Apocalypse Online: Regression of SSS-Class Summoner
Chapter 104: I’ll Consider It
"This is my brother’s car, Teacher. Don’t worry, he just came to pick me up.
I’ll be ending the call now. Goodbye."
He ended the call immediately, stunning Max.
Max was amused. "I thought you had great respect to them, why are you acting like this?"
Enzo sighed. "It’s easy to understand what she’s thinking if you know her, Max."
"Fair enough."
The car was silent for a while until Enzo began interrogating Max.
In the end, Max revealed he was a multi-millionaire now and he could earn more than a million per month in gaming.
As for its consistency, Max was confident to have a consistent cash flow, even as far as telling Enzo it would increase in the future, silencing him.
As Enzo was silent, falling into deep thought, Max teased him.
"Are you interested in playing the game now?"
Enzo didn’t reply.
After a while, he said, "I’ll consider it after graduate."
Max was utterly surprised. He was thrilled.
Enzo had not played the game in his past life, causing him to only become a Swordsman.
Swordsman was the only and easiest profession he could attain at that time.
Now, Enzo could freely choose the class he wanted.
With Max’s backing, Enzo was definitely fated to reach higher heights.
If Max was to compare himself—his past life’s version of his self—to Enzo, the latter definitely has more talent in playing the game.
Max said with a clear excitement on his tone, "I suggest that you must study every sub-class at different main class in the game. The very first sub-class you choose will serve as your foundation."
Enzo asked, "What was your sub-class?"
"Arcane Caster. A Mage."
"How is it different than others?"
"In the Mage’s sub-class category?"
"Yes."
"Well, there are four sub-class in the Mage class. This is only for the first-class.
The first one is the Fire Mage. A spellcaster who controls and generates fire.
It’s strength focuses on raw damage, but its weakness is apparent. It has limited defense and they’ll struggle against fire-resistant enemies.
The second one is the Ice Mage, who wields frost and cold-based magic.
They are strong in battlefield control, but they have lower mobility and slower casting because of how complex their spells.
The third one is the Wind Mage, who commands air and storms.
They are strong agility and disruption wise, but they have less sustained damage than fire.
The last one is Arcane Caster, who wield pure, raw magical energy.
They are strong in flexibility and magical utility but they require strong control and high mana reserves."
"Which one do you recommend?"
Max fell silent.
He said, "It’s hard to tell. If you are aiming for Elementalist or Stormcaller Class at the second class, then it’s better to choose the first to third class."
Max paused for a while and thought deliberately.
"I don’t want to recommend you anything. Every sub-class has their own powers despite their clear weakness.
For instance, the Fire Mage has limited defense and might struggle against fire-resistant enemies, but if you’re in luck, your fire might not be an ordinary fire, but a holy fire, that might change everything.
There’s also instances that the game itself can detect your bloodline, but they are only mostly for Warriors, since our history didn’t produce a single mage but countless powerful kings and generals.
Anyway, what can I suggest is to follow your heart. That takes time."
Enzo furrowed his eyebrows. He didn’t expect that choose the first sub-class was complicated and had to be taken seriously.
He asked, "You didn’t seem to deliberately consider before choosing the Arcane Caster, though."
Enzo was confident about his assumption simply because how absurdly fast Max earned money.
If he earned that quick, then he might have been one of the top players in the game.
Max chuckled in response.
"Because it really didn’t matter. I’m aiming for a specific sub-class in the second class...
You’ll know soon."
Enzo shrugged for how his brother was trying to be mysterious in his character in the game.
He didn’t dwell on it longer, as he was contemplating the sub-class he might obtain.
He recalled reading a forum post in Apocalypse Online community at Aethernova’s website.
It mentioned every sub-class that had been taken by the players.
It was constantly being updated because there were players who commented what class they had gotten.
It has been a month and it was finalized.
When he was asking his brother earlier, it was only to probe his knowledge on the game.
He elucidated each sub-class in the Mage’s first class briefly, unlike what was posted in the forum.
The way Max elucidated seemed to convey how familiar he was in the game unlike the other players.
It didn’t take long for him to suspect his brother’s actual identity.
He’s definitely the First Player, who has become the villain of every players.
He inwardly sighed. It wasn’t difficult to conclude that his brother was the First Player.
Only the First Player has been auctioning coins, set equipments, and potions from the game.
For Max to earn that quick was so similar to how much the First Player earned.
It was only in the morning he confirmed it.
He could even remember that one midnight how his elder brother was relaxing on the bed, watching on the silent phone with a wide smile on his face.
It coincidentally connect to the exact time Aethernova auctioned the potions the First Player had listed.
It was only the early stage of Apocalypse Online and his brother was already shining from the game.
He couldn’t help but be worried.
It could be an omen or a fortune.
As he was absorbed in his thoughts, watching the scenery through the window, he slowly realized how unfamiliar the place was.
He was startled.
He turned towards his brother and couldn’t force the words to come out his mouth.
Max smiled while focusing at the road.
"You finally noticed. It was Auntie Sarah’s decision after I bought the car.
She wouldn’t allow me."
Enzo smacked his face.
How could I not realize? There’s no way Auntie Sarah will allow a super car to park in the apartment’s parking lot.
