Chapter 114: Three Titles At Once

Max was dumbfounded when he heard the second announcement.

He thought the other players in his past life wasn’t aware that another player was bestowed an Imperial Demon Vanguard title, but it seemed it wasn’t the case.

He became the first player, including in his past life, to be granted with a prestigious special commission.

Curious, he immediately ordered the system to show him the descriptions and effects of the title he earned.

Max read the three titles he gained patiently.

It was, after all, a global achievement award, so it wasn’t something to be taken lightly.

The Commander believed Max was lost in his own thoughts, so he silently decided to return to his desk to continue his work first.

Max, on the other hand, took ten minutes to comprehend what he had just read.

In simple words, his reputation in the Empire soared.

In the church, too. I can take advantage of this if I get entangled with the players.

Or are they still interested in fighting against me after hearing this series of announcement?

Max shook his head with a smile.

He placed the opened box to the table and took out the name tag and insignia.

He first placed the name tag on his left chest.

He didn’t even need to push the name tag to his mantle. As soon as it was a meter closer with each other, the name tag manifested an incandescent light and levitated independently.

When it sensed his mantle, it shoved itself to its surface without the harming the other and rested with its light diminishing.

Max was in awe.

He hastily took out the insignia and witnessed the same phenomenon.

The insignia glued itself below the name tag and they both seemed to radiate a familiar energy, seemingly coalescing with each other.

He then heard the Commander’s voice.

"With that, you’ve been officially recognized by the Empire."

Max was supposed to feel elated by the announcement, but his face turned grave.

He asked in a somber tone, "Does these things keep track of me?"

The Commander was silent for a while until he sighed.

The Imperial Family even saw this far.

He said in a genuine tone, "Yes and no. The Imperial Family truly values you. If you are in danger, then the insignia will instantly alarm them and instantly mobilized the nearest Imperial Squad to assist you.

Don’t worry about them keeping tracks of personal matters, the Holy Church won’t like that."

"How can I trust your words?"

The Commander shrugged. "That’s what the Imperial Family told me and I believe it. We are in the same position as you, my insignia possessed a hidden rune that only S-rank can sense, too.

It has been proven many times in the past as well. It’s one of the main reason why demons are having a hard time penetrating.

Because of the emperor possessing the Tactician class, the empire consistently defended itself from the constant assault of demons and monsters.

Your worries are worries from the officers in the past. Yet, during the time of the previous emperor, when this insignia was produced, a Commander managed to gather forces to rebel against the Empire.

So, your worries are superfluous, really."

Max was silent for a while.

He replied, "Or perhaps, it’s just a pretext."

The Commander sighed and shook his head.

"As long as you aren’t planning of rebelling against the Empire, what’s there to worry about?"

Max was silent for a while and pondered thoroughly.

He eventually relaxed as he speculated that his future wouldn’t in conflict with the Empire’s movements.

The Commander said, "The Empire wants to eradicate the demons, and so are you. That’s why you inherited a legacy and the empire and the holy church fully supported you with it.

If you have any conflicts with other individuals with high-ranking position, then the empire and the holy church will definitely support you with it.

Just don’t abuse your position."

Max replied, "Yeah, I’m convinced now.

Also, you still haven’t stated the privileges I received from this position."

The Commander’s eyes widened.

He had already memorized the privileges but he felt a bit embarrassed they slipped out of his mind.

He said, "I forgot about that.

I will state the privilege from the Empire first.

Members of the Imperial Demon Vanguard like you are granted unrestricted passage throughout all Imperial cities, towns, villages, and military checkpoints without the need for standard travel permits. Their commission serves as official identification recognized by all Imperial authorities.

When engaged in an official investigation or operation, local administrations are expected to provide reasonable logistical assistance, including temporary lodging, stable access for mounts, basic provisions, secure storage for equipment, and operational workspace when available.

Regional governors, mayors, village elders, military commanders, and local officials are required to cooperate with lawful requests directly related to demonic investigations.

But don’t forget that it must strictly within the area of demonic investigations."

The Commander paused, waiting for Max to nod so he wouldn’t forget about his warning...
