Alpha Rejected His True Luna
Chapter 69: I Won’t Always Be So Generous

’Alpha Kane was jealous?’ Nova was amused.
It was embarrassing enough that the voicemail meant for Sophia had gotten to Alpha, and now he wanted to prove he was right.
Alpha’s warmth was unbearable, and no matter how hard I tried not to react to his kiss and closeness, my body instinctively responded. I believed his touch would bring me only pleasure.
The kiss we shared in that garden was fresh in my memory, and it would be a lie to say I didn’t want to experience it again.
And Alpha Kane did, mixing the warmth of his lips with the touch of brandy, creating an entirely different cocktail one that belonged only to asshole Alpha.
The sensations of that kiss surpassed anything I’d ever experienced.
Like the sunny kiss Alpha’d given me before those flowers, this one was even more exquisite and profound. His full lips covered mine completely, gliding over them as gently as if they were silk. Alpha Kane knew when to press and when to rub, yet he remained delicate, pouring drop after drop of brandy into my mouth.
Alpha’s hands explored my curves, holding me bound between his legs as if I were his lost lover. Then he flipped me over and pinned me to the table, taking my breath away.
If Alpha decided to throw me on the table and climb on top, I didn’t know how much resistance my body would offer or if it would simply crumble beneath him like a sandcastle.
Alpha hands slowly rose and rested on my face.
Alpha Kane knew exactly how to kiss and drive a woman wild.
His actions made my heart pound like a mare’s, and my knees almost buckled. Wetness began to pool between my legs. It was getting worse; my body was heating up, and Alpha was arousing me. If we continued, I wasn’t sure I could stop him, because it seemed he didn’t want me to.
I would be sprawled across his desk, and before we knew it, the line would be crossed, making this kiss even more awkward than it already was.
I had to stop him.
I slowly pushed him away, bracing my hands against his chest, and fortunately, Alpha Kane stopped immediately.
My legs felt like jelly, and my hands were shaking.
Our lips finally parted, and his warmth left me, and a chilling loneliness pierced my heart. The feeling was so terrible that I wanted him to press his lips to mine again.
He was still holding my face. I slowly raised my eyes to look at him, to see what he was feeling.
His eyes were filled with insatiable desire, and they were also filled with disappointment.
Was he as excited as I was?
He blinked curiously, his eyes widening in anticipation of a response, and I nearly burned him.
In truth, his kiss had touched me. He knew how to devour me with his touch, and now Alpha was about to turn it into an undeclared competition.
I’ll have it my way, and asshole Alpha’s mood will be ruined.
"He’s better," I said, unable to suppress a grin. I imagined Alpha’s face instantly freezing and letting go of mine, but he didn’t.
On the contrary, Alpha seemed quite relaxed, as if he’d enjoyed my answer, and the fine lines around his eyes slowly smoothed out.
"You know how to lie, Blue Rose. With a face like a fluffy flower, you certainly know how to sting like a bee."
His warmth still burned me, his gaze locked on mine.
"That’s just the way a woman is. You can’t be too careful with people’s intentions," I said slowly, my heart still racing, and my eyes threatening to betray me they longed to see his full lips.
How skillfully he kissed, and now I could imagine what kind of lover he must be.
His hands finally dropped from my face, plunging me into a cold sea of loneliness.
I could only stare at him, taking in his steel-sharp features as he concentrated on adjusting his hairpiece.
His scent was a soothing liquor, soothingly caressing my heart.
He handed me work tablet. Taking the phone, he deliberately showed me the voice memo before deleting it.
"Promise kept. I hope next time you get involved with someone who doesn’t leave you so desirable that you have to find your Alpha boss. I won’t always be so generous."
Really? As if I were the one begging him for a kiss. His charms, which he so openly flaunted, amazed me, but I had no intention of feeding his Himalayan ego.
"Don’t worry, I won’t always be interested. As I’ve said before and I’ll say it again for the tenth time. This is not for YOU."
He deliberately ran a hand through his lush hair, his expression only slightly stern.
"I disagree, but let’s continue today’s work. Bring me the digital files from Project Halos and some new coffee; this one’s cold." Alpha waved me off as if it were Nothing happened, and he walked past with the visible arrogance that always clung to me. I gave him a wide berth.
Turning around, I picked up my cold coffee mug and was about to leave when I suddenly remembered why I’d even come into his office before he’d distracted me.
"Sir! Actually, I wanted to ask you something." Taking a deep breath and hoping my face wasn’t as terrible as I thought, I turned to him.
Alpha Kane settled into his seat, pen in hand and an open notebook in front of him.
He merely raised his pitch-black eyes and stared at me dumbly.
Who would have thought this man had been eating my mouth five minutes ago?
"I need time off next week to visit my family."
He raised his eyebrows, but his expression remained thoughtful as he considered my words, and I, like a fool, waited. "No," he finally asked.
"Hell. What?" I shocked.
"Okay, now you can go." Without another word, he returned to his work.
