Chapter 169: Chapter 169

A carriage was arranged to take all four of them back to the main college grounds, Dio had chosen to wait for his boyfriend so there were four of them. They broke up into pairs and sat opposite each other in the carriage, moonlight streaming in as they were taken to their dorm building.

"Is Henri alright?" Claude broke the silence, by this time they were getting closer to their destination, the artificial lights brightening up the interior of the carriage.

So it was easy to clearly see that Henri had fallen asleep again, it was a little concerning because usually, he would have been wide awake, at least until he got back to the privacy of his dorm room. Claude let him rest comfortably on his shoulders but if it were all up to the Alpha, he would pull Henri into his arms again.

Louis looked troubled by this question, "I’m worried that he’s coming down with something but I don’t think he’ll agree to visit the Infirmary until he’s fallen completely sick."

That sounded exactly like Henri that Claude didn’t even bother to refute it or scold Louis for not trying anyway. Claude had been keeping his distance from Henri and he had also had his hands full with Alexander to properly pay attention to Henri, it also didn’t help that the Omega was very good at masking how he truly felt.

So it wasn’t till they were on the camping trip that Alexander noticed that Henri seemed a bit duller and after the hectic day they had, he wouldn’t be surprised if the Prince woke up with a fever.

"I’ll take him to his room," Claude said shortly when they came down from the carriage, Henri was still asleep so he just carried him into the dorm building.

Louis stood in the foyer with Dio by his side, watching Claude take Henri to his room as he said. He was always antagonizing Claude but he was confident that Henri would be safe with him, the Alpha returning with Henri completely unharmed was enough to clear any lingering doubts he might have had.

He turned to throw himself at Dio with an exhausted sigh, "Want to shower together?"

Dio caught him easily, "Sure, want me to carry you upstairs?"

Louis didn’t pull away, "Yes, please."

The hallways were deserted which was expected as the entirety of the school was still at the patch of forest next to the college. He pushed open the door to Henri’s dorm room and stepped inside, walking over to place him on the bed.

Claude stood motionlessly for a few minutes, wary of doing anything. He needed Henri to take a bath before sleeping but that would involve waking him up and Claude wasn’t too eager to do that, he also had no intentions of leaving Henri alone, at least not tonight.

Reluctantly, he gently shook Henri’s arm, grey eyes slowly opening when he did. "You need to clean up before sleeping." He said gently.

Henri made a tutting sound, looking unimpressed with his words but he did sit up and get out of bed. He didn’t seem to care much that Claude was still present, grabbing some clothes from his wardrobe before disappearing into the bathroom.

It felt odd just standing in the middle of his room listening to the water run so Claude decided to listen to his own words and quickly head to his dorm room to quickly clean up as well. He was back in record time, knocking gently before opening the door to find out that Henri still wasn’t down with bathing.

Claude frowned, he would have thought that the other would have hurried out to get some sleep by now, or did he... He didn’t even let the rest of his thoughts play out, hurrying across the expanse of the dorm room to knock on the door.

After frantically knocking for a while, it was evident that he wouldn’t be getting any response so he tried the door knob. Surprisingly it was open, so he gingerly stepped in. Claude wasn’t worried about Henri being attacked in his absence, what he was worried about though was the sleepy Omega falling asleep in his bathtub and drowning.

"Henri?" He called out, slowly walking in. A sweet scent filled the bathroom, mixed with a gentle warm mist. There was a translucent curtain in front of the bath and Henri looked to be fast asleep behind it.

Claude sighed in relief, it was his fault for making Henri take a bath when he was so sleepy. He stepped even closer keeping the curtain between them. "Henri?" He called again, louder this time.

Henri started, spilling some of the water from his delicately carved wooden tub. He didn’t even remember falling asleep, the water was just too nice. Even now that he was awake, he was reluctant to leave the warm water but he knew that if he didn’t he would fall fast asleep again.

"I’m up," He said in a muffled voice, sitting up. Water droplets rolled down his pink-tinged skin, the cool air unwelcome.

Claude quickly made himself scarce after making sure that Henri hadn’t drowned in his tub. Returning to the room proper where he settled behind Henri’s reading desk. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Henri should probably be more concerned about Claude’s presence but if he could just get one straight hour of uninterrupted sleep maybe then he would be able to fire up enough brain cells to be bothered.

He dried up and pulled on the nightclothes that he had grabbed from his wardrobe, somehow managing to properly button up without mistakes. He didn’t bother with his sleeves, padding out of the steaming bathroom with plans to fall dead asleep till it was light.

He still had no idea what time it was but surely it couldn’t be that late. A quick check told him it was some time past ten, and he should probably be hungry but the urge to sleep was greater.

Henri sat on his bed and turned around to look at Claude, "You don’t plan to sit there all night, do you?" He asked lucidly.

This caught Claude off guard because Henri had practically walked past him in a trance like he hadn’t even noticed he was there. "I should stay," He said with difficulty, not wanting to impose.

Henri scoffed, "I’m not asking you to leave, I’m asking you to at least sit on the bed, it’s far more comfortable." He said flippantly, crawling under the sheets.

Claude still sat for a few more seconds, even more shocked. He had fully expected Henri to kick him out and had not at all expected the Omega to invite him to share his bed. He pushed off the chair he was on nonetheless, getting on the other side on top of the sheets.
