Li Wei thought about it. It seemed that was true. "Where is she planning to go to school?"

Lily got up, grabbed her phone, and took a selfie with Li Wei. Then, she happily went off to post it on TikTok.

"It’s right on our doorstep," Don Quixote said. "Leman Manhattan Preparatory School. It’s a five-minute walk from our building."

"How’s the school?" As someone from the Celestial Dynasty, Li Wei was very concerned about his sister’s education. "Can you handle it? Do you need me to make an appearance?"

"It’s all thanks to you," Don Quixote said solemnly. "I’ve looked into this school before. The tuition is 72,000 USD a year, the students’ movements are completely physically isolated from the street, and the security team is entirely made up of retired FBI or New York Police Department agents. It has an indoor swimming pool, a theater, and other facilities. I feel very confident sending Lily there."

"That’s good," Li Wei said, swallowing the last of his bread. "Just let me know if you need anything."

As his influence began to spread, the lives of those around him also started to take a turn for the better.

"By the way," Don Quixote said, his expression a little odd, "it seems that psychologist you found is pretty good. It’s started working over the last few days."

"Huh?" Li Wei faltered. "It’s working?"

’Don Quixote’s... unmentionable problem... is treatable?’

’The Knight’s Aura has this effect too?’

He glanced at the skill description about restoring Magic Power. ’Could that ’thing’ be what it means by Magic Power?’

"Yeah," Don Quixote said, glancing at Lily, who was lying on the sofa scrolling through her phone. "It seems to have started having some effect recently."

"Good to hear," Li Wei said, grabbing a napkin. "I have to head to training soon. Any progress on that other matter?"

"It’s in progress," Don Quixote said, also getting up. "I’ve already registered an entity called the ’Extreme Sports Rehabilitation Science Center’ under your company. It’s currently going through tax filings, credential approvals, address registration, and compliance reviews."

He stretched and began clearing the table. "You want privacy, after all. The Giants have a training center, but you don’t use it. If the wrong people find out you’re insisting on setting up your own ’rehab center,’ it’ll cause unnecessary talk. That’s why it’s still tied up in red tape. I estimate we can start scouting locations in August."

"I thought it would be done quickly," Li Wei said, a little disappointed. "I didn’t think it would take this long."

"What do you think this is, a Batman or Iron Man comic? A wave of the hand, a few weeks pass, and the problem is solved?" Don Quixote scoffed. "You probably won’t be able to use your secret gym and shooting range until the end of the year."

Li Wei nodded and said nothing more.

「Two weeks later, mid-July.」

「East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Giants’ primary training facility, adjacent to MetLife Stadium.」

As the first player of Asian descent in history to bypass the NCAA and jump straight to the NFL, the area outside the facility’s security line had long been swarmed by media with their cameras and crazed fans holding up jerseys.

Li Wei drove his 911 into the players’ exclusive underground parking garage, not stopping or getting out along the way.

After walking down the hallway, Li Wei pushed open the door to the head coach’s office.

Head Coach Dabor, whom he hadn’t seen in over two months, was standing in front of a massive tactical whiteboard. He turned at the sound of the door, looking Li Wei up and down with a satisfied expression.

"Not bad," he said, walking over and patting Li Wei’s solid shoulder. "You know, a lot of rookies entering the NCAA pack on at least twenty pounds the month after they graduate high school. But you seem to have kept yourself in good shape."

"Of course," Li Wei said. "I’m very strict about my daily training and conditioning."

In reality, he had eaten a huge bag of chips while watching a movie with Lily just last night.

Head Coach Dabor gave a noncommittal nod and handed him a schedule. "Go get changed in the locker room. A lot of the veterans have seen the tapes from your performance at rookie camp. I’m not too worried about locker room bullying, but be careful. The defensive unit will probably try to give you a hard time over the next few days."

"Again?" Li Wei accepted the schedule, feeling a headache coming on. "High school, rookie camp, and now the official training camp... Why do I have to go through the same locker room hazing routine every time I go somewhere new? Am I stuck in some kind of loop?"

"It’s the rookie’s rite of passage," Dabor said with a hearty laugh. "But I’m sure you can handle it."

"Can I push back a little?" Li Wei asked after a moment of thought. "You know, start a little conflict or something?"

"No, no, no," Dabor said, waving his hands. "You’re on the pro roster now. Fighting in the locker room is prohibited. They’ll actually try to provoke you into throwing a punch to get you kicked off the team."

"Frankly, the Giants’ salary cap is only so big. In order to sign you and still reinforce the offensive line, the front office had to spend a fortune," he said bluntly. "There are a few veterans on the defensive side who didn’t get the contracts they wanted or were forced to restructure their salaries. I’d bet they’re all holding a grudge."

"So they’re going to take it out on me?" Li Wei raised an eyebrow. "Because I got the biggest paycheck, and that money ate into their cap space."

"Exactly," Dabor shrugged. "That’s the harsh reality of pro sports. The more you get paid, the more you have to answer for. They don’t dare go after the front office, but taking out their frustrations on a rookie Quarterback who just turned eighteen and has never played a regular season game? That’s the most direct route."
