Chapter 187: Chapter 187

Louis woke up first, just as the first rays of the sun brightened the morning. He opened his eyes to find Dio’s face buried in his neck, the Alpha was half-lying on him, his arms tightly wrapped around his middle.

Prying Dio off without waking him up would be a feat in itself but Louis needed to check up on Henri as he promised. He managed it somehow, pushing a pillow into Dio’s hold to keep the Alpha’s hands occupied while he crawled off their joined beds.

He was wearing nothing but a different pair of Dio’s dress shirts and he was surprisingly not shy at the realization that his boyfriend had been the one to clean him up. He just quickly brushed his teeth and splashed water on his face before pulling on his pants.

He snuck one last look at a sleeping Dio before stepping out of the dorm room. It was still a bit quiet although it was gradually getting brighter because it was a class-free day, most students would take the opportunity to sleep in.

Louis knocked softly on Henri’s door, he didn’t want to wake the other if he was still asleep. He tried the doorknob afterward, pleased that it opened up easily. He slowly peeked in, wary about what he would find, the first indication that it was safe to go in was when a whiff of the air told him that Henri’s heat had passed.

That was enough for Louis to hurry in, slowing down when he found Henri fast asleep on his bed. He sighed in relief, he knew that Henri would be capable of taking care of himself... His thoughts trailed off when he got a better look at Henri and found that his neck was littered with telltale red marks.

His mouth fell open in horror, it couldn’t be, right? There had to be some mistake of some kind, but the evidence was staring him right in the face and the only person left behind with Henri was Claude.

He spun around, ready to stomp over to Claude’s room to berate the Alpha and take out several of his teeth with his trusty rolling pin when Henri rousing stopped him.

"Louis?"

Henri’s soft voice made him hurry over to his side, "Henri? Are you alright? Did Claude do anything to you?"

Henri blinked vapidly, trying to make sense of Louis’ questions, the one thing that clicked was Claude’s name which made him shoot upright. "Is Claude here?" He asked a little too eagerly, grey eyes drowsy.

Louis’ concern only grew, "No, he’s not... What happened?"

"Nothing," Henri shrugged, relaxing against his pillows again. "I just wanted to thank him."

Louis stood motionless, was he misinterpreting the whole scene? Because Henri seemed just fine. It was also out of character for Claude to do anything to harm Henri, that calmed him down sufficiently.

"Want me to get him for you?" He offered, nothing how Henri’s eyes brightened a bit at that - it was getting really difficult to not misinterpret the scene in front of him.

"He’s probably exhausted," Henri said indulgently, turning to his side to reveal clear teeth marks on his shoulder when his shirt slipped down slightly.

Louis was a hairsbreadth away from hyperventilating - what the hell did Henri mean by that?! What did they do?? He had to sit down, he felt a little light-headed. It would probably be all cleared up if he just asked but he couldn’t! How could he ask the Prince if the son of the Grand Duke had attended to him in his heat?? This was a mess...

Henri looked perfectly fine, he wasn’t troubled or fidgety like he should have been if something terrible had happened. There was only one other option, he would jump Claude nonetheless and unless the Alpha had a perfectly reasonable explanation, he would be getting a rolling pin to his face.

"Are you hungry? Do you want to sleep some more, I could..."

"No, don’t leave," Henri said hastily, jumping to his feet with a surprising amount of energy. It was a little difficult to relate how he was currently to how he had been just the night before.

Louis choked silently when Henri stepped out of his sheets, he was wearing nothing but a dress shirt that skimmed pale thighs but that wasn’t the most devastating thing there was. He also had visible fingerprints on his thighs!

The tawny-haired Alpha wished he could sit down further than he was already sitting down, anything to settle the bees buzzing in his brain. He should probably be more worried about the fact that Henri wasn’t as self-conscious as he usually was, but the series of shocking findings didn’t give him the breathing space to.

The Omega glided over to his wardrobe to put on pants, "Have you eaten yet, Louis?"

Louis snapped out of his trance, shooting to his feet. "I haven’t," He said quietly, noting that Henri seemed warmer and softer in a way that had nothing to do with the aftermath of his heat.

"Let’s go down to the cafeteria to get something," Henri suggested, finger-combing his hair absently.

"Not going to use your scent blockers?" He pointed without judgment, if Henri wanted to go out without it, Louis would stand by his decision.

"Almost forgot," Henri muttered, beelining to his bathroom instead.

Louis clutched his hair, feeling like he hadn’t seen Henri for years and not just for a few hours. Henri never forgot to use his scent blockers, at least not after he became aware of them. He was always quick to point out how much of a nuisance his sweet scent was, what had changed?

What in the fresh hell did Claude do to him to crack his hard exterior? This was more of a reason to be terrified of the other Alpha.

Henri came out after a few minutes, his sleeves wet and his scent gone, although there was still a thick cloud of it present in his dorm room. "Let’s get you changed out of that shirt," Louis said kindly, going to Henri’s wardrobe to get a change of clothes for his friend.

He had expected Henri to push him out of the way or tell him not to worry that he could get it himself like he usually did but Henri just glanced at his wet sleeves. "What? They’ll dry."

Louis laughed despite himself, "That’s not the only reason," He corrected, taking out another shirt. "It smells sweet, although you could pass it off for perfume." He teased.

Henri grimaced, an expression on his face that was closer to how he usually was. "I doubt that would work."
