All My Professions Have Divine-Level Talents
Chapter 183 - 134: Storage and Coldness, Part 3
Kumironi was handling business at the Life Church today. She was currently in a meeting, so Lu Cang waited for her in the church’s Library.
He took the opportunity to browse the church’s collection.
’I really should visit more libraries. There are always so many discoveries to be made.’
In the Life Church’s Library, Lu Cang found four more books containing Secrets.
One book was about the "Recipe for the Spring of Life."
Another contained a story, "The Tale of the Eternal Indestructible Heart."
A third described a type of constitution called the "Life Source Body."
And the last book recorded incomplete Combat Skills from the "Life Abundant School."
They could enhance one’s life force...
’With Peeping into Secrets, it feels like I can find endless treasures just by casually browsing.’
While waiting for Kumironi’s meeting to end, Lu Cang went ahead and practiced the Combat Skills of the Life Abundant School.
There were only two forms, and both were focused on preserving one’s health.
They were used to break through the normal limits of one’s physical body, greatly enhancing its Defense Power, Recovery Power, and more...
In a short period of time, Lu Cang had raised his Skill Proficiency with these two forms to Level 301.
The strength of his physical body had once again made a breakthrough.
’Speaking of which... maybe I should consider learning some other Combat Skills, too?’
Suddenly, he felt a subtle stir in his Perception.
He sensed that the Restriction on the meeting room had been lifted.
Kumironi walked out of the meeting room.
Upon sensing Lu Cang, she paused for a moment, then instantly appeared at his side.
"What’s wrong, Little Lu Cang?"
"Sister Kumironi, the heretics you’ve captured... they’ll be sentenced to extreme punishment, right?"
Kumironi replied, "That’s right."
"In that case, could this extreme punishment be made a little... special?"
Kumironi asked, "Little Lu Cang, are you thinking...?"
"I want to give Uncle Ai Jin another push to help him on his path as an Enchanter."
"Besides, it would be very convenient if we could create a Storage Space that can hold living things, right?"
Kumironi, however, frowned slightly.
"Little Lu Cang... I’m sorry, but I can’t help you with this."
"Life should not be a tool to be exploited."
"They have committed grievous wrongs, but that is no reason to trample on their lives. They will receive a fitting punishment, one that may even include endless suffering, but they are absolutely not to be used as materials to satisfy personal desires."
"At least... people are not."
Kumironi’s voice was low.
These were the principles she lived by.
Lu Cang lowered his head. "Kumironi, I’m sorry."
"I shouldn’t have brought this up with you."
Kumironi shook her head. "It’s fine. I can understand your reasoning, Little Lu Cang."
"We all have our own principles."
"It’s fine as long as our principles don’t clash. If you truly have such a need, Little Lu Cang, you could go and ask at the Judgement Hall."
"Just know that, here at the Life Church, such things are not permitted."
Lu Cang nodded.
He understood the meaning behind Kumironi’s words.
It was normal to need to do such things, but they had to be done out of sight of Kumironi and the Life Church.
With so many Professions and Churches in this world, everyone’s principles were bound to conflict to some degree.
As long as it was done in the shadows, they would turn a blind eye.
But if you were blatant about it...
They would have no choice but to intervene.
When Lu Cang returned to the Mysterious Magical Items Shop and told Ai Jin what had happened, Ai Jin mocked him relentlessly.
Running to the Life Church to tell them you wanted to use one of the Death Church’s Evil Techniques to desecrate life.
How was that any different from just asking for a fight?
He was lucky it was Kumironi, someone he knew well.
If it had been a Bishop he didn’t know, they would have likely shouted "Heretic!" and had him seized on the spot.
Thinking about it, Lu Cang broke out in a cold sweat.
’My understanding of this world’s common sense is still far too shallow.’
In the end, Ai Jin and Lu Cang went to the Judgement Hall together.
Some of the Death Church’s heretics were imprisoned there, and the people at the Judgement Hall were much easier to deal with.
When they heard that Ai Jin was a newly promoted Level 6 Enchanter, their attitude softened considerably right from the start.
Then they heard all about Lu Cang—the genius who had won the War God Cup and received the Void Spirit Star Wood from the King.
They immediately became deferential, letting the two of them inside.
The subsequent negotiations were also very amicable.
The Kingdom had never looked kindly on these heretics; killing them was killing them, no matter the method.
The Judgement Hall wasn’t the Life Church; it wasn’t bound by so many principles regarding the sanctity of life.
As long as the prisoner didn’t escape, anything else was fine.
Furthermore, Ai Jin spent a few Gold Coins to grease the wheels, making the process even smoother.
They easily managed to "borrow" a prime specimen of a prisoner.
He was apparently some kind of High Priest from the Death Church, a Level 4 Evil Mage.
Evil Mage wasn’t a Secret Scroll Profession like Death Priest. Instead, it was a Profession one could change to through a standard prayer and a class-change Ritual.
This Profession was not openly permitted.
Therefore, it wasn’t listed as a common Profession, but the class-change Ritual for it existed within the Death Church.
"Yage Se."
"A ’celebrated hero’ in the Death Church’s records. All his bloody deeds are noted in this book. He murdered the parents of ten children right in front of them, just to drive them insane... and that is apparently the lightest of his recorded sins."
"Heh, makes your skin crawl, doesn’t it?"
"He perfectly fits your requirements. In fact, even if you hadn’t come asking for him, he was already scheduled to be sentenced to a torturous death by the Judgement Hall."
"Haha, yes, an execution designed to be as painful as possible."
"We originally planned to make the execution public, to serve as a warning and deter others who might be getting restless."
