Alpha Rejected His True Luna
Chapter 73: Live With Alpha?
Zara
NO WAY, NO.
’As far as I knew, Alpha Kane had a string of mistresses he invited to his Pack house for the weekend, and I was completely uneasy seeing or hearing his wild encounters with them.’ Share my thoughts with Nova.
’Deep down, we were also jealous and wary. Alpha Kane certainly knew we had a mate. He could have been deliberately teasing us by bringing a mate with him.’ Nova suggested.
"Are you afraid of that? Or are you just jealous?" Alpha Kane tilted his head to the side, and his deep, writhing eyes stared at me mockingly.
I immediately became defensive and narrowed my eyes.
"Why would I be jealous?"
Alpha Kane snorted teasingly, his lips pouting.
Seductive, why were his lips so seductive?
"What if I promise I won’t bring any women home while you live with me?"
Alpha Kane extended his large, callous hand, promising something, but I wasn’t finished and asked.
"What about my privacy? What if I need to go out somewhere? I know you’ll take me hostage."
Alpha Kane shook his head, his lips pursing slightly.
"I won’t violate your privacy, and Olfie or Caysir will drive you wherever you want in my car." I knew why Alpha Kane insisted on his car. Mine only had bulletproof glass, while his entire car was bulletproof. He thought everything through and planned ahead, far too seriously.
I knew this would make my meeting with my friends practically impossible, but I had my doubts about him. Although my heart didn’t agree with Alpha’s involvement, my mind demanded that I be cautious and trust Alpha Kane. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Arguing with him was pointless, because Alpha Kane loved to win and impose his decisions, it was part of his nature.
Dominating and domineering, sometimes even controlling.
"What about your family, who’s coming to visit?" I asked.
"To them, you’re my mate. It’ll be natural for you to live with me. Besides, I can handle my own family," Alpha Kane replied calmly, trying to calm all my fears. His hand now rested at my leg, but didn’t touch it.
"What about my family?"
"Your family will be able to meet you at the Pack House when you are there. Or you can go to meet your family. But you can’t go to the pool or the Haze without my permission."
You see, the asshole Alpha had an answer to every one of my questions. While I was asking them, he looked as calm as a boa constrictor, ready for more.
Alpha Kane dropped the next words just as casually.
"And if you need help relaxing, we can always practice kissing," Alpha Kane offered shamelessly, causing my earlobes to burn and blush. I looked away from his challenging gaze and muttered sheepishly,
"Dream on, but no."
Alpha Kane clicked his tongue.
"Too bad, it seems I’m a bad kisser." But that was far from the case. Alpha’s kisses melted the soul. For such a cold man, who didn’t believe in love, he certainly knew how to drive a woman crazy with just his lips.
Alpha Kane leaned toward me, so close. His gaze slid to my lips, as if wanting to taste them, and I caught the hint of whiskey that was confusing my thoughts.
Lifting a strand of my hair, Alpha Kane gently tucked it behind my ear. His rough fingertips brushed against my soft skin, sending shivers down my spine.
I watched the sharp contours of Alpha’s face. With every glance, my heartbeat quickened until it became the only sound in my ears.
"We need to move, Zara. As I said, you’re my responsibility, and I must keep you safe. Go willingly, or I’ll have to take you away." Alpha’s voice had never sounded so rich, so velvety, so demanding. I should have said no and pushed him away, but, lost in thought and staring into the bottomless pit of his eyes, I found myself nodding.
Alpha Kane grinned triumphantly and patted my head, as if I’d just solved a simple arithmetic problem like "two plus two equals four."
"Sometimes you’re such a good girl. Get ready now so we can go there." With that, Alpha Kane leaned back, and I had no choice but to get up and go to my room.
My heart was still pounding, like I’d been running a damn marathon.
’Why did this man have such an effect on us?’ Nova dreamily asked.
I pulled out two suitcases and threw in clothes, makeup, toiletries, shoes, books, and a spare towel. I’d take the essentials, and I could always get the rest later.
The packed luggage I’d brought with me would remain as is.
A few hours later, I was ready to head to my Alpha’s Pack House.
Who would have thought that when I left the bed this morning, I’d have to relieve Mr. Iceberg?
Well then. Life has been throwing me nothing but curveballs lately.
"Ready?" Alpha Kane asked, seeing that I was already packed, and I nodded sadly.
"You’ll like it here," Alpha Kane assured.
Olfi and Caysir picked up my things, and soon we returned to his car and headed out.
We were heading to his Pack House.
I’d never seen an entire pack house except Alpha’s office and training place before, and wondered what kind of pack house Alpha lived in.
’Was it a completely black castle with an icy prison for those who defied him?’ Nova rolled her eyes.
’If Alpha Kane were born in the Middle Ages, I was sure he would be a king, possessing a dungeon where he could throw all his enemies or anyone who dared question him.’ I rolled my eyes, too.
’A thought of him, wearing a crown and ridiculously heavy robes adorned with jewels, sitting on a throne, flashed through my mind.’ I barely contained my laughter.
’Alpha Kane, the Ice wolf.’ Nova amused.
’Alpha Kane Sterling, the first of his name, Lord of the Eternal Frost, Lord of Glaciers, the one with ice flowing in his veins.’ I amused, too.
We giggled at all these ridiculous names.
