Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 61: Also an Alchemist Genius
As they talked, the two found themselves in front of a small cabin.
The cabin was a wooden structure. From the outside, it looked to be no more than fifty or sixty square meters and was quite plain.
However, Pei Ze suspected that the interior most likely incorporated Space Magic. ’A Wizard’s home couldn’t possibly be this small and plain.’
The two stopped in front of the cabin door.
Yin Xue stepped forward and knocked lightly on the door.
With a CREAK, the wooden door swung open on its own.
There was no one behind the door, only profound darkness.
Yin Xue glanced back at Pei Ze, gesturing for him to follow.
One after the other, they stepped inside.
Just as Pei Ze had expected, the inside of the cabin was a world of its own.
Beyond the door lay a spacious courtyard, flanked by two garden plots filled with all sorts of strange and rare plants.
Jade Silver Grass, Dew Flower, Snakebone Grass, Roaring Vine, Red Sound Bamboo... Pei Ze recognized thirty or forty types of exceptionally precious materials, each one worth at least a hundred Magic Stone Coins.
Pei Ze felt a pang of envy.
’It would be nice to have a garden like this of his own someday.’
After passing through the courtyard and a long corridor, an even larger expanse of flat, open land appeared before Pei Ze’s eyes.
The vast clearing was divided into hundreds of square garden plots, each cultivating different species of rare plants.
Tending to these gardens were elves with long, pointed ears and features that were either strikingly handsome or breathtakingly beautiful.
It was Pei Ze’s first time seeing a real elf, and he couldn’t help but take a longer look.
He had to admit, the Elf Race was truly blessed when it came to appearances.
Even the plainest of elves would be considered top-tier in terms of looks among humans.
However, compared to their looks, the overall strength of the Elf Race paled in comparison and could hardly be considered formidable.
Lacking sufficient strength, their beauty had become a curse upon the Elf Race.
In the Multi-Dimensional Plane, the Elf Race was one of the most sought-after slave races, ranked alongside Mermaids, female members of the Blood Race, and Fox Maidens as the most popular types among male buyers.
It just went to show that the Multi-Dimensional Plane had no shortage of perverts.
Of course, succubi and Desire Demons were equally beautiful.
But few people had the guts to tangle with those two.
It was hard to say who would end up being played.
As Pei Ze and Yin Xue passed by, the elves merely glanced up before returning to their work.
In contrast, a number of fairies flew over, flitting up and down around the pair and sizing them up with curious eyes.
Perhaps sensing the lingering aura of their kin on Pei Ze, the fairies were especially curious about him. A few of the bolder ones even drew close to take a few sniffs, earning him a surprised look from Yin Xue.
After crossing the clearing, they came upon a castle-like building.
With Yin Xue leading the way with practiced ease, the two soon arrived before a room.
The door was open, revealing a long workbench and countless pieces of glassware and equipment inside.
Mo Weng had his back to the door, apparently in the middle of concocting a potion. The gurgling sound of boiling liquid could be heard.
"Come in," Mo Weng said without turning around.
Yin Xue and Pei Ze did as they were told, stepping inside and waiting quietly to one side.
About four or five minutes later, Mo Weng finished his work. He casually put the potion away, turned to Pei Ze, and asked nonchalantly, "How many potions have you mastered?"
"Three," Pei Ze replied.
"Which three?"
"The Ferocity Potion, an antidote potion, and a stamina potion."
Yin Xue shot Pei Ze a look of surprise.
’She knew for a fact that Pei Ze had only been learning to make potions for a month and a half, at most.’
’He’d already mastered three potions in such a short time?’
Mastering a potion didn’t just mean successfully concocting it once. You needed a success rate of at least 30% before you could claim to have mastered it.
Mo Weng’s expression remained unchanged, betraying no emotion. He pointed to the equipment on the workbench and said flatly, "You can use any of the equipment here. Get whatever materials you need from the shelves. I want you to concoct one bottle of each of the three potions, right here and now. Any problems?"
Pei Ze paused for a moment, then gave a slight nod.
"No problem."
He finished speaking and turned, walking toward the shelves in the corner of the room, which were laden with ingredients.
Yin Xue’s eyes widened in surprise. ’She didn’t understand why their teacher suddenly wanted to test Pei Ze’s potion-making skills.’
But as the realization sank in, she frowned to herself.
’Their teacher hated dishonesty and exaggeration more than anything.’
’Pei Ze had spoken with such conviction. If he failed to produce the three potions, or if his success rate was too low, he would surely earn their teacher’s contempt, and might even be thrown out of the garden.’
Unaware of Yin Xue’s concerns, Pei Ze calmly walked over to the shelves.
The shelves held a wide variety of materials, but they were all neatly organized by category and clearly labeled, making them easy to find. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Before long, he had selected the necessary materials for the three potions, taking only two sets of ingredients for each.
Mo Weng raised an eyebrow when he saw the quantity of materials Pei Ze had selected.
Yin Xue, however, could only smile wryly to herself.
’This junior of hers... how could he be so overconfident!’
’Why didn’t he take more ingredients? Did he really think he could succeed in two tries or less?’
’If he failed both times, it would make an even worse impression.’
The workbench was fully equipped, even featuring an expensive Magic Stone Lamp.
However, concocting unranked potions didn’t require so much equipment. Pei Ze selected only a few items, arranged them according to his habit, and then began the process with practiced ease.
He chose to make the Ferocity Potion first, as it was the one he was most familiar with.
He had concocted this potion hundreds of times and couldn’t be more familiar with it. He knew the entire process by heart, and with the Eye of Omniscience to precisely gauge the ingredients’ properties and constantly monitor the liquid’s temperature, the entire process went exceptionally smoothly.
Yin Xue, who had been watching with some concern, found her eyes gradually widening in utter shock as the process unfolded.
She was also extremely familiar with the Ferocity Potion. She had personally concocted it over a thousand times, and her success rate was now as high as 40%.
Yet she now discovered with shock that Pei Ze’s process was even smoother and more refined than her own. It even possessed a kind of fluid elegance.
The entire process was like a captivating performance, drawing the observer in and making them forget everything else.
Mo Weng’s expression also grew serious, his previous indifference replaced by a faint gleam in his deep eyes.
A little over ten minutes later, Pei Ze completed the final step. He poured the viscous, jelly-like liquid into a test tube and sealed it with a wooden stopper. A bottle of Ferocity Potion was complete.
Pei Ze placed the Ferocity Potion on a small rack nearby and prepared to concoct the next potion.
But in the next second, the Ferocity Potion suddenly vanished and reappeared in Mo Weng’s hand.
He first observed the potion’s color, then uncorked it, brought the vial to his nose for a light sniff, and his eyes narrowed slightly.
"There are still some issues with your steps, and the coordination of your Spirit fluctuations has its flaws, which weakened the medicinal properties... But overall, it’s very well done. An outstanding degree of completion, fully meeting the standard for a perfect-grade potion."
Mo Weng gave Pei Ze a slight nod, his expression softening considerably.
"You have a fine talent for alchemy."
Yin Xue listened, dazed, and stared at Pei Ze in utter disbelief.
’He successfully concocted a Ferocity Potion on his first try, and it was perfect-grade!’
’So her junior was an Alchemist prodigy all along!’
