Seeing me pondering, Alpha Kane picked up his glass of wine. Without taking his intense yet teasing gaze from me, he spoke again.

"Are you afraid of losing? Or are you afraid you won’t be able to resist me?"

I clicked my tongue, realizing Alpha Kane was trying to provoke me.

"Alpha, you think too highly of yourself. I’m not the kind of girl who’ll fall at your feet just because we kissed twice." How can I shut my big mouth? It’s Alpha’s fault.

Alpha set the wine glass down, leaned toward me, and whispered.

"Then we’ll make a bet."

His hungry gaze slid across my lips, teasing, enticing...

"Fine, but if I win, you’ll greet me properly with a smile for the next week and try something new with me instead of your bland cocktails," I said, finishing the rest of my creamy treat and putting down my spoon.

"Deal." Alpha Kane rested his palms on the table and straightened up, pushing back his chair.

I also rose from my chair, and Alpha Kane straightened his right arm and spoke. His eyes drooped slightly. "After you." I wanted to roll my eyes at him; he carried himself so nobly, like a knight straight out of a Queen Frieza book.

We climbed the stairs together; when we reached the top, Alpha Kane pointed to a black door on the left and, leaning on the railing and clutching it with his hands, said faintly, "I’ll be waiting."

Insolent, if only I could roll my eyes again.

"See you soon." I opened the door to my room and walked in. Grabbing the cookie jar from the coffee table I’d set down earlier, I quickly knocked on his door, leaving the room with a pounding heart.

Judging by the color and his taste, the room I’d imagined was supposed to be completely black. The door was ebony, so it only made sense if the room was done in the same style.

Instead of permitting me, the door creaked, and Alpha Kane appeared in the doorway. His tall figure seemed to fill the entire room.

Alpha Kane leaned casually against the doorframe, resting one hand on the edge, his broad shoulders relaxed yet imposing. Alpha had changed into a black tank top that clung to his torso, seductively hugging him. A slight, alluring smile played on his rounded lips, and his piercing blue eyes gazed intently at me.

My traitorous heart skipped a beat at the sight of this siren-like wolf.

’Did he know he had this effect on us?’ Nova amused.

’Of course he did.’ I replied.

"Come in," Alpha Kane said in a soft, low voice, filled with a warmth that seemed to fill the space between us.

Slightly stepping aside, Alpha Kane let me in with smooth, measured movements. His gaze didn’t waver, fixing me with a piercing intensity that was both disarming and reassuring as I entered his room.

Clutching a large cookie jar to my chest, I entered Alpha Kane’s room.

’If he had upset us, what we saw in his room completely angered us.’ Nova rolled her eyes.

The room was completely different from what I had imagined. Instead of black, gray, and navy blue, I was greeted by silvery pearls, light blues, and baby blues.

The artful combination of modern sophistication and natural motifs created a sense of calm and refinement.

The walls were painted a soft silvery white, creating a luminous and tranquil backdrop. I watched with my mouth open, and Alpha Kane looked at me with an arrogant smirk.

Blue accents were artfully incorporated into the paint, creating graceful, intricate patterns of silvery blue that appeared hand-painted.

Their subtle shimmer caught the light and gave the space depth and artistry. The effect was mesmerizing, as if the walls themselves were coming alive with silent movement.

Tearing away your gaze, moving away from the walls, I saw a luxurious, pearl-white sectional sofa.

The clean lines, soft fabric, and fluffy pillows felt cozy and relaxing.

In front of it stood an elegant glass-topped coffee table, its silver metal frame echoing the cool tones of the walls. A small, stylish vase holding several fresh blue roses rested on the table, adding a touch of greenery and complementing the natural theme of the painted landscape.

On one side, against the wall, stood an elegant light ash desk, its surface resting on a slim laptop and a carefully curated collection of books. A silver-blue upholstered chair matched the intricate pattern of the wall.

A floor lamp with a polished metal finish gracefully rose above the desk, providing ambient light for working or reading. This space seemed to be his cozy reading nook.

Then I turned my head and saw Alpha’s monstrously oversized bed. An army could sleep on this modern waterbed, an elegant design combining a low profile of matte blue metal with a silver upholstered platform on which rested a mattress filled with water.

The floating headboard, softly padded and with integrated LED lighting, added a futuristic touch, complemented by the crisp white bedding with navy blue accents. I was certain the waterbed was the perfect blend of modern design and cutting-edge comfort.

I turned to Alpha Kane and shot him an irritated look: this was not what I was hoping to see in his room.

Alpha Kane frowned, crossed his arms behind his back, and asked haughtily,

"Disappointed?"

I decided to ignore him and focused on examining his magnificent room, which seemed to belong to a man with a charming personality.

On another wall, a low, matte silver media console held a large, uncluttered flat-screen television. Above it, an abstract artwork in shades of blue, turquoise, and silver served as a focal point without overwhelming the space.

The flowing lines of the artwork seemed to complement the murals, creating a sense of continuity.

The ceiling skylight was the room’s crown jewel, designed to flood the space with natural light during the day and offer a majestic view of the sky at night.

Alpha Kane flicked the switch, and the light played off the silvery-blue patterns on the walls, creating a dynamic interplay of shadows and reflections that changed over time.

Recessed lighting around the ceiling created a soft, diffused glow, enhancing the room’s warm ambiance.

The floor was light, polished parquet, its smooth surface adding an airy feel to the room. A large textured rug in shades of matte blue and sea green with a geometric pattern completed the sitting area.

Every element in the room was carefully chosen to create a harmonious, calming atmosphere. The interplay of silvery white, light blue, and silvery blue tones made his room the perfect blend of modern elegance and tranquil solitude.

"So you’re wondering why it isn’t black, like the door, and how you were tricked?" Alpha Kane came closer and exhaled right behind my ear.

Turning sharply, I nodded grimly at him.

Alpha Kane smiled triumphantly and began to explain.
