Alpha Rejected His True Luna
Chapter 96: All Good Things Come In Good Time
Zara
Unfortunately, it seems I’ve gotten myself into too much trouble." I smiled sheepishly, casting an apologetic glance at Alpha Kane.
"No," Alpha Zeke chuckled. "I’ve seen him fight; he’s not that good."
"Not that good," Nova chuckled. "Easy for an Alpha to say that."
"That’s... comforting. But I am going to withdraw my challenge." I nodded, not entirely confident in my abilities.
"See, you’re doing well!" Nova encouraged, and I rolled my eyes.
"I won’t do it if you’re rooting for me every time," I snorted.
"Okay, grumpy." Nova shrugged. "But just know that I’m rooting for you."
Alpha Kane allowed me to visit my father, on the condition, of course, that he come.
Alpha Kane stood silently in my father’s living room, watching me tell them about Ryan. My father’s face twisted into a grimace. Ryan was missing from two days.
Marcus could be lying. Dad chuckled. "Ryan’s smart. I can’t imagine Marcus catching him."
"He could." I nodded. "But we can’t just ignore it."
"And what do they do about it?" Dad grumbled, his gaze landing on Alpha Kane. I looked at Alpha, wondering the same thing. What would they do with Ryan? If they took him, we had no idea where he might be.
"I’m gathering as much information about Marcus as I can." Alpha Kane’s gaze burned into my eyes as he spoke. "They’ve been planning this for quite some time; the werewolves simply ignored it. They have networks in some major cities, but the closest one is in Atlanta, Georgia. If they took him, he’ll be there."
I didn’t understand why Alpha Kane was trusting us with this. Now that I was starting to think before I acted, running to Atlanta alone was an incredibly bad idea.
"You’re sending people?" Dad frowned.
Alpha Kane’s eyes burned into mine, something flickering deep within them. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"Once we narrow down the potential locations, I’ll send wolves." Alpha Kane nodded. "If they took him, we’ll get him back."
* * * *
Alpha Kane’s words caught me off guard for a moment. I didn’t expect him to send people to rescue my brother. Ryan was just one member of the largest Sterling Empire in the United States, but he was important to me.
It was dinnertime when we finally returned to the pack house. Dad insisted on sending a couple of containers of her chocolate-lavender brownies, claiming everyone would love them. He was right, but seven containers were too much.
After filling the fridge with his brownies, I followed Alpha Kane upstairs. Staying close to him turned out to be much easier than I thought. His presence calmed me and helped me feel less nervous.
Nova didn’t mind his presence either, having immediately become attached to him. Alpha Kane was quieter. He barely spoke about what was going on, but he constantly made snide remarks about me.
I remained silent the entire time, pondering his words about Atlanta.
"Thank you... for that." I winced at how awkward my voice sounded.
Alpha Kane turned around, just about to open his bedroom door.
"What was that, Zara?" Alpha Kane smirked, his eyes meeting mine.
"I said thank you," I snorted, crossing my arms. "For sending wolves to find my brother."
"I told you, there are other ways to thank me," Alpha Kane smirked, stepping closer to me. I stepped back, stopping when my back hit the wall.
Alpha Kane’s eyes darkened as he examined mine. He raised his hand and cupped my cheek. He ran his thumb over my jaw, rubbing my lower lip.
"Will you be a good girl?" Alpha Kane smirked, running his thumb over my lower lip. "Or will you fight me?"
The mess I’d gotten myself into today made me feel guilty, as expected. I decided to give in this time. My body was already responding to his light touch. My legs tensed involuntarily.
I let my lips part, and Alpha Kane’s grin widened. His thumb slid across my teeth, then down to my chin.
Someone in the hallway coughed with laughter, tearing my gaze away from Alpha Kane. Beta stood a good ten feet away, his lips pursed and his eyes struggling to maintain a serious expression.
"Sorry, Alpha." Beta nodded, his gaze flicking between Alpha and me. "Guests want to know if you and Zara are coming down for dinner."
"Tell them something’s up." Alpha Kane smirked. "Have someone bring it to my room."
My heart sank, and my eyes widened. A smirk appeared on Beta’s face, his gaze darting to mine.
"Of course, Alpha." Beta nodded, turning into the hallway.
Before I could say anything, Alpha Kane flung open the door to his room. He spun me around in his arms and led me into the bedroom. Something moved between my legs as he locked the door.
"Where were we?" Alpha Kane smirked.
I didn’t like taking orders. I’m sure Alpha Kane saw how much I wanted to resist, but I wanted all of him.
"Take off your clothes," Alpha Kane demanded calmly. His smirk was still there, his gaze roaming over every inch of my naked skin.
"Such a good girl, Zara," Alpha Kane murmured, lifting me to my feet and pulling me against his chest.
His words made my heart pound wildly. It was another intimate gesture I hadn’t expected. Alpha Kane’s arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me close to his body.
Alpha Kane lifted me, wrapping my legs around his waist. My heart continued to pound as I hit my back on the bed. Alpha Kane’s face buried itself in my neck, his lips and tongue greedily slid across my skin.
"So wet for me," he murmured gratefully. "How can I resist this?"
"Don’t resist," I whimpered, breathless. I wanted him all; I was tired of waiting. Every touch, every orgasm was torture until I got what I wanted.
"Not yet, little Zara," Alpha Kane murmured, his dark eyes never leaving mine. "All good things come in good time."
That was the end of our conversation, his tongue sliding over my bare breast.
