Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 94 - 79: Just How Many Crows Does This Kid Have?
’Ah Beipu’s Power of Corrosion...’
A dark light flickered in Pei Ze’s eyes, gone in an instant.
In less than a minute, hundreds of Fog Crows had already died.
He was slightly surprised by the sheer power of the Power of Corrosion combined with the Power of Earth Element.
But it was only a slight surprise.
The Power of Earth Element granted him incredible Defense Power. No matter how many wounds the Fog Crows left on his rock-like body, he could recover in an instant as long as his feet touched the earth.
The Power of Corrosion was also a powerful counter to incorporeal creatures like the Fog Crows, killing them instantly on contact.
Without a doubt, both of these abilities were incredibly troublesome.
But they weren’t without their flaws.
Neither the Power of Earth Element nor the Power of Corrosion possessed any sort of explosive, wide-area offensive capability.
When faced with a large number of enemies, they could only be cleared out slowly.
This was why Pei Ze didn’t engage Li Ke in close combat, nor did he let Wuyu merge with the Fog Crows to become gigantic.
He was going to fight a war of attrition with Li Ke.
Even the greatest power has its limits. Once he exhausted Li Ke’s strength, dealing with him would be much easier.
Li Ke saw through Pei Ze’s plan and sneered inwardly.
’A mere Third-level Wizard Apprentice, trying to wear me down? He’s courting death!’
’A Wizard Apprentice’s strength against a Knight lies in the explosive power of their Magic. Getting bogged down in a battle of attrition means defeat isn’t far away.’
’Could a Wizard Apprentice’s Spiritual Power possibly be more abundant than my stamina and Elemental Power?’
’Even with a familiar, the result would be the same!’
"We’ll see how many more of these creatures you can summon!"
Li Ke’s gaze turned cold. He threw a punch, and a visible, earthy-yellow wave of force erupted from his fist. Like a shockwave, it tore through the Fog Crows, plowing a large, empty swathe through the flock.
At least thirty or forty Fog Crows died in that single blow.
Nearby, the expressions of Su Ya and Peng Yan changed slightly at the sight.
A cold sneer spread across Li Ke’s face.
But a second later, the smile on his face suddenly froze.
Dark mist billowed around Wuyu on Pei Ze’s shoulder, and another dense swarm of Fog Crows flew out to join the siege against Li Ke.
The flock, which had begun to thin, was dense once more in the blink of an eye.
Li Ke’s cheek twitched. With a cold snort, he resumed slaughtering the flock.
Just then, Pei Ze raised his hand and fired a Weakness Beam at Li Ke.
Elemental Power offered some resistance to Magic, so when the Weakness Beam hit Li Ke, its effects were noticeably weakened and lasted only three to four minutes.
He had to reapply the "debuff" on Li Ke every few moments.
After the Weakness Beam hit, Pei Ze took a moment to prepare before raising his hand to fire a Magic Missile.
Thanks to the telepathic link between Pei Ze and Wuyu, the flock of crows parted precisely every time, clearing a flight path for the Magic Missile to hit Li Ke.
After taking four or five Magic Missiles in a row, Li Ke was still uninjured, but the faint yellow glow covering his body had dimmed somewhat.
Annoyed by Pei Ze’s attacks, he simply ignored the flock’s assault and charged toward Pei Ze.
However, just as his attack was about to land, Li Ke was stunned to find that the Pei Ze before him was yet another illusion.
"You cunning brat!"
Li Ke ground his teeth in frustration and abandoned the useless tactic.
With the flock providing cover, Pei Ze could use Silent Illusion to hide his location at any time. There was no way for Li Ke to get to his real body.
’Once I’ve dealt with these crows, we’ll see where you can run and hide!’
Li Ke silently resolved to be more ruthless and quickened his pace, slaughtering the crows even faster.
Under his ferocious assault, the rate at which the Fog Crows died skyrocketed.
Watching the battle, Su Ya and Peng Yan subconsciously clenched their fists, their white knuckles betraying their inner tension and unease.
But as time went on, their expressions slowly turned to confusion.
Since the battle began, Li Ke must have killed at least seven or eight hundred Fog Crows, yet the flock besieging him never seemed to shrink.
And when they looked at Wuyu on Pei Ze’s shoulder, the stream of Fog Crows flying out of its body seemed endless. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
’Just how many crows are inside that thing?’
The exact same thought flashed through the minds of both Su Ya and Peng Yan.
They had witnessed Wuyu’s Summoning Fog Crow ability many times, but only now did it dawn on them that they had apparently never seen the limit of the flock’s numbers.
Even back when he was dealing with over twenty heretics, Pei Ze had only summoned five or six hundred Fog Crows.
They had assumed that was the summoning limit for Pei Ze’s familiar, but now, it seemed that number was far from the true maximum.
Li Ke was just as shocked and uncertain.
By this point, he had already consumed more than half of his Elemental Power, yet the surrounding flock remained abnormally dense, almost completely filling his vision.
It was at this moment that he finally realized something was wrong.
’Damn it! Just how many crows does this kid have?’
Li Ke was a mixture of shocked and furious, but now a thread of panic was rising within him as well.
’The situation has spiraled out of my control.’
’At this moment, my earlier confidence is completely gone, replaced only by shock and doubt.’
After fighting bitterly for a while longer and killing another hundred or so crows, Li Ke saw that the flock still showed no signs of diminishing. The last shred of wishful thinking in his heart finally dissipated, replaced by the thought of retreat.
’This kid, Pei Ze, is an absolute monster!’
’He’s only sixteen, but he’s more dangerous than veterans who have spent years as a Third-level Wizard Apprentice!’
’If I keep fighting him, I might just suffer a humiliating defeat.’
