Alpha's Regret: Claiming My Stolen Twins
Chapter 65 Betrayal Bond
Seraphina’s POV
Consciousness returned like a hammer striking an anvil inside my skull. The pain wasn’t ordinary - it felt like something foreign was trying to claw its way through my brain, creating a symphony of agony that made me want to retreat back into darkness.
I squeezed my eyes tighter, hoping to block out the torment, but that only amplified the chaos. This wasn’t just physical pain. Something else was happening, something that made my stomach twist with dread.
Then the invasion began. Emotions that didn’t belong to me crashed through my mind like a violent tide. Memories, feelings, thoughts that were completely alien yet somehow familiar flooded my consciousness.
My eyes flew open, and I stared at the ceiling through the haze of confusion. The room tilted and swayed as if I were on a ship in a storm. What was happening to me? It felt like someone else’s soul was trying to merge with mine, and I couldn’t stop it.
"Julian."
His name escaped my lips in a desperate whisper. He was there in the chair beside my bed, his frame tense and alert. Dark circles shadowed his eyes, but his entire body was coiled like a spring, as if he was bracing for an explosion.
I dug my palms into my temples, desperately trying to silence the foreign noise echoing through my mind. I needed to find myself again, to locate the boundaries of my own thoughts.
"Stop this," I gasped. "Whatever you’ve done, undo it now."
He remained motionless, his dark eyes fixed on me with an intensity that made my skin crawl. His jaw was set, his expression unreadable.
I dropped my hands slowly as the truth began to crystallize. These weren’t random sensations or some kind of illness. The foreign emotions had a pattern, a depth that spoke of connection, of binding.
The bond. It was activating.
My hand shot to my throat, fingers searching frantically. When I found the spot just below my collarbone, I felt it - a tender, burning sensation that pulsed in perfect rhythm with the chaos in my head.
The mark. He had marked me.
All the air left my lungs in a rush, leaving me gasping. The alien thoughts, the overwhelming emotions, the invasion of my mind - it all made terrifying sense now.
I was bound to him again. While I lay helpless and unconscious, he had claimed me without permission, without choice.
My vision blurred, not from exhaustion but from the crushing weight of what this meant. I stared at him through tears I couldn’t contain, feeling my world crumble around me.
"How could you?" The words came out broken, thick with the pain of his betrayal.
He leaned forward slightly. "Seraphina, if you’ll just listen-" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"Don’t!" I struggled to push myself upright, but the movement sent fresh waves of agony through my skull. "How could you mark me without asking? How could you do this while I was defenseless?"
The magnitude of what he’d stolen from me crashed over me like a tsunami. Six years. Six precious years I’d spent rebuilding myself from the ruins he’d left behind. Six years of independence, of making my own choices, of believing I was finally free from his control.
I’d only returned because I had no other option, but I’d walked straight into my own destruction. This wasn’t the salvation I’d hoped for - this was a prison with invisible bars.
Tears streamed down my cheeks unchecked. I looked at the man I’d once loved with every fiber of my being, the man who claimed to love me but had just proven that his version of love was nothing more than possession.
I waited. I waited for him to explain, to apologize, to give me any reason that wasn’t rooted in selfish ownership. Surely he would offer something, anything to justify this violation.
His gaze met mine, but his expression remained cold and impenetrable. Not a word of explanation. Not even an attempt at justification.
The final thread of hope I’d been clutching snapped.
Terror flooded through me as the full implications hit. The physical tracking was nothing compared to what was coming. Soon he’d have access to my thoughts, my fears, every memory I’d carefully protected from him. And worse - he’d discover the secret I’d die before revealing.
I couldn’t let that happen.
Drawing on every ounce of willpower I possessed, I began constructing barriers in my mind. I imagined fortress walls, steel doors, anything that might keep him out. The effort was excruciating - I’d never attempted anything like this before.
He shifted, his frown deepening as he felt me pulling away from the connection.
"Leave," I said, my voice devoid of any warmth.
He didn’t budge, and his continued presence felt like salt in an open wound.
"I told you to leave." I pressed myself back against the headboard, my body trembling with pain and fury. The sight of him standing there, completely unrepentant after destroying my future, was more than I could bear.
Something inside me shattered completely.
"Get out!" The scream tore from my throat with savage intensity. "Get out now! I despise you! Just go away!"
The raw force of my anguish, the unfiltered spike of my agony, finally broke through his composure. He jerked back as if I’d struck him, his jaw clenching tight. Without speaking, he spun around and strode from the room, closing the door with deliberate quiet.
The moment I heard the lock click, my legs gave out. I collapsed to the floor, pulling my knees against my chest as sobs wracked my body.
Why had he done this to me?
The question carved through my heart like a blade. Everything I’d fought to build was gone now.
There was no escape from a mating mark. Distance would only create unbearable pain that would force me back to his side. He’d ensured I could never break free again.
And the ultimate horror? Eventually, the bond would demand reciprocation. Eventually, I’d be compelled to mark him in return, sealing our fate permanently.
I was trapped once more. Back in the prison he’d created for me. I couldn’t survive this again, especially not with my son’s existence hanging in the balance. I knew I was being selfish keeping them apart, but my child was all I had left. If Julian discovered the truth, it would give him the ultimate weapon against me.
