Julius did not wait around for another second. Julius spun around and walked as fast as his legs could carry him.

He burst through the doors of the back hallway and came straight into the main lounge area. His eyes scanned the crowded room, desperately searching for a familiar face.

Daniel, who was standing by the main entrance doors, noticed Julius the exact moment he came out of the corridor.

He saw the pale look on Julius’s face, the wide eyes, and the way his chest was heaving. Daniel’s body went totally rigid. He immediately lifted his hand and made a quick signal to the four elite guards scattered around the room.

Circle up, the signal meant.

Julius hurried toward the bar, but before he could reach his stool, Marcus noticed him too. Marcus quickly closed the tablet he was using to do his computer research and stood up from his seat near the pillar.

"Julius," Marcus said, his voice low but urgent as he stepped into his path. "What happened? Did you find the office?"

"We need to leave," Julius whispered, his voice trembling so much he could barely get the words out. "Marcus, we have to go right now."

Daniel arrived at their side a second later, his large frame blocking them from the view of the other customers. The four guards had already formed a tight circle around them, their eyes scanning the crowd for any threats.

"What do you mean we are leaving?" Daniel demanded, looking directly at Julius before throwing a cold, angry glance at Marcus. "Julius is shaking. What went wrong in the back?"

"I met someone," Julius said, trying to look normal as a group of people walked past them. "An Enigma. He knows who I am. He called himself Julian."

Marcus’s eyes widened behind his glasses. He quickly tucked his tablet under his arm. "An Enigma? Inside Logan’s club? That is impossible. My data didn’t show any other Enigma profiles in this area."

"Oh, your data didn’t show it?" Daniel snapped, his tone full of bitter sarcasm as they all began walking quickly toward the exit. "This is exactly what happens when we rely on your little computer files instead of real field intelligence, Marcus. You said this place was low-risk for the afternoon."

"Do not start this with me right now, Daniel," Marcus hissed back, his face turning red with frustration as they pushed through the front glass doors of the lounge.

"You are the assistant, your job is to know every detail before we put the boss’s man in danger!" Daniel said, his voice rising as they reached the dark car waiting at the curb.

"Stop it! Both of you, just stop!" Julius yelled softly, stepping between the two men.

The stress of the encounter was already making his head spin, and their constant bickering was only making it worse. "We are in the middle of the street. Get into the car before anyone sees us."

Daniel and Marcus stared at each other for one more tight second, the tension between them thick enough to slice with a knife. Finally, Daniel let out a rough breath and climbed into the front passenger seat, while Marcus sat in the back next to Julius.

The ride back to the mansion was completely quiet. Marcus kept his eyes glued to his tablet, his fingers flying across the screen as he tried to figure out how he missed Julian’s presence.

Daniel sat up front, his eyes watching the rearview mirrors to make sure no one was following their car.

When the car finally pulled into the long driveway of Harrison’s mansion, Julius didn’t even wait for the guards to open his door. He pushed it open himself and walked straight into the house, needing to feel the safety of Harrison’s space.

Harrison had just returned from his high-level board meeting. He was standing in the main living room, unbuttoning his suit jacket, while a maid was taking his briefcase. The moment he heard the front door slam, he looked up.

His dark eyes instantly locked onto Julius. Harrison’s protective instincts flared up the second he saw how pale and shaken Julius looked.

"Julius," Harrison said, his voice dropping into a deep, serious tone. He dropped his jacket onto a nearby chair and walked straight over to him. "What happened? Marcus called my phone and said you aborted the mission."

Julius didn’t say anything at first. He just walked right into Harrison’s space, letting the big man wrap his large, powerful arms around his waist. Julius buried his face against Harrison’s white shirt, breathing in the familiar, warm scent that always made him feel grounded.

"He was there, Harrison," Julius whispered, his voice muffled against the shirt. "The person from the gala corridor. The one I smelled."

Harrison’s entire body went rigid. His arms tightened around Julius, locking him so close to his chest that Julius could feel the steady, hard beat of his heart. "Tell me exactly what happened, darling."

Marcus and Daniel walked into the living room a moment later, stopping a few feet away. Both men looked uncomfortable, knowing the boss was about to be furious.

Julius pulled back just enough to look up into Harrison’s face. "I went down the back hallway to look for the administration office. A man approached me. He was wearing a dark suit, and the moment he looked at me, I felt that exact same pressure. It was him. He introduced himself as Julian."

"Julian," Harrison repeated, his jaw tightening so hard the muscles jumped under his skin. "Did he touch you?"

"No," Julius said, shaking his head quickly. "He just talked to me. He knew my name, Harrison. I didn’t tell him who I was, but he knew. He said the city is becoming a dangerous place for me, and that people are looking for things that don’t belong to them. He was talking about my father’s missing drive."

Harrison’s face turned completely cold. A dark, terrifying aura began to seep from his body, filling the room with a deadly promise. He looked past Julius’s shoulder, his eyes snapping directly toward Daniel and Marcus.

"How did an Enigma get close enough to talk to him inside a public lounge?" Harrison asked, his voice low and incredibly quiet, which was always a sign that his temper was at its absolute limit.

Daniel stepped forward first, bowing his head. "Boss, he came out of a private side exit before my men could establish a perimeter in the back hallway. Marcus assured us the back area was clear based on the building files."

"The files were accurate, Daniel!" Marcus argued immediately, stepping up beside the security head. "The side stairs are marked as emergency only. The club management must have granted him private access without putting it on the digital schedules."

"Enough," Harrison cut them off. The single word was enough to make both men freeze and stop talking completely.

Harrison looked back down at Julius, his expression softening just a fraction as he lifted a large hand to gently cup Julius’s face.

His thumb rubbed against Julius’s cheek, checking for any injuries. "You did the right thing by coming back immediately, Julius. If he knows your name, he is already tracking us."

But beneath his calm words, a rare wave of pure shock hit Harrison’s mind.

For his entire life, Harrison had lived with the absolute certainty that he was the only Enigma left in this entire city—and perhaps one of the very last surviving ones in the entire world.

Their kind was incredibly rare, a myth from old history that had almost completely died out. He had never encountered another person who possessed the same crushing, dominant aura that he did.

The fact that another Enigma was not only alive, but actively hiding in the shadows of the city and showing himself now, changed everything. Why had this Julian waited until this exact moment to step forward? Why was he connecting himself to the broken Logan pack?
