They were wearing Red Armor that could stop bullets, yet they were still subdued by a group of survivors. It seems the combat strength of these new troops is truly pathetic.

By now, the noise had woken many of them. Seeing some of their former companions among the group of Warriors, they began to cry out for help.

Just then, Chen Hai hurried over, handing Lin Feng an inventory list as he angrily explained:

"These bastards... Yesterday, while we were out killing Zerg, they stormed our camp. At first, they pretended to be Federation Forces here to rescue us. But once they found out there were no Awakeners in the camp, they showed their true colors. They started assaulting the women and even declared they were going to establish their own rule here..."

"Fortunately, we got back in time. We killed a few of the bastards who didn’t know their place right then and there, and that’s how we managed to get the situation under control."

Lin Feng nodded, his expression unchanging.

The gazes of the squad members behind him, initially filled with sympathy, turned ice-cold.

Looking at the complex item numbers, Lin Feng pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Do you have any of the original pier workers with you? We need to match these manifests to the right shipping containers."

Chen Hai shook his head.

"The original pier staff all left, either on the cargo ships or in their own cars. But we’ve been figuring things out for the past half-month and have a general idea of the layout."

"There isn’t much food here, just a dozen or so crates. Three of them are imported snacks, and the others are soybeans. There was some fruit, but it has already rotted."

"As for steel and whatnot, that’s at the western pier. It has its own dedicated freight railway and was managed by a different state-owned enterprise."

Lin Feng nodded. Seeing that it was almost noon, he turned to his squad and gave an order.

"Alright everyone, take a break and have some lunch. We’ve got a lot of work to do this afternoon."

Shen Jie nodded and had the team rest where they were.

Chen Hai called over several women who had been hiding on the second floor. Among them was a child of about eight or nine.

"Normally, the men handle patrols and go out to kill Zerg, while the women take care of logistics. They’ve already located the containers corresponding to the item numbers on the manifests."

Lin Feng shrugged, handed the manifests to the women, and then asked:

"How many people are in your group? And are there any boats nearby?"

Chen Hai hesitated for a moment.

"Eighty-six people in total. Forty men, the rest are women and children. Most of us are here as families. We’re stuck here because we have no fuel."

"We have a few boats, but their fuel was siphoned. We searched the entire pier and only managed to scrounge up a hundred pounds or so of diesel. The bigger problem is that none of us know how to pilot a cargo ship."

"So our plan was to wait until the Zerg Race was about to cross the river to attack, then make a risky escape. For now, we have food and water here, and we can even kill Zerg to get stronger and potentially have an Awakening..."

"So we weren’t planning on leaving for the time being."

"Of course, after what happened yesterday, we were considering leaving..."

Lin Feng shook his head. Finding Chen Hai a bit long-winded, he addressed the women directly.

"Have any of you been over to the adjacent pier? I need a guide who knows where the rebar and steel frames are stored."

A little girl with a grimy face summoned her courage and stepped forward.

"I know! I’ve snuck over there before!"

A faint smile touched Lin Feng’s lips. The western port was several times larger than this one, stretching for more than ten kilometers. Searching it from scratch would have been a monumental effort.

The presence he sensed from the little girl was the same one he’d felt from the owner of the footprints outside the wire fence when they arrived.

"Where are your parents? Have them come with us."

Lin Feng asked casually. The little girl just lowered her head, staring at the tips of her blackened shoes without a word.

Chen Hai quickly interjected from the side.

"Chengcheng got separated from her parents during the evacuation. We found her by chance in the county police station while we were on a supply run."

Lin Feng let out a soft sigh.

"What’s your name?"

The little girl replied in a small voice,

"Jiang Chengcheng. I’m eight years old, in the third grade."

Lin Feng nodded and offered a word of comfort.

"Your parents are definitely still alive. They might have already reached Jin City with the main group of survivors. When we get there, you can ask Uncle Chen to help you look for them."

"But for now, can you lead us to that steel?"

Jiang Chengcheng wiped her eyes and nodded firmly.

Lin Feng immediately called over a dozen of his squad members to go with them.

’Once we find the steel, I’ll obviously use it on the spot to Copy a batch of Shotguns as backup.’

’As for the rest, I’ll mark it. Then, when the fleet arrives this evening for pickup, I’ll synthesize a batch of Tank Replicas and take all the survivors back with us.’

Lin Feng patted the girl’s head, his tone even.

"Let’s get going, then."

But then, a notification suddenly flashed before his eyes:

「Jiang Chengcheng, Lv. 7/9」

「Life Value: 35, Physique: 38, Spirit: 45」

「Superpower Awakening: Danger Perception」
