Mo Weng glanced at her, but instead of answering, he asked, "Have you two heard of the Divine Body Golem?"

The Divine Body Golem.

Confusion showed in Pei Ze’s eyes.

Yin Xue, however, looked contemplative. After a moment, she asked, "Teacher, are you referring to the flesh golem developed by the Golem Department, the one acclaimed as Chenxi City’s most powerful weapon of war?"

"That’s right." Mo Weng nodded slightly. "Flesh golems were originally one of the lowest-tier types of golems. But the Golem Department forged a new path, using the bodies of several dead gods as the main components and fusing them with many rare materials to create the Divine Body Golem."

"The Divine Body Golem possesses an indestructible body, is immune to all Magic below the seventh circle and spell-like abilities of the same level, and can even wield a portion of Divine Power. It truly deserves its title as the most powerful weapon of war."

"It was precisely by relying on this Divine Body Golem that Chenxi City managed to conquer the entire Dilo Plane in less than twenty years when they invaded it."

Pei Ze’s mind reeled as he listened.

’They actually made a golem from the bodies of gods?’

’That’s an insane undertaking!’

’He’d heard before that powerful Wizards could use gods as lab subjects, and he’d always thought it was an embellishment to glorify them. But now, it seemed that wasn’t an exaggeration in the slightest.’

’But what did the Divine Body Golem have to do with Pei Yonggao?’

Yin Xue looked just as confused, but she restrained herself from interrupting Mo Weng.

Mo Weng continued in a calm and unhurried manner, "Although the Divine Body Golem is incomparably powerful, it requires at least a dozen Level 1 Wizards to operate it simultaneously. Because of the extreme burden, it also inflicts irreversible damage on the operators’ Spirits, causing a permanent reduction in their Spiritual Power."

Pei Ze and Yin Xue’s expressions shifted in unison.

They weren’t surprised by the Divine Body Golem’s side effects—it would have been incredible if such a powerful weapon of war *didn’t* come at a price. Rather, they reacted because Mo Weng’s words had subtly hinted at the final resolution of the incident with Huo Nan.

Sure enough, Mo Weng didn’t keep them in suspense. "As per the Dawn Council’s orders, Pei Yonggao departed for a new plane yesterday," he said calmly. "He will join the team operating the Divine Body Golem and will not be back for at least half a year."

After a pause, he turned to Pei Ze.

"Furthermore, as compensation, you may select another 1,000 merit points’ worth of resources. The Pei Family will cover the cost."

Before Pei Ze could speak, Yin Xue frowned and interjected, "Teacher, isn’t this outcome a bit unfair to Pei Ze?"

"Fair?" Mo Weng shook his head slightly. "Only the strong are qualified to speak of fairness."

He turned to Pei Ze and asked, "What do you think?"

Pei Ze nodded calmly. "I accept this outcome."

’He’d never expected to be able to take down Pei Yonggao over this.’

’After all, Pei Yonggao was an Official Wizard, while he was just a Wizard Apprentice.’

’The two of them were on completely different levels.’

’The Dawn Council would never execute an Official Wizard for the sake of a Wizard Apprentice.’

’Sure, anyone with eyes could see that Huo Nan had tried to kill him on Pei Yonggao’s orders.’

’But so what?’

’During the new student trial, everyone knew Pei Shaoqi had died at his hands. But did anyone, including Pei Yonggao, use that to accuse him of a crime?’

’Not a single one!’

’It wasn’t for lack of evidence. It was because he was stronger and more outstanding than Pei Shaoqi!’

’In the world of Wizards, the weak and the worthless have no right to demand fairness.’

’In fact, if his teacher, Mo Weng, hadn’t been backing him, the Dawn Council probably wouldn’t have punished Pei Yonggao at all.’

’If no one had spoken up for him, the whole affair would have most likely just fizzled out.’

’The world was just that pragmatic.’

’Strength reigns supreme. That is the one and only truth of this world.’ 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Pei Ze wasn’t exactly satisfied with this outcome, but he could accept it.

’This was fine. Once he became a Wizard, he would deal with Pei Yonggao himself!’
