Warrior Camp

The other warriors were returning to the camp. Elder Mike was waiting outside. He didn’t hide his presence. There were a few elders with him. They were ready to take away the critically injured.

When the injured warriors appeared, the elders immediately took action. They took the injured people away to the clinic.

Elder Mike was quiet. He was silenced by the number of casualties. More than a hundred warriors had died in this particular battle.

He recalled Zack Lockwood saying he had faced 20 Elite Race Members. For any Purple Mark Expert, 20 Elite Race Members are not something they can defeat.

Yet Zack Lockwood had done that. It was something that needed to be noted and appreciated. Once everyone had returned from the battlefield, Elder Mike and the elders left the place. They had more work to do.

Star University—Dean’s Office

As usual, Dean Jerome had been waiting for the reports. He was especially concerned about Zack Lockwood. He knew the foreign creatures were increasing their attacks on Zack Lockwood.

Last time, they had sent Elite Race Members to kill the young man. Previously, they had many young geniuses lose their lives to the elite race members.

This time, he didn’t want the same outcome.

The next second, his device buzzed. Dean Jerome was surprised. He didn’t expect the battle to end so soon.

He saw the contact name. The person who was calling was none other than Elder Mike.

He asked, "Elder Mike, what happened?"

Hearing that, Elder Mike, who was on the phone call, explained everything. He told how the casualties this time around were high.

Not only that, but Zack Lockwood had faced 20 Elite Race Members. This time, the enemies didn’t hold back their strength.

The foreign creatures didn’t hide their power. They all teamed up to tear apart the front line. If the situation continues in the future, then they will keep losing more lives.

It’s because not everyone is Zack Lockwood. Because of Zack Lockwood, they are facing the full strength of the foreign creature side as well. They needed some relief.

Elder Mike wanted the battlefield to be fair. The appearance of Zack Lockwood tilted and changed everything.

He wanted Dean Jerome to make a wise decision. He didn’t want to say it directly, but he thought other warriors shouldn’t suffer because of Zack Lockwood.

Jerome listened to everything for a full half hour. He understood that Elder Mike was scared as well. Then, his gaze fell on the reports on the table.

It was about an infiltration attempt made by one of the units of the foreign creatures. They were trying to infiltrate one of the secret lands.

It all started when Zack Lockwood’s talent and strength were exposed. The foreign creatures had started targeting the assets of Star University.

The unit was made of Purple Mark level creatures. Jerome decided to send Zack Lockwood to this secret land to eliminate the infiltrators.

"Alright, send him back," he said to Elder Mike.

Elder Mike was happy. After ending the call, Jerome fell into deep thought. He thought that, hereafter, it would not be good to send Zack Lockwood to the battlefield.

He had to look after others as well. Most of them were from influential warrior families and were disciples of the Faction leaders and the main elders.

A few people had died on this battlefield. He sighed inwardly. He was looking after Zack Lockwood not only due to personal interest, but due to orders from the higher-ups as well.

They had seen through Zack Lockwood’s potential. The young man has the talent to break the chains of the Red Mark Level.

One hour later,

Zack Lockwood returned from the warrior camp. He was safely brought to Star University by the Purple Mark Guard.

Once I entered the Dean’s office, my gaze fell on Dean Jerome. I was at the warrior camp earlier; I didn’t expect to be brought here so soon.

I can understand. A lot of casualties occurred this time around. Maybe they don’t want me around the warrior camp anymore.

The foreign creatures must be disappointed. Then, Dean Jerome looked at me and asked me to sit.

I sat down on the chair. The Purple Mark Guard was here as well. He is a Half-step Red Mark Warrior.

"It appears no one caused you a problem this time," Jerome asked the Purple Mark Guard.

"Everyone thinks that Zack Lockwood is at the warrior camp. Right now, all the warrior camps are active. The battles are happening frequently."

"They wouldn’t have imagined we would get him midway," he replied.

"Kid, you gave us a shock once again. But a lot of people have died this time around as well. Their deaths are not directly related to you."

"But the foreign creatures’ anger is directed at you. They unleashed their powerful creatures. Because of it, the others suffered some damage," he added.

"I understand," I replied. I, too, had thought that was the reason. There is a clear gap between others and me.

I’m someone with multiple inheritances. Obviously, the difference will show up. Then I raised my head and looked at the Dean. He must have something else to say to me.

"We have encountered a unique situation." After saying that, Jerome talked about the infiltration done by the foreign creatures.

Hearing that, I was shocked. I had thought the only point of contact was the battlefield. I didn’t expect the enemy to attack the secret lands as well.

"I’m going to send you to the secret land. It’s a vast territory. We have already emptied most of the resources. The place is now more like a barren land."

"You may come across a few useful resources. You can use them as much as you want. But clear out the foreign creatures inside the secret land."

"Do your best to solve the problem. Once you are done with that, I will take you back," Dean Jerome said.

A look of understanding dawned on me. An expectation appeared in my heart. I want to increase my strength as well.

If there is any treasure in the secret land, then I should get it.

"I’m ready to go," I said to the old man.
