An Eternity With You
Chapter 307: Preparations (1)
"When was it returned?" Vincent asked as he inspected Graham’s body.
"A couple of days ago. I would have never bet they would send him back dead or alive. This is a warning message because you went to their home and got away. It should serve as a warning to anyone here foolish enough to plot with vampires. This is what he deserved for betraying our parents. We should not bury his body with the others. He is a traitor," said Victor.
"I would never allow him to be buried here. His body will be tossed out for the animals on the outside to feed on. Have the men scouted the area to make sure no vampires are lingering around us?" Vincent asked.
Victor nodded his head. He was already ahead of that matter with Derek’s help. "We’ve inspected the lands up to the dark forest and there has not been any sight of vampires roaming around. I’ve started to set up more lookouts outside the gates so we can stop vampires from coming close to the community. Especially now when the new gates are going up and the workers are exposed. When would you like his body tossed out."
"Right now." Vincent did not enjoy seeing his uncle whether he was dead or alive. Graham’s death did not seem like it was enough but Vincent did not want to hold onto the past and any anger he felt when he was trying to move forward and have a new life with Aurora.
At least they had confirmation that Graham was dead. It would have been a pain in the ass if Graham had weaseled his way out of the vampire’s grasp and come back home to start up more trouble or run to another pack Vincent was not on good terms with.
"You did good," Vincent patted Victor’s head.
Victor enjoyed the acknowledgment from his brother but he did not want to let it show. "I am not a puppy for you to be petting my head and don’t bring up the whole werewolf slash dog thing. I left all the papers concerning the process on the walls of your desk and everything else I have to deal with. It’s been a long since I had some alone time with Cherry so don’t even think of speaking to me until morning. It’s good to have you back but I am out of here."
Vincent wasn’t surprised Victor was already leaving. He was slightly annoyed that Victor did not wait until morning to bring up Graham’s body. Now Aurora would be heading to bed not interested in what she promised while Victor would be going to enjoy a night with Cherry. Vincent couldn’t help feeling petty. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"Not so fast. There is much we need to do," Vincent said, enjoying the look of horror on Victor’s face.
Victor felt like his jaw had dropped to the ground. What could they possibly have to do now so late into the night? Wasn’t their lives peaceful now until someone wanted to plot on Vincent again? If it was something he learned on his journey, couldn’t it wait until morning?
"What do we have to do now, Vincent? Aren’t you eager to go home and spend time with Aurora?" Victor asked.
"Unfortunately, you ruined a little deal I had going with her so it is only fair you suffer with me. Let us catch up with each other," Vincent grabbed Victor’s collar to drag him against his will to talk somewhere.
"Vincent! Release me. Why on earth do we have to catch up with each other when you weren’t gone that long? Why on earth didn’t you stay where the hell you went? Release me! You’re not supposed to abuse your strength like this!" Victor yelled as Vincent dragged him out of the cells.
"Can you two please shut the hell up?" A woman with her head down in one of the cells asked.
Vincent stopped to look at the once proud woman who was now filthy. "How has time here been treating you? Are you spending your time thinking over your actions? I won’t let you out until I see a positive change in you, Cecilia."
Cecilia growled, slowly lifting her head to look at the man who trapped her here. Life was hell for her in this place and no one cared to place her ex-husband’s body elsewhere. If only Vincent could step a bit closer for her to claw out his throat. Then she would do the same to Victor and the woman Vincent was sleeping with.
"With that attitude, it will take you quite a few years to get out of here. I have to give you credit for not killing yourself and waiting out your punishment. I had expected you to only last an hour before trying to kill yourself. Do you find it hard to pull out your heart? Should I hand you a knife?" Vincent taunted her.
If she had not taken part in trying to kill him or kept silent about what she knew about the vampires, he would have had the guards treat her better but Cecila deserved this. She was lucky he had not ordered for her to be killed and after a couple of years, she could join the community again but not with the life she once had before. Her rank amongst other werewolves would drop.
Cecilia spat at Vincent but it did not reach him as it landed on her leg. "You will get what is coming to you for doing this to me and killing Graham. I am going to stay alive to see the day someone puts an end to the ego you have. Just wait."
Vincent scoffed, "There is no one on your side at the moment to take revenge for what is happening now. You’re going to be in here for a long time. Perhaps until you lose your sanity and can’t even remember why you are here. Change of plans, Victor. It would be rude for us to separate the wife from her husband. Put Graham’s body in her cell."
