They simultaneously entered the ranks of the Purple Mark Rank. I immediately felt the difference. The new profound power was increasing the strength of my body.

The space inside the dantian began to expand. The purple lightning seed was strengthened once again.

The purple lightning force began to change as well. It became more destructive and powerful.

The lightning bolt rune became stronger and denser. I didn’t open my eyes. There was extra information in my mind. It was the Chapter of the Purple Mark Rank.

I didn’t try to comprehend the Chapter right away. Instead, I focused on stabilizing my strength.

The City Lord and the Family Heads of the other two families had entered the estate. The scent of blood and death lingered in the air.

They followed the scent and reached the place. They saw mutilated corpses inside the brick building. The blood had dyed the floor red.

All four of their faces changed drastically.

"What’s going on here?" one of the Family Heads asked.

City Lord William was a middle-aged person in his forties. He had a thick beard. His eyes shone with light. He didn’t know who did it.

He could only think of Star University. Only they had the guts to do that, because he had dealings with the Foster Family. Though the Foster Family was connected to Star University on the bright side,

They had done dark deeds behind their backs. He was worried that those dark deeds had been found out by Star University.

He decided to find the culprit and silence them. It didn’t matter even if the culprit was from Star University.

He turned toward the two family heads. They had similar strength and foundations equal to the Foster Family. There were other forces in the city who were yet to arrive.

"Family heads, it appears the planted spies of the Foreign Creatures have taken action. We should find the culprit and kill him ASAP," William said with anger.

He spoke with great justice. Hearing that, the faces of the two family heads changed drastically. The words "planted spies" landed like a thunderclap in their heads.

The City Lord was someone who worked for Star University. They thought it must be Star University.

William saw the reaction and was satisfied. He couldn’t let his own deeds be exposed. Otherwise, he would face certain death.

"City Lord, we will follow you," the two family heads spoke in unison.

Hearing that, William agreed. Then, he took the lead. The trio began to look for the culprit. They soon caught the servants and learned that the culprit had entered the Family Head’s chamber.

Hearing that, William showed a ruthless expression. He was sure that someone from Star University had come to find the evidence.

The confrontation might have led to Victor Foster’s and the elders’ demise. The other family heads saw the expression of the City Lord. Their hearts suddenly felt dread.

They were worried that they had made a wrong decision. They were no fools. They knew about City Lord William. He was a person who worked for his own self-interest.

Their own families had committed crimes and done some shady things. The City Lord must have known about it. That’s why they remained silent and chose to follow him.

A few minutes later,

City Lord William and the two Family Heads arrived in front of the Family Head’s Chamber. William tried to open the door of the chamber.

But the door was locked. William’s face turned ugly. The next second, he covered his right hand with crimson flames.

Then, he slammed the door with his crimson hand. An explosion occurred. The flames spread across the door.

Both Family Heads moved backward. They felt the scorching heat on their faces. It was the power of the Purple Mark Rank Flames.

But the door remained intact. It was made of a special material.

William continued to slam the door. But the door remained intact.

Inside the room, I was sitting cross-legged. I continued to hear the sounds from outside. My heart turned cold. I didn’t know who was attacking from outside.

I continued to stabilize my strength.

Outside

William stopped attacking after some time. He looked at the intact door. He cursed Victor Foster. He was sure that Victor Foster hadn’t wanted the evidence to leak.

"City Lord, we can wait outside. I’m sure the culprit will appear outside," one Family Head said.

The other family head supported the argument.

Hearing that, City Lord William agreed. He then gave orders to the officials. He wanted the estate to be surrounded by the officials.

He didn’t want to give a single chance to the culprit.

The family heads looked at each other. They sighed inwardly. They could only follow City Lord William.

It didn’t take long for the officials to gather in the estate. Their auras showed that they were Gold Mark Warriors.

The survivors had left the place. The other family members who were outside during the attack were not allowed to enter the estate.

They were stopped by the officials. The members were angry and shocked. They were in disbelief. They couldn’t believe that someone dared to attack their family.

Not only were the elders dead, but the family head was dead as well. The family was completely ruined. The other families would share the benefits later.

Time passed.

Inside the chamber, I stabilized my new strength. I didn’t open my eyes. Since I had stabilized my strength, I took the time to comprehend the new Purple Mark Chapter.

I knew there were enemies outside. I decided to deal with them during the nighttime.
