Chapter 40: The Name That Should Never Be Spoken

In the Blackstone Highlands, Aurora was eating a lavish meal inside the mansion while Elena and other mages were also eating beside her, as everyone had gathered together to eat in the dining hall today.

Maids remained standing at the side with heads bowed, while the clatter of knives and spoons was the only sound that echoed through the room.

But then-

"Huh?" Aurora mid-stopped her eating as she felt a sharp pain in her chest.

"Miss?" one of the maids noticed this and asked her. But instead of replying, Aurora suddenly stood up because she felt the master was very angry.

Elena, who was eating beside her, also felt her aura and stopped eating; then she saw Aurora’s expression was not very good.

"What happened, Aurora?" Elena stood up and placed a hand on her shoulder as she asked.

Aurora snapped out of her thoughts, but she still felt the pain in her chest.

"I don’t know; I just felt that Master was very angry."

Then my eyes met her, on which her face changed to worry as she noticed my severed hand and her eyes become moist, as a tear dropped from her eye.

My heart aches over this, as I have promised myself that I will never let anyone hurt my wife, but I failed again.

And now she is crying.

"Don’t cry, Aurielle; I am here..."

I muttered something in a very low voice as my voice shivered and my eyes also became moist.

Then I uttered a word without even realizing it.

"YOU CROSSED THE LINE."

The silver assassin titled his head as he also observed all of this scene, but he didn’t get scared because of some baseless threat given by a dying hero.

But he still didn’t move, as maybe this will help him to get the answer, so he just keeps watching.
