Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 97 - 80: What the Hell, How Many Spells Is That Now?
Pei Ze’s physical prowess was surprisingly formidable, nearly at the level of a Peak Grand Knight!
Even if part of it was due to a potion’s enhancement, his original physique was at least at the level of a Senior Grand Knight!
How was this possible?!
Huo Nan was completely aghast.
’Not only did he advance to a Third-level Wizard Apprentice at sixteen, but he even cultivated his breathing technique to the level of a Senior Grand Knight. Is this kid a monster or what?’
’This level of talent is just outrageous!’
Huo Nan was both shocked and incredulous, and this only solidified his resolve to eliminate Pei Ze.
Sensing the murderous intent that suddenly blazed in Huo Nan’s eyes, Pei Ze gave a cold inner smile. He ignored Huo Nan’s attack, instead countering with a slash aimed at the man’s neck.
’Trading injury for injury?’
Huo Nan’s eyes went cold. He was shielded by Elemental Power; he had no reason to fear Pei Ze’s attack.
’But this kid, relying on some Magic Items and Defense Magic, actually dares to clash with me head-on. Does he really think my Elemental Power is just for show?’
Huo Nan didn’t hesitate to pour more Elemental Power into his weapon, then brought it down viciously on Pei Ze.
Instantly, with a muffled POP like a bursting bubble, the Protective Ring on Pei Ze’s finger went dim as its Protective Force Field shattered.
It was followed by a faint CRACK as the Mage Armor was also shattered by the Elemental Power.
A vicious grin spread across Huo Nan’s face, but a second later, the unyielding impact traveling up his blade made his smile freeze.
’Another layer of Mage Armor?’
’How is there still more?’
Huo Nan was stunned. Before he could react, he saw Pei Ze slightly raise his finger. Twenty Mana Missiles materialized instantly, striking him at nearly the same moment as the sword.
At the same time, the sound of tearing wind came from behind as Wuyu raised its sharp claws and lunged, aiming for the center of his back.
In an instant, Huo Nan found himself attacked from both front and back.
His expression changed drastically. With a great roar, the red light enveloping his body flared, erupting into a surging torrent of flame. The blast annihilated the Magic Missiles and sent both Pei Ze and Wuyu flying.
However, when the wave of flames dissipated, Huo Nan’s face was slightly pale. The move had clearly taken a significant toll.
SWISH!
A hazy gray beam of light shot out like an arrow, striking Huo Nan in the chest. He felt his body grow heavy, a sudden wave of weakness washing over him.
Weakness Beam!
"Damn it!"
Huo Nan swore under his breath and charged at Pei Ze again. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Meanwhile, Su Ya and Peng Yan were watching, completely dumbfounded.
"So Sir Pei Ze’s melee skills are this incredible..." Peng Yan murmured, his expression one of shock.
Su Ya’s face was also filled with astonishment.
In their previous battles, they had never seen Pei Ze engage in close combat. They had subconsciously assumed his physique was average—at the level of a Knight, at best.
But who could have guessed that Pei Ze’s melee prowess wasn’t just ’not weak’—it was even greater than either of theirs!
It was beyond comprehension!
The realization was a heavy blow to both Su Ya and Peng Yan.
’It was one thing to be outmatched in other areas, but to be inferior to Pei Ze even in melee combat—their own specialty—was just too demoralizing.’
’Can the gap between one person and another really be this vast?’
"I’m suddenly feeling like we’re pretty useless here," Peng Yan grumbled.
The corner of Su Ya’s mouth twitched, but she couldn’t find the words to argue.
As the fight dragged on, Huo Nan began to notice something strange about Pei Ze.
No matter how many layers of Mage Armor he shattered, he could never seem to actually land a blow on his opponent.
At one point, he even unleashed a martial skill, shattering three layers of Mage Armor in a single blow, only to be blocked by a fourth.
"Just how many layers of Mage Armor does this guy have on him?"
Huo Nan was so furious he could have spat blood.
’Since when can Mage Armor be stacked?’
’It’s not the fucking Shield spell!’
Shocked and enraged as he was, Huo Nan was helpless.
Facing Pei Ze, whose defenses were as thick as a turtle shell, he had no idea where to even begin his attack.
He was even being pushed back, flustered and disheveled, by Pei Ze, who had completely abandoned defense to focus solely on trading blow for blow.
After all, the Power of Fire Element specialized in offense; its defensive capabilities were far inferior to the Power of Earth Element. Facing the ferocious, combined assault of Pei Ze and Wuyu, Huo Nan was truly starting to feel the pressure.
"This kid had a huge fight with Li Ke earlier, so his Spiritual Power must have taken a big hit. Now he’s casting Magic nonstop... his Spiritual Power has to be close to empty. I just need to hold out a little longer. Once his Spiritual Power hits rock bottom, finishing him will be a piece of cake!"
This was the only way Huo Nan could console himself.
What he didn’t know was that the modified Magic Pei Ze cast consumed less than half the usual amount of Spiritual Power—only about one point per spell.
In the previous battle with Li Ke, Pei Ze had only consumed a little over thirty points of Spiritual Power.
His remaining Spiritual Power was enough to cast another one hundred forty to one hundred fifty spells—more than enough to sustain a high-intensity battle.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The roar of exploding Magic Missiles echoed incessantly over the street.
Flashes of fire and glints of steel flickered and danced, weaving into a chaotic blur.
The fierce battle had Su Ya and Peng Yan on the edge of their seats, so tense they didn’t even notice the sweat trickling down their cheeks.
As time went on, however, their expressions gradually shifted to a mixture of confusion and bewilderment.
Initially, they had thought the same as Huo Nan: given the frequency with which Pei Ze was casting Magic, he surely couldn’t keep it up for long.
After all, according to their knowledge, an ordinary Third-level Wizard Apprentice could cast twenty to thirty spells, at most, before completely depleting their Spiritual Power.
Yet from the start of the fight until now, Pei Ze had already cast what must have been seventy or eighty spells.
And that wasn’t even counting the number of times he had cast Mage Armor, which they were too far away to see clearly.
If they were to actually count them all, it was probably over a hundred!
