you were qualified to negotiate with me. Today, you’re not. However, if you beg me now, I might just let you live."

Oceane Sutton had expected them to be terrified, but to her surprise, apart from the few from the Bishop Clan, the others didn’t look the least bit nervous.

Nina Jacobs covered Lana’s arm with Blood Stopping Spray, then stood up.

She glanced at the time and said, "Three minutes left."

"What did you say?"

Oceane Sutton looked at her, confused.

"To open the gate. There are three minutes left," Nina Jacobs replied.

"Are you insane?"

’She’s still expecting me to open the gate at a time like this? Does she not realize they’re trapped like turtles in a jar?’

Aiden Gordon, however, seemed to have figured something out and shouted:

"Our captain is a Dual Element Superpower User! Don’t think you can pull any tricks just because you can build a wall, unless you don’t give a damn if this little brat lives or dies!"

"Time’s up."

Nina Jacobs interrupted Aiden Gordon.
