Chapter 548: The Kitsune’s Roar

Clara stared into her mirror, admiring her new dress, which Ethan had gifted her. It was a battle dress, styled like a kimono with side tears that showed a bit of her thick thighs but not much. Her stomach had started protruding, showing that her child was developing steadily, but it didn’t mean she couldn’t fight. As a matter of fact, she was feeling stronger than ever.

Her battle dress was a beautiful white with blue details. On her back was a row of holes for her tails instead of a huge ribbon. It had a high collar with a small kite-like shape cut to expose a bit of her cleavage. All in all, the dress was a masterpiece.

Clara twirled her long, silvery-white hair, picked up a blue ribbon, and tied up her hair in a bun. Her tails swayed mesmerizingly behind her, adding more beauty to her. Her tails had multiplied to eight after the racial change and ascension. What made the Primord race special was that it had no specific physical trait apart from the hair color change. If you were changed to one, you retain traits of your old race, and even be able to use all powers that came with your old race, while getting new ones from the primord race.

This was why, despite the racial change, all the members of the imperial family still retained their appearances, with the exception of their hair color. Clara’s tails had multiplied to eight, putting her on the same level as a demigod realm fox, just a step away from being a god. But, there was no other fox with that level of power aside her. It wasn’t a matter of cultivation or advancement, but lineage and fate.

Clara was the Kitsune, the nine-tailed fox by right and fate. Her destiny and fate were to be the Kitsune, and it was just a matter of time before she became it. And according to myths and legends, the Kitsune was a god-level being. Once she gets her ninth tail, she will ascend to godhood and become a goddess. But that could wait. Now she had a war to win, and win she would.

With a final twirl, Clara walked out of her chambers. It was time to fight.

"Ari... It would have been better if you were fighting by my side, but it’s alright. You became a part of me, and I am glad."

...

Luneth flew at the speed of light towards Anbord, her eyes glowing deeply. Despite the speed at which she was travelling, her massive dragon form couldn’t be hidden. She was as huge as the Concord, but on the slimmer side. In less than five seconds, she reached the outskirts of Anbord and was about to breach the barrier when she heard a loud roar.

ROOOOOOOOOAR!!!

The roar was unlike anything she’d heard before, but it was filled with a certain kind of power and authority that almost made her fly down and bow, but she resisted. Only the dragon emperor can control her, or so she thought.

She landed with a loud bang, causing the land to rupture and cave in. The place shook so hard that it was as if the world was ending. Her horns glowed deeply under the sun, a beautiful blend of gold and white. She was a Western dragon type with beautiful white scales that made her look like an angel. She had two draconic tails, one with a pointed and sharp end, and the other with a curved end. Two pairs of wings, folded slowly onto her back as she stared intently at the woman walking towards her.

The woman was so beautiful that Luneth felt a sharp pang of jealousy and envy hit her right in the heart. In that instant, she swore to kill the woman and any other person related to her. That kind of beauty was a sin!

"Oh my... Aren’t you one jealous girl? I can feel your emotions as if they were my own~" Clara mocked, causing fumes to blow out of the dragon’s nostrils.

"I will devour you and your descendants!" Luneth spoke once and attacked, a massive claw moving with such speed that the sound of it came 10 seconds later, that too in rapid succession, since Luneth had attacked more than once in two seconds.

The air ripped apart from her attacks, while the space around her fractured. Even the barrier, a good distance away from her, cracked. But, the sole victim of her attacks stood there with an amused expression, her tails swaying behind her in a hypnotic dance that infuriated Luneth to no end.

ROOOOOOOAR!!!

Luneth pounced at Clara while various constructions of light materialized around her and shot at Clara, but all Clara did was release an "oh" sound, showing no signs of dodging or even blocking. She was taking the battle too lightly.

Waves upon waves of attacks fell on her, destroying the land. In less than a minute, the land had transformed from beautiful grassland to an uninhabitable area. The battle had lasted not more than a minute, and this was the result.

A huge storm of dust and stone covered the area to the extent that Luneth, even with her draconic eyesight, had to squint to see through it, and her eyes widened in shock, disbelief, and fear.

"Ah... You dirty lizard. You almost made my new dress dirty!" Clara spoke from the storm. Her tails snapped once, and the whole storm ceased to exist.

"Wha-!"

"You are really cute. Hehe. You know, you are very powerful, and any normal person would have died from just your aura. But I am not any normal person.

There’s something about me, my race, and my family that I wish to tell you before you die..."

Luneth attacked, but her attack failed. Her gaze locked with Clara and she froze. She could neither move nor speak. The space around her had been locked down.

"Let me finish talking, okay?

Primords are a very special race. Unlike dragons, primords aren’t mortal. We are incarnations of Origin and Order, and you can not destroy your origin. Just like how dragons are favored by nature, primords are favored by existence itself. Just like how dragons are more powerful than beings of their level, primords are also more powerful than beings of their level.

You might have put up a fight if you’d met one of the newer wives, but me? Hehe~"

Luneth’s eyes widened in shock and fear as realization dawned on her. She had read about the Kitsune, and when she remembered everything about her, she understood the truth, although harsh.

She had lost the fight before it even began. She had been in an illusion of her own mind from the very beginning.

"Greet your brothers for me. It was a pity they met sister, Harley..."

That was the last thing the great light dragon, Luneth, heard before her head fell off her body.

"I didn’t even get to use my primord form..." Clara grumbled as she turned to head back when she came face to face with a pure white fox with six tails and blue eyes.

"Ari..."

"Master. I’ve been trying to reach you..." the fox, Ari, said with a calm voice.

"I thought you were gone forever," Clara said in confusion and shock.

"It should have been so since we are both foxes, but that changed when you became a primord. Just like how Galeno and the rest are spirit guardians of master Ethan, so am I your spirit guardian, and I am an actual spirit."

"I missed you. I don’t care what you’ve become..."
