Alpha Academy BL
Chapter 189
Audie beelined straight for Henri, faltering at the incriminating marks on his neck. Louis frantically made gestures for him not to say anything, not that Audie was about to, he had some sense of self-preservation. He was just in awe of the Alpha that had been able to tame the feisty Omega.
He expected Henri to make a quip about them bothering him and not at all expecting the other to make space for him on the carpet and invite him to take some buttered bread. He shot concerned looks at Louis, who quickly and silently denied knowing what was happening.
Only Henri and Dio were genuinely enjoying the meal, Louis and Audie were busy having a silent conversation over Henri’s head while Valentin was in a ball of panic trying to keep the hickey on his neck.
"I almost forgot, my roommate got taken by members of staff for some crime against the Prince!" Audie suddenly blurted out, "What crime was that, Henri? Was that still about the assassination attempt?"
Henri shared a look with Louis, their eyes wide in surprise. "I’m not sure," Henri said slowly, looking thoughtful.
"I wanted to tell you, Vale but I don’t know where your room is." Audie diverted the conversation, slinging an arm around Valentin’s shoulders much to the other Alpha’s horror. "Let’s stop mooching off Henri and go to your dorm room instead."
"Or yours, seeing as you’re all alone now," Valentin said stiffly, a lump in his throat.
Stars sparkled in Audie’s eyes, "Why didn’t I think about that?" He jumped to his feet, intending to make away with the food left over.
Henri just got to his feet and stretched, making no move to stop Audie, he was full after all.
Audie faltered at that, Henri always jumped on the chance to scold him.
Louis let Dio pull him off the ground, "We’re also full so if you’re up for it, you can finish up the rest of the food." He offered politely.
Audie just inched closer to imperceptibly whisper to him, "Is Henri alright?"
"I’m sure he’s fine," Louis said easily.
Audie frowned, "You don’t sound very sure."
While they were whispering to each other, Valentin was already gathering up the rest of the food that they would be taking to Audie’s dorm room, eager to get out of there before he was found out. If he didn’t want anyone to know who his roommate was before, now he absolutely couldn’t let them know.
"Let’s get going, Audie." He called to his friend, already starting for the door.
Audie reluctantly followed after Valentin, sneaking one last look at Henri who was rolling around on his bed with Dio much to Louis’ disapproval.
"What’s up with you?" Audie slung an arm around Valentin as they made their way down the hallway.
"Nothing," Valentin mumbled, keeping his gaze forward.
"Sure about... hold on, there’s something on your neck," He suddenly cut himself off.
Valentin felt all the heat in his body drain away, his fingertips going cold. Audie couldn’t have seen it, right-
"Oh, it’s just a piece of thread," Audie said, picking it up.
Valentin couldn’t help but glare at the Alpha at that, his heart had nearly crumbled from anxiety. Never mind that the hickey was actually on the other side of his neck from where Audie currently was.
"Sorry," Audie chuckled nervously, taking his arm from Valentin’s shoulders much to his relief. "Say what do you think the crime is about?"
Valentin could relax somewhat now that Audie had put some distance between them; he thought about it, it would mean that Alexander had actually been telling the truth. He was pretty sure that he knew what crime it was but he wasn’t interested in letting Audie know how he had been made privy to that information so he just shrugged noncomittally.
"Guessed as much, want to go exploring?" The energetic Alpha immediately changed the topic of their conversation. "It’s a class-free day so we get to do whatever we want."
Valentin was hardly listening, nodding in acceptance without knowing what he was agreeing to.
"Wait, really?" Audie brightened up, he had been expecting Valentin to turn him down seeing that the Alpha seemed a little glum that morning but this was much better. He would make sure to improve his mood with his carefully planned exploration.
Valentin snapped out of his daze, realizing that he wasn’t exactly sure about what Audie was talking about but he didn’t want to let his friend down when he seemed so excited. "Of course," He agreed, hoping that he hadn’t just agreed to something that he would come to regret.
After eating and cleaning up, Audie jumped to his feet, excitement brimming out his dark eyes. "You should move in with me!" He suddenly blurted out.
Valentin glanced at him, hoping that this wasn’t what he had agreed to earlier. It would probably do him a world of good to do just that but he didn’t want it to seem like he was running away from Alexander, besides last night was merely a ripple effect of Henri’s heat pheromones and Valentin not knowing when to stop - nothing more.
"Why? I’m fine in my own dorm room." He countered.
"Talking about your dorm room, where is it? Third floor? What room number?"
Valentin just let all of Audie’s frantic inquiries roll down his back, "It doesn’t matter."
"Not fair! You know mine!"
"Which means, there’s no reason to know mine as well." He said calmly.
Audie made a sound of frustration, he could convince Valentin to tell him anything but this one thing, it made him all the more curious. "Fine, if you won’t tell me I’ll stop pushing."
"I’ll cut your hair in your sleep if you try to sneakily follow me to my dorm room." Valentin threatened.
"Fine, fine," He immediately raised his hands in surrender, "Let’s go exploring then, I found this abandoned cellar and I’ve been waiting for the perfect chance to check it out-"
Valentin felt his heartbeat stop, he wasn’t too quick to forget how their first abandoned building exploration had gone. At least, it wasn’t night this time so he should be fine...
As if! It was a cellar! It was going to be underground, which meant it would be dark and filled with crawling creatures.
