Chapter 90: Chapter 89: Into Logan Territory

The heavy tension that had hung over the mansion for the past twenty-four hours finally began to fade by the next morning. After the intense night in the private office, Harrison’s dark mood had softened significantly.

His deep, possessive instincts were fully satisfied for now, and the suffocating pressure of his Enigma aura had turned back into a calm, protective warmth.

Julius sat at the long dining room table, a hot cup of coffee resting between his hands. His body still felt a little sore from the desk, but the agonizing frustration from the day before was completely gone.

He looked much more relaxed, his cheeks having a healthy color again. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Harrison sat at the head of the table, dressed in a fresh charcoal suit. He was tapping his pen against a stack of folder files, waiting for Marcus to finish setting up the tablet at the center of the table.

His patience was slowly running thin.

"The security leak from the gala has been fully sealed, Boss," Marcus said, breaking the silence as he slid a tablet toward Harrison. "We ran a deep background check on the dead waiter’s family and contacts. He was definitely a temporary hire bought out by an outside source.

But the money trail Daniel found is what gives us a solid lead."

Julius leaned forward, taking a small sip of his coffee. "Did Daniel find where the shell company operates?"

Marcus nodded. "Yes. The accounts used to wire that payment are connected to an old entity owned by the Logan pack before their bankruptcy. We did some digging into their surviving assets. It turns out Dean Logan used to own a luxury private club on the north side of the city. The city records say it closed down five years ago, but our field men confirm it still operates secretly under a fake name called The Velvet Lounge."

"The Velvet Lounge," Julius repeated, his brow furrowing, he has heard of that name before but he can’t just place his hand where. "I don’t know if I’m delusional but I think I have heard my father mentioning that place once. He said something like it was where the Logan pack leaders held their private meetings and kept their physical guest logs to avoid any tracking. If Dean Logan is back in the city and looking for my father’s missing drive, he would definitely use that club as his base."

Harrison stopped tapping his pen. His dark eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at the map on the tablet screen.

"The north side is outside our primary territory. If Logan is running operations from that lounge, he will have his own guards stationed inside."

"Then we need to get inside and look at those guest logs," Julius said immediately, setting his coffee cup down. "Daniel can only do so much from a computer, if he enters there, everyone will be sure he belongs to something shady. I mean look at him."

"If we want to know who Logan is meeting with and who is helping him clear his witnesses, we need the physical files from that club. I can go. I know exactly what kind of ledgers my father’s rivals will surely be keeping."

Harrison immediately frowned, his large shoulders tightening under his suit jacket. "No. It is too dangerous. We just lost a witness last night in a public garage. I am not letting you walk into a Logan territory alone. I am sure people will recognize you there, especially the people who want you."

"They will think I’m just out here to party or look for messy information like every business man does, and I won’t be alone," Julius argued, looking directly into Harrison’s stubborn stare. "You have that high-level board meeting with the international investors this afternoon. You cannot miss it without causing a massive dip in the company shares, especially after we left the gala early last night. Let me handle the club while you handle the board. We can save time."

Harrison stayed quiet for a long moment, his eyes searching Julius’s face. His protective nature was screaming at him to keep Julius locked inside the mansion where it was safe, but he also knew Julius was right about the board meeting.

The company couldn’t afford another public distraction.

"You want to do this?" Harrison asked, his voice low and serious.

"Yes," Julius said honestly, his voice steady. "Logan was plotting some shit at that gala, Harrison, we need to find out. He ruined my father, and now he is trying to steal the drive. I am not going to sit here and do nothing while he clears his tracks, He might just be the link in catching Arthur who is on the low."

Harrison let out a breath, turning his gaze toward his assistant who was looking at him for his approval. "Marcus."

"Yes, Boss," Marcus responded instantly.

"Meet up with Daniel, you will take four of our elite guards from the first line," Harrison commanded, his voice dropping into a deadly, unyielding tone. "You will stay glued to Julius’s side from the moment he steps into the car until the moment he returns to this house. If he goes to the lounge, you go with him. If he goes to the restroom, you wait by the door. Do you understand me?"

"Crystal clear, sir," Marcus said, bowing his head respectfully. "Nobody will get within five feet of him."

Harrison turned back to Julius, reaching across the table to wrap his large hand firmly around Julius’s wrist. The grip was tight, a silent reminder of the ownership he had claimed the night before. "You find the logs, and you come straight back. Do not take any unnecessary risks, darling. If anything looks off, you pull out immediately, if anyone talks to you avoid them."

Julius felt a familiar spark of warmth at the possessive tone, a small smile touching his lips as he nodded.

"I understand, Harrison. I will be careful, just trust me on this one."
