Julius closed his laptop slowly, his mind heavy with the words of the tech specialist.

He stood up from the couch, his body rigid with a cold anger.

The penthouse was dead quiet, but the air felt charged.

Harrison’s dark eyes remained fixed on Julius’s pale face, his jaw clenched tight as his Enigma scent continued to flare with a protective aggression.

"A rat," Julius repeated, his voice barely a whisper as he stared blankly at the dark screen. "There is a fucking rat in my company trying to kill my family."

"We go to Vane Global Holdings right now," Julius said, turning toward the door, his eyes bright with fury.

"I want to call a board meeting immediately and fire every single executive. I’ll have them dragged out by security until someone talks. There is no time to sit around."

"And then the real rat walks out the back door while you’re busy yelling," Harrison countered, his voice steady.

He reached out, his large palm coming down over Julius’s clenched fist, pressing it flat against the counter.

"If you fire the whole board right now, you spook them. The spy will delete their files and run straight to Void Corporation before we get a name. We have to be smart."

Julius stared at Harrison’s large hand over his own.

The steady warmth of Harrison’s touch slowly pulled him back from the edge.

Julius let out a long breath, his shoulders dropping.

"I built that company by myself, nothing, I just feel useless now, sitting down here with the whole news and knowing I might have to fold my hands for some minutes." Julius said, rage filling him.

"Don’t act ImpulsivelyJulius, I have an idea on what we should do."

"So what do we do?" Julius asked, his voice turning low and serious.

"I can’t just sit in my office and pretend everything is fine."

"We lay a trap," Harrison said simply.

He lifted his hand.

"Let me handle the street side of this, and you handle the digital side."

Julius finally looked down at his hands, fisting them then he nods his head towards Harrison, while Harrison walked into the living room to grab his secure cell phone.

Harrison dialed a number he knew by heart.

The line rang twice before a deep, rough voice answered.

"Yeah," Daniel said.

"Daniel, I need a job done," Harrison said, his tone turning cold.

"I need you to look into the high-level employees of Vane Global Holdings."

"The CEO’s company?" Daniel asked. "What are we looking for?"

"A rat," Harrison replied.

"Someone inside that building authorized a five-million-dollar payout to the shooters last night. They used an internal server. Use your underworld contacts. Talk to the shady bank managers and the guys who help people hide dirty money. See if anyone from Vane Global has made any massive cash deposits in the last week."

"Consider it done," Daniel said with a low chuckle.

"If a man in suit moved some heavy cash under the table, I’ll find out by tonight. Do you want me to bring them in?"

"No," Harrison commanded.

"Just get the names and the bank details. Don’t touch them yet. I don’t want anyone knowing we are looking."

"Got it. I’ll call you when I have something," Daniel said, and the line went dead.

Back in the room, Julius was sitting with his laptop open.

His fingers flew across the keyboard as he accessed a private channel that went straight to Harrison’s tech guy.

He hit the call button, and the tech specialist answered.

"Mr. Vane," the tech guy said.

"Listen to me carefully," Julius said, his voice sharp and commanding.

"I want you to run a deep, live trace on the specific digital token and employee ID that accessed that main server terminal during the warehouse fight. Find out exactly whose token was used."

"That kind of trace takes time, sir," the tech guy explained.

"They used heavy encryption to mask the user ID. It’s a slow process to peel back the data without triggering an automatic wipe."

"I don’t care how long it takes," Julius said, his eyes fixed on the screen.

"Do it safely, but do it now. The second that file clears and you have a solid name, do not call Harrison. Send the final result straight to my personal cell phone. Understood?"

"Understood, Mr. Vane. I’ll send it the second it’s verified," the tech guy said before disconnecting.

Julius closed his laptop slowly.

He looked up just as Harrison walked back into the kitchen, his dark eyes observing him.

"Daniel is on it," Harrison said, leaning against the counter.

"If there’s a money trail, he will find it." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"And my tech order is placed," Julius replied, rubbing his temples.

"Now we just wait."

"No," Harrison said, his voice dropping into a dark tone.

He stepped closer, reaching out to tilt Julius’s chin up so their eyes met.

"Tomorrow, we go to Vane Global Holdings."

Julius blinked.

"You want to go there? You just said we shouldn’t spook them."

"We won’t," Harrison explained, his thumb lightly brushing against Julius’s jawline.

"Tomorrow, you are going to announce a routine financial audit for all upper management. It’s standard business. But I will be walking into that building right beside you."

"As my partner?" Julius asked softly.

"To them yes, but to you, no," Harrison murmured, his eyes darkening.

"As your personal security detail. I will stand in the shadows behind your desk. While you run the audit and talk to your people, I will watch the room. I will read their faces, watch their hands, and catch their scents when you mention the warehouse. A liar always leaves a trace when they are trapped in a tight room."

Julius looked at him, feeling the immense strength and safety that Harrison always provided.

The tight connection between them felt incredibly strong in that moment.

"Alright," Julius said, a cold look settling onto his face.

"Tomorrow, we find the rat."
