Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 99 - 81: The Boiling Station
’What a monster!’
Huo Nan’s heart was filled with grief and indignation. He wanted to throw his head back and roar at the sky.
’I’ve never seen such a freak!’
A full twenty-six layers of Mage Armor!
Even stacking shield spells isn’t this ridiculous!
Huo Nan had exhausted all his strength, even unleashing a forbidden technique at the cost of a portion of his own life. The attack was powerful enough to heavily wound, if not kill, an expert of the same level. Yet Pei Ze had blocked it just like that. How could he not feel a bitter mix of grief and indignation?
What’s more, Pei Ze’s Mage Armor clearly hadn’t been used up.
’Who the hell knows how many more layers of Mage Armor he has?’
Faced with such a monstrous opponent, Huo Nan felt powerlessness and despair well up from the depths of his soul.
Meanwhile, Su Ya and Peng Yan could only stare, dumbfounded.
When the Flaming Giant Wolf had appeared, they could feel its wild, scorching heat even from a great distance. It had been almost hard to breathe.
Their hearts had seized in terror, afraid Pei Ze would be killed by the blow.
But the outcome was completely beyond their expectations.
Not only had Pei Ze blocked the attack, but he was also completely unharmed.
The two looked at each other, both feeling as if they were in a dream.
’He’s too strong!’
As Su Ya and Peng Yan watched with awe-filled eyes, Pei Ze leisurely walked up to Huo Nan and looked down at him.
Huo Nan met Pei Ze’s impassive gaze and shuddered violently. As if jolted from a nightmare, he cried out, "Wait! I can compensate you! Just spare me, I’ll give you anything you want..."
Before he could finish, a blade flashed. Huo Nan’s voice cut off abruptly as his head flew through the air and hit the ground, rolling a dozen meters before coming to a stop.
His deathly pale face was frozen in an expression of utter despair and terror.
Without a second glance, Pei Ze flicked the tip of his sword. The dimensional bag on the corpse flew into the air, and he caught it and tucked it away.
Next, he took the dimensional bag from Li Ke’s corpse. Only then did he walk back to where he’d been standing and pick up the Active Shield from the ground.
After a careful inspection, Pei Ze let out a slight sigh of relief.
’Thankfully, the Active Shield’s energy is just temporarily depleted. It’ll recover after I nurture it with Spiritual Power for a while.’
He had to admit, the power of Huo Nan’s final attack was astonishing.
’It not only broke through the Active Shield but also completely consumed the Fog Crows inside Wuyu. It’ll probably take at least half a month for them to recover.’
Even then, its residual power had still managed to shatter over twenty layers of his Mage Armor before finally dissipating.
Any other Third-level Wizard Apprentice would have almost certainly been annihilated by that attack, leaving not even a corpse behind.
’A Legendary Knight may not be on par with an Official Wizard, but they still shouldn’t be underestimated. You never know what kind of powerful trump cards they might be hiding,’ Pei Ze reflected inwardly.
Despite this, he didn’t feel particularly tense.
Even if all his Mage Armor had shattered, he still had the protection of his Magic Heavy Armor.
The anti-magic properties of the Magic Heavy Armor also offered significant resistance to Elemental Power.
Huo Nan’s attack was never going to be able to seriously injure him.
Letting out a long sigh of relief, Pei Ze turned to the approaching Su Ya and Peng Yan. "Let’s go back to the encampment."
Without waiting for their response, he turned and walked in the direction of the encampment.
Su Ya and Peng Yan hurriedly followed.
After the events of tonight, their admiration and reverence for Pei Ze had reached a new height.
Killing two experts on the level of Legendary Knights in a single night was a ridiculously impressive feat.
’Among all the Third-level Wizard Apprentices in this operation, who else but Pei Ze could have done that?’
On the way to the encampment, Pei Ze took out a piece of parchment. He wrote an account of the night’s events, sealed it with a Secret Technique Mark, and then used a minor spell to transform the letter into a silver butterfly, which he handed to Su Ya.
"Take it to the entrance of High Tower Academy and release it. It will find the recipient on its own."
Su Ya immediately agreed. She carefully cupped the butterfly in her palms and hurried off toward High Tower Academy.
Pei Ze and Peng Yan continued on towards the City Guard Army encampment.
As the two were about to reach the encampment, a black shadow suddenly shot towards them from the distance like a meteor.
Peng Yan’s expression tightened. He subconsciously drew his weapon to intercept the shadow but was stopped by Pei Ze.
Pei Ze slowly extended his hand.
The next moment, the black shadow instantly transitioned from extreme speed to complete stillness, landing lightly on the back of his hand.
It was a night owl.
Its bright black eyes stared silently at Pei Ze. It slowly opened its beak, but the voice that came out was a deep, resonant male human voice.
"I already know what happened. I will handle the aftermath. You can return to the encampment without worry."
It was Mo Weng’s voice.
"Yes, Teacher," Pei Ze replied respectfully.
The night owl gave a slight nod, flapped its wings, and soared into the sky, disappearing into the night in the blink of an eye.
It was only then that Su Ya came hurrying back from a distance.
From her breathless appearance, it was clear she had run at full speed the entire way.
"Good work."
Pei Ze nodded at her, then led the two of them into the encampment.
Before long, the encampment erupted into a clamor, like water poured into boiling oil.
...
"What?"
Gu Lin had just returned. After hearing what Fan He said, she almost jumped out of her skin, like a cat whose tail had just been stepped on. Her pretty face was a mask of utter disbelief.
"Pei Ze killed the Berserk Drinker?"
"It’s the absolute truth!" Fan He’s eyes were wide with amazement. "The news is all over the encampment. They’ve already brought the Berserk Drinker’s body back."
Hearing this, Gu Lin no longer had any doubts. She stood there, completely stunned.
She knew Pei Ze was strong, but she never imagined he would be *this* strong.
’That was a Legendary Knight-level expert!’
