Ancient Tears BloodLine
Chapter 1472: A twist unseen
Battlefield No. 3
My gaze swept across the battlefield. I confirmed that there were no elite race creatures here.
So, there was no one who could pose a threat to my life. None of the foreign creatures were ready to attack me.
Should I start targeting others? Then, my gaze fell on the injured warriors and foreign creatures on the ground.
The fate of the planted spies was sealed. They were not going to escape. They would have to rot here. If they tried to come back, they would be caught by the elders.
Buzz!
The next second, the battlefield alarm sounded. It occurred at the right time. My heart relaxed a lot. The alarm sounded, and everyone relaxed their bodies.
I looked at the warriors and foreign creatures once again. Then, I turned around and started heading back toward the teleportation platform.
If I stayed here, someone would attempt a sneak attack again.
Gasp!
The warriors came back to their senses. The foreign creatures then relaxed and started going back toward their teleportation platform.
They needed to report back to the higher-ups. The high-value target had entered the battlefield. They weren’t able to defeat him.
They needed someone at the level of an elite race member to kill the target.
Time passed.
It didn’t take long for the battlefield to become empty, except for the planted spies and foreign creatures who were injured earlier.
They were lying on the ground. The foreign creatures could go back to the teleportation platform, but the fate of the planted spies was sealed.
They couldn’t go back to the warrior camp. They had no other option but to stay on the battlefield.
On the other hand, I left the battlefield through the teleportation platform. Then, I appeared at the warrior camp. I was the first one to arrive.
I immediately rushed toward my stone house. In the blink of an eye, I reached the house. I used the key and entered inside. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
I relaxed a lot. Then, I went to the sofa and laid down. The battle was intense.
On the other hand, Elder Mike was outside the teleportation platform. He was hidden, but he had seen Zack Lockwood coming out earlier.
Then, one by one, the warriors started coming out. Elder Mike didn’t show his presence, but he was overhearing the conversation.
"Damn!"
"Zack Lockwood is here!"
"The battlefield is going to be more intense from now on."
"The enemies will send a more dangerous team next time."
The warriors started their discussion. They were afraid that they were going to be caught in the crossfire.
They could survive if the battlefield was not that dangerous because the enemies were at the same level of combat strength.
But because of Zack Lockwood, there was a chance the battlefield would be flooded with powerful enemies for example, the elite creatures.
They wouldn’t be able to stand against the elite creatures. The warriors were frustrated. They were scared that the casualty rate was going to be high.
Elder Mike heard everything. He was surprised. He knew something might happen because of Zack Lockwood.
But he didn’t expect the whole battlefield to be shocked. He wondered whether any fight had happened or not.
Then, he continued to listen to their conversation. It didn’t take long for him to hear everything. He was able to make out the full picture.
He then returned to his office. He sat on the chair and leaned back, sorting out his thoughts. He needed to report to Dean Jerome next.
"So, there were planted spies," he muttered.
He doubted all the hostile people took chances against Zack Lockwood. He thought there were still smart people among the hostile forces.
They must be waiting to assess Zack Lockwood’s strength. After this battle, they might have information. So, Zack Lockwood is going to face more attacks in the future.
It was going to be dangerous.
Buzz!
The next second, his device buzzed. He recovered his thoughts and picked up the device. The person who was calling was none other than Dean Jerome.
Mike sat up straight. He then answered the call.
"Dean," he said.
"What happened? Is the battle over?" Jerome asked.
"Yes, Dean. The kid has caused quite a scene on the battlefield. Everyone is talking about him. It appears the foreign creatures stopped attacking him at one point. No one was his match," Mike said.
"Then the battlefield didn’t have elite race creatures," Jerome commented.
Mike was taken aback.
He said, "Dean, you are right. There were no elite race members who entered the battlefield this time."
"I know it. Keep an eye on others. There is no guarantee that planted spies won’t attack inside the camp," Jerome said.
"Yes," Mike replied.
...
Foreign Planet
The dark planet had numerous spike-like black towers reaching close to the sky. At the base of the towers, massive cities were located.
In one of the cities, the higher-ups were located. They were discussing the battle reports coming in from various battlefields.
In one of the buildings, the higher-ups were looking at the reports from Battlefield No. 3. The news was shocking to them.
Most of the time, the battle was not fought. Everyone stayed in their position—both the foreign creatures and the warriors.
All because of one person. The person was none other than Zack Lockwood, their high-value target. Various bounties were on his head.
But no one had been able to locate him so far. It was rumored that the target was hidden away by the Dean of that university.
But now, that target had entered Battlefield No. 3 and was able to slay purple-mark level members.
The foreign creature higher-ups came to realize that the target had become a Gold Mark Warrior. That’s why he was able to stop the battlefield and intimidate others.
They also got reports that the planted spies were defeated as well. Basically, no one was able to stop him. In the end, they could only return empty-handed.
The higher-ups decided that only elite race members could face the target now.
They made a united decision and gave orders to a team of Elite Race Members to enter Battlefield No. 3 next time.
